Triston wasn't really sure what to expect. He just kept running, hard and as fast as he could. In the distance, he could hear his brother, Wesley yelling at Lucian, and he couldn't help but laugh and wonder what was going on. But he was on his own and something told him that with the way Margery was looking at him, she was not going to be going after William. He would run all day if he had to, to keep away from her.
He noticed Shane jump up into the tree and he couldn't help but laugh. That was probably a smart idea--no one would be thinking to look up, perhaps. Well, now he needed to think-- Hide or keep running?
Well, if they were all running away from start, perhaps if he made a large circle and headed back towards the start, he wouldn't be found. So far now, he just kept running further into the woods.

Helene laughed at the sound of his defeated voice. Catching her breath still as she continued to look up at the sky. The cold from the ground and mud began to seep into her clothes but she didn't care. It made her feel alive, and she had quite enjoyed this little event. She got to keep her secrets and prove that she could catch the wily fox. It was a well earned victory, and she could handle a bit of cold.
"Excuses, excuses." She chuckled. She went to turn her head to look at him when he dropped the snow on her face. She gasped at the cold, and then wrinkled her face. Slowly lifted her hands to wipe the cold slush from her face, in the process smearing mud on her own face. "Wesley Darling?" She sang lowly, as she flicked it off her fingers. Her tone was sugar sweet, but the look on her face was the complete opposite. "You're going to pay for that." Her tone took on a much darker ring, and she suddenly rolled over onto her stomach. scooping snow up her hands as she got up on her knees, and would then proceed to throw the snowball at him in retaliation.

Anemone grinned up at her best friend as she grabbed her arm and expressed her excitement. It was good to have Avalynn around, or she'd get too mired down in worrying. Her next remark, though, made Anemone gasp and make a face.
Do you have your eyes on anyone? Perhaps the young deGrey brother who you danced with?"
Goodness Avalynn was too smart for her! How she always managed to read Anemone's mind she didn't know, but she knew there was no point in arguing. "Maaaaybe..." she answered with a shy smile, "But it won't do me any good if I can't catch him!"
Speaking of which--the men were off, and Anemone leaned around the person in front of her to watch which way Lucian went. She nearly fell over, though when his brother Wesley pushed their friend, and Lucian pushed Wesley, and Wesley yelled after him like it was the betrayal of a lifetime. She burst into laughter so strong she was doubled over, and completely missed the signal for the women to start running until she saw everyone else get started. "Wish me luck, Ava! And find someone good for yourself! You deserve it!" She teased before she hoisted her skirt up--relieved she'd remembered to wear leggings this year--and hurried off after her chosen hare.

Green colored eyes watched as the men dispersed. She really wasn't sure who she was going to run after, or if she would catch someone. Perhaps she would just let fate lead her way. If she caught someone, it was just an added bonus. If not, well, she was engaged, anyhow. Maybe? She really didn't know anymore.
She offered a sweet smile at Eleesa and nodded. "I do too, honestly..." Maybe not for the same reasons Eleesa felt out of place, but she felt that maybe she shouldn't be doing this either. If Edward had seen her running, she was sure he would have reminded her several times that she was engaged. He was such a hypocritical man. "We are allowed to have fun, too, though, right?" She gave Eleesa a reassuring smile. At the mention of her sister, Ely frowned slightly and shrugged her shoulders. "Her husband is not doing so well, so she decided to stay with him. And she has been feeling slightly under the weather, too." She knew part of it also had to do with Cassandra longing to be back in Aralore with Orin, however, but that wasn't her secret to tell.
As the councilor instructed the ladies to take their position at the starting line, Elyscia moved forward. Her eyes darted around the women around her and then out into the field, wondering which direction she should head in.
They were given the signal, and Elyscia began running along with the other ladies until everyone began to disperse. She decided to head to the left where the wooded area was. She had noticed several had gone in that direction. She ran until she found her way into the wooded area and she stopped in the middle of a clearing, catching her breath as she scanned the area for any sign of life, movement, or sound.

