ABOUT ALEXANDRIA ::- Alexandria was born, only daughter, to King Elliot and Queen Serenity, but she never knew them. When she was just two years old, the kingdom was attacked and the king and queen were killed. Some loyal servants (Arthur and Katharine Evans, with their son, Orin) took her and escaped the kingdom, running away and raising the princess as their own, calling her Aurora Evans. She grew up a commoner with her new family until one day, a group of mercenaries came across the land where they resided, in search of the missing princess. Arthur and Katharine forced their son to take Alexandria away and care for her. They never saw them again. Orin was only seventeen at the time, Alexandria, was ten.
- Orin and Alexandria lived together, jumping from place to place, trying to survive. But after only two years, they were separated when Alexandria was kidnapped by a man who enslaved her, abused her, used her and made her life miserable.
- When she was just fourteen, she became pregnant by the man who enslaved her. Enraged and blaming her, he tortured her and ripped her open, pulling the unborn baby from her, leaving her to nearly die. Another servant found her and saved her. Afterwards, she continued to be abused and raped by the man, never becoming pregnant again. She came to believe that he had ruined her chances of ever being able to have children.
- She lived under these torturous conditions for three years, each time she tried running away, she was captured and beaten. Her scarred back is proof of the punishments she received from the whip he used on her for each of those punishments.
- When she finally did escape, she lived another year on her own, wandering from place to place, living on the streets some nights. And then, by chance, she and Orin found one another again.
- Unknowingly to Alexandria, Orin had made a promise to his parents that he would return Alexandria to Aralore and give her the wooden box from her true parents, which would tell her of her true identity and that she was the rightful heir of the throne to Aralore. He made good on his promise and took Alexandria back when she was twenty, revealing everything to her, and that everything she had known and been through should not have happened had she remained in Aralore and her parents were not killed.
- Alexandria was devastated, confused and overwhelmed on what she was supposed to do. Eventually, she came to terms and embraced the challenge and reclaimed her throne, ruling Aralore for 8 years thus far.
- Her reign would not be an easy one, however. The Order of Saelis had Aralore under their control, for the most part, and felt that Alexandria should not rule as a single queen. They urged her to marry, forcing arranged marriages her way, which she refused. It was then that she met Eoin Rodain .
- She and Eoin fell in love far too quickly, and he proposed to her after only being together after 6 months. She agreed and was happy that if she was engaged, perhaps Saelis would leave her alone. But it only fueled them with greed and anger. Eoin was not of their choosing, and if she did not agree to one of their arrangements, Aralore would lose their support, and perhaps cause a war. Desperate for a solution, Alexandria spent many hours and sleepless nights scouring through her father's work, until she found that very solution he had left himself. Years ago, the king wanted to pull their alliance from Saelis and gain Aralore's freedom. He had plans of moving his kingdom to a new island, to escape. However, a traitor had told Lord Aramis of Saelis, and the kingdom was attacked.
- Alexandria made plans to go through with her father's plans and she moved her people to the island that had been claimed by her father so many years ago. Her people followed her and she thought they were free, at last from Saelis. But some of her people, who had stayed behind, were tortured until they told them of their queen's plans. Lord Aramis, fuming with rage, had scouts search high and low for her people until they finally found them, kidnapping Alexandria and holding her prisoner. She had been about to be executed when Eoin and a few of her guards had come to her rescue and saved her, bringing her back to Aralore. This is when the war with Saelis began.
- Saelis attacked, and the Aralorians fought hard and long, but they were severely outnumbered, until they were able to gain alliances from the nearby islands. With their help, they defeated the Saelis' army and Lord Aramis. But this left Aralore in horrible devastation, with many lives lost: Including Eoin's.
- Desperate to bring back her kingdom, Alexandria reached out to the allied islands again, but none were able to help, except for Tresteria. The king agreed to give aid to Aralore if Alexandria agreed to marry his brother, Aric Demarais . Prince of Tresteria. Devastated by the loss of Eoin, she agreed, feeling there were no other options left for her or her kingdom.
- For a year, Aric helped with rebuilding Aralore. The queen and him got to know one another and Alexandria started to develop feelings for the man she was to marry- but was confused and in denial of her feelings, trying to hide from them, feeling guilty for moving on after losing Eoin, and scared to lose anyone else that she would love. But after an assassination attempt (which they later found out was from the Order of Saelis), Aric had saved her life and the two confessed their love for one another.