Avalynn nearly shrieked when Anemone answered her. She giggled loudly but quickly clapped her hands over her mouth. "Oh, I knew it!!!" She exclaimed, jumping up and down a few times. "You can do it, girl!"
Avalynn watched the men as they scrambled off, and she noticed Avalynn staring at Lucian, watching where he was going so she could go after him. She giggled herself at the sight of her friend bursting into laughter. And then they were signaled to go after the men. She gently shoved Anemone forward. "Good luck! Go get your man!!"
Avalynn watched her friend rush off, and she did the same, only instead of going in the same direction as Anemone did, Avalynn rushed into the wooded area to the left. This was a bad idea. Who knew what was in these woods?
She ran as fast as she could, but she wasn't really made for this sort of thing. She was a lady and wasn't really given a whole lot of opportunity to be running around often. So when she came to that tree that Shane had climbed up, she stopped to catch her breath, leaning against that same tree he was in, having no idea he was there.
She breathed deeply, laughing slightly. "Oh, dear... Why did I agree to do this? Oh, that's right, Ava... Because you are still single...and clumsy and talk too much and spend all of your time taking care of your brother and never get much of a chance to meet anyone except for the same old boys in the castle...Who are either idiots or already taken." Avalynn rambled on to herself in between trying to catch her breaths. Her bright blue eyes continued to scan around. "Oh boooyyyyssssss. Come out, come out wherever you aaaarreeee!" She yelled in a sing-songly voice before she mumbled under her breath. "Because Avalynn desperately needs to kiss someone so she's not a complete loser in this stupid game..."

Laughter burst forth when the snow fell onto her face, making her gasp. But Helene surprisingly kept her wits about her despite it all. And that, in and of itself, caused his cackling to slowly die off...but not until he made it quite obvious that smearing mud on her own face was far too priceless.
But now this was where he died. He was most certain of it.
"Hmm?" he acknowledged, struggling so hard not to laugh again as he turned his head to regard her; watching as she attempted to so casually brush it all off. 'You're going to pay for that.' And he probably should have run then. Every nerve in his body was telling him to move, but the idiot didn't. Perhaps he wanted to see just how she was going to make him pay for it.
Call him a masochist, if you will. But she was cute when she was angry, snitty, or rolling her eyes, and it seemed to be a common thing when he was around. Huh, fancy that.
Then the snow began to fly. "Oi!" he exclaimed, scrambling to sit up and shield his face. Shite it was cold! Wesley was already scrambling to gather up some more snow and chuck it right back at her, all the while struggling to get back up to his feet and probably run again.

The sailor had made it up that tree easily enough, thanks to many years climbing the rigging on a ship. This was nothing. He'd find a comfortable branch to lounge on, and every so often would spot one of the other "hares" rushing past underneath him. He swore he saw Triston briefly, but it could have been any of the deGreys from his vantage point. He'd also heard a shriek echo across the grounds, and he chuckled quietly to himself. Seems Wesley lost his bet- he would know that scream from anywhere.
As he waited this little charade out (really not expecting one of the ladies to find him up there), Shane drew out the flask of whiskey from his inner coat pocket for a few swigs, letting the time pass.
It wasn't terribly long after before he heard someone approaching. Sitting up a little straighter, he watched as the blonde kept getting closer and closer until deciding she wanted to lean back against his tree. Well, shit. Maybe if he remained quiet, she'd never realize he was there. But then she began to talk...and apparently to herself...and Sully felt like he shouldn't listen. Yet, how was he not to with her being right there and he stuck up in a damn tree?
Vaguely hearing something about her brother and men in the castle before she burst out into that little song, he couldn't stop the light chuckle that rumbled in his chest. Oh, it was sad, and he hadn't meant to laugh at her...but it had been kind of cute that it was hard not to. So, figuring he was probably caught now, he decided to speak up, "Care for a drink?" He shook that flask that was still mostly full. "Per the rules of this silly game, though, my lady...you'll have to climb up here for it."

This type of thing was perhaps what she needed at the moment to try to keep her mind off of all the stresses and worries that she had lingering around her. She had no idea how long they would be in Tresteria for--That was Aric's call, and she would not rush him or even ask him to return until he said he was ready.
She turned to look to Claire as she stuttered with her words, her brows furrowing in curiosity and confusion. It seemed as if Claire had a slight objection about taking their time and walking? So when she began to explain, Alexandria's lips pulled into a wide grin. Did Claire fancy Stefan? She was suddenly recalling how flustered the woman was after running into him the other morning.
"So you want to catch Stefan, hmmm?" Alexandria smirked. She held onto Claire's arm as she looped her arm into hers. All the women ran off, except for the two of them, they were seriously going to walk this? Alexandria laughed softly. "Thank him for the other day? Why? What did he do?" She had not heard this story yet, and she was extremely intrigued now.
"I saw them go in that direction." She pointed to the right side of the field. "Leave it to the two foreigners to be instructed to go find people... Hopefully, we do not get lost." She laughed at the thought of it and shrugged her shoulders. "Ah well...It will just be an adventure."

Helene was nearing a fit of giggles and scrambling for more snow, trying to prepare for his attack. She shrieked as the snow hit her. She she'd raised her arm to shield her face and threw what she had at the back of his head as he scrambled to get up. Her hands were already frozen, her fingers bright pink and stinging from the cold, but she didn't care. "Oh no you don't!" She hollered.
She grabbed more snow and hurried to her feet, she couldn't get her legs to move fast enough due to the cold, and she ended up slipping, falling forward. She let a small cry of alarm out before she face planted in mud. She laid their for a moment, slowly rising her face, and then using her fingers to wipe away debris and dirt from her face. She spat out the dirt that had gotten into her mouth and then covered her face with her hands, rolling over onto her back, and then proceeded to look like she'd lost her mind as she laughed so hard she could feel the sting of tears in her eyes, and her stomach muscles convulse with the effort. "W-w-what am I-" She laughed out, tossing her arms out to the side, as she began to just make a mud angel. "Going to do with you?" She whispered, letting another giggle out and then just stared at sky. Letting a sigh of contentment out, she beamed up at the sky.

Nathaniel heard the ladies, or hares, being let loose and he chuckled under his breath as he continued to run. He honestly had no idea where he was going to go or what he was going to do. Part of him just wanted to stand in the middle of the grounds with his arms wide open as if to claim surrender. But that would just be too easy. He wanted to see someone try to fight for him. Maybe. Or this whole thing was really silly and he was suddenly starting to question why he was doing this.
Once he was a good distance away, he slowed himself down and was suddenly hearing screaming off in the near distance. Had someone already been caught? He grinned and found a large tree to hide behind for now. He would rest there, arms folded over his chest as he leaned against the tree, listening to the noises around him.

Lucian heard his brother yell after him after causing him to stumble and lose his momentum. Serves him right for shoving his friend! He laughed but continued to run, glancing over his shoulder once to see Wesley taunting someone as he jogged backward. He shook his head and continued forward.
He had no idea how this would end up, but he couldn't help the twinge of hope he had for one particular hound to find him. Since the night of Edward's funeral, as his family gathered and sang and danced, he hadn't been able to stop thinking about Anemone. He wondered what she would have answered him if Triston had not interrupted. He wondered what he would have said if she returned the question to him. In all honestly, he wasn't sure how he would have answered that question, because he had never really thought about it completely.
As he continued to run, he ran past a rock wall and quickly ducked behind it, sitting on the ground where he would wait it out for a while.

She could already hear the distance sounds of both screaming and laughter as she moved through the trees. Every now and again, she'd see one of the gentlemen emerge from their hiding place, soon closely followed by one of the ladies. Seems everyone was having a good time aside from Lady Killjoy. Why exactly had she agreed to this again? Oh yeah, the new "experience." Truthfully, the 22-year old had been somewhat curious about the whole ordeal. She'd wondered just why so many people seemed so excited about it all. In perhaps a less enthusiastic way than the other participants, she could see the appeal. For the hopeful, fun-loving civilians, it was a bit of fun; a chance to act like a kid again. Even knowing that and being able to understand that concept, Alice still found herself with a scowl across her face. She'd made it rather deep into the forests now, her footfalls quiet out of habit more so than attempting to be sneaky. Finding a place that seemed to be a little less disturbed, she looked over her shoulder to double check that she really was alone before closing her eyes as her head turned forward and letting out a slow breath. That was before she was tumbling to the ground with a soft 'oof.' She'd caught herself on her palms, looking up at the culprit who just so happened to be.. Of course. One of the males, Nathaniel Starke. "Well that was unfortunate." She said simply as she began to stand, brushing herself off as she did so.

Claire shyly nodded her head at her Queens question. She glanced up at her then, and her face began to take on a hue of red. "D-do you remember when I e-excused myself from the funeral back to my room, because I didn't feel well?" She asked. She looked down at her toes and they walked through the snow. "I got dizzy...On the way back." She explained. She'd gotten more than dizzy, but she didn't want to worry Alexandria about it. "Stefan happened to find me, and me helped me back to my room." He helped take care of me until Cassie could get there. She wanted to say, but she was too embarrassed and shy to admit it.
She glanced in the direction Alexandria pointed, and couldn't help but giggle. "We'll be safe I'm sure! We are on castle grounds." She said. "A very fun, nice adventure!" Claire agreed. "But yes! I want to thank Stefan. He's always so busy, and everything and I don't want to interrupt him while he's working, he's gotta focus you know, and I thought if I could catch him it would give me the time I needed to say thank you." She rushed out. She leaned her head gentle on Alexandria's arm. "You know You majesty, I don't think I've ever seen King Aric run before..." She said musing allowed. She brought hand up to over her mouth despite the scarf already there to suppress a giggle. "I don't mean to sound rude, but I'm impressed! I didn't think he could move that fast." This was good! Teagan would be pleased with this knowledge that King Aric was quick on his feet to defend Queen Alexandria should she ever need protecting. It made Claire feel a little better.

"Go get your man!" Avalynn echoed in Anemone's mind as she ran, following the trampled path where other feet had run before her. Her first thought was 'goodness he's not actually mine' but a little nudge in the back of her mind suggested that she was still feeling a touch possessive. If he was caught by another hound... well, even the thought made her heart lurch.
She came upon a low stone wall, and could see the creek in the distance, but now the path of prints became too muddied to use as a guide. She slowed to a halt and put her hands on her hips as she considered her choice, slowly looking from one side to the other. One would have to be crazy to wade through the ice water of the creek this time of year... perhaps she had gone too far?
Anemone turned around and was about to back track when she spotted exactly the person she was looking for, crouched in the shade of the wall. She was so startled she tried to take a step backwards, caught her foot in the wet and weighted down hem of her dress, and fell directly onto her butt. She tried to get up, and promptly slipped and fell right back down again. She sat there for a second with a stunned look on her face, then burst into giggles.
"Oh please don't run off before I can get up," she pleaded to Lucian through her laughter, "Can we count this? Because you're the one I was looking for."

Stefan hadn't meant to offend Aric or to insinuate that he was old. But when Aric laughed and admitted that he was struggling and that he was old, Stefan laughed and shook his head. "Nah... Not that old. Come on, you can do it!"
He urged Aric to keep running harder and faster until they reached the garden maze and the tall hedges. He wasn't lying about the tall hedges. They still were not tall enough, however. "No, nothing yet." He quickly moved to hide behind the hedges and crouched down so his head wouldn't be showing. "I think we got a good head start."
Stefan grinned at Aric and laughed. "Is this really what you guys do here for fun? The ladies run around chasing the men for a kiss?" He raised a brow and gave a questioning glance at Aric.