- King Edward, displeased with the progression of Aralore's rebuilding, nearly broke off the alliance but was convinced otherwise. He agreed to keep the alliance if the two married sooner, rather than waiting until the kingdom was finished with its repairs. They agreed and were soon married after. But on the night of their wedding, the Tresterian king became mad with jealousy and nearly raped Alexandria, right in front of Aric. The king was locked up and was later found dead in his cell.
- Just after Alexandria and Aric were married, her previous love, Eoin, returned to Aralore with a warning. He had gotten captured by Saelis during the war, and held prisoner for a year, until he was able to escape. He came with news that Saelis had plans to attack again.
- The queen has to constantly battle the darkness of her past, while dealing with all of the challenges in the present and her fear for her future.
- Because of her life growing up as a commoner, Alexandria often forgets that she is a queen, and that she needs to be guarded. She often sneaks off on her own when she can, to try to go back to living a brief moment of being a commoner again. She longs for the life of freedom from all of the politics and burdens she carries on her shoulders.
- Alexandria holds a very large and important secret that no one else knows about. It wasn't until Aric found a hint of the secret, that he was able to pry it out of her, and now he knows what it is and how dire it is that no one finds out about it.
- The queen is an artist and enjoys drawing and painting, but very little people know this about her.

aric & alexandria
Take my h a n d Take my whole life too, For I can't help f a l l i n g in LOVE with y o u.
ARIC:It was an odd feeling...but comfortable, to be standing there with her, swaying in place more than actual dancing now. He didn't quite understand it himself, that he was so willing to offer his condolences and advice for this woman. Perhaps it was because she didn't look at him like some of the others did, didn't look down at him with an evident frown that had been so common on his own brother's face. Aric would be the first to admit his faults of the past, his inability to be anything better than what he was...to be able to have the strength and possess the knowledge to be what was right for this kingdom. How could he when he couldn't even be that for his own home? All he knew, and wanted, was to be able to try...and Alexandria was willing to give him that chance, to right himself and push away the shackles of those horrid memories. He wanted to forget though he was afraid to...but in this moment was only able to hear and concentrate on his voice and the gentleness of her breathing. He could hear it now, having leaned in closer towards her face, nearly brushing cheek to cheek without his knowledge of doing so. It was as though his mind reached out and sought her for comfort, making him relax and not be afraid to be himself...to be okay and trust her. Inside, he knew he could, and deep down he wanted to prove to her that he could, truly and honestly, give that in return. He wanted to be there for her, for these people, to be the friend she knew she could always count on... ....so then why did the very scent of her, so close, seem to lure him in? Washing over him in gentle waves, bringing his eyes to open halfway. But he couldn't move to look at her, didn't know he had the strength to look into those eyes in fear of seeing her sorrow. And yet, still, a part of him was dying to...if only to feel the desire to take that sorrow away, and perhaps, to do just that. ALEXANDRIA:The sound of his voice relaxed her and made her feel peaceful in that very moment. It was as if the troubles of what had happened earlier were melting away and were being forgotten--or replaced with what she was feeling now. At some point, she had unknowingly to herself, closed her eyes and focused on just his humming. She could almost feel his cheek touching hers, and it left her feeling nervous. Her once icy hand now warmed inside of the grasp of his one hand, while the other rested on top of his shoulder, fingertips lightly pressing against him. She wondered if he could feel the heat that was radiating from her cheeks and she hoped he could not feel or hear the sound of her heart that pounded within her chest. He felt warm. And for the longest time, in this moment, she did too. Was this alright to feel this way? She wasn't sure and it only left her feeling more confused and lost. Was it simply that she missed Eoin and her mind wanted that feeling back? To have someone hold her, to be close to her...but this wasn't him and she knew that. She knew just in the way he held her there against him in their swaying dance. It was different...but yet, it drew her in despite how badly she wanted to shut it out and run away. She was afraid to look at him, then. Afraid to see whatever expression was held upon his features. Her head had tilted down a bit more, her forehead nearly resting upon his shoulder near where her hand rested, and her eyes remained closed. She couldn't help but wonder what went on in his mind at this moment... Or what she would do if Orin were to walk into the room... Nemesis' words rang out in her mind, just then…What if Eoin had lived? Would she be here where she was right now? So many what ifs. And Alexandria had no answers for any of them. But then there were the other questions... Who was this man she was with? What had his life been like? Who is he? Still they knew very little about him. A man she thought she would despise for the rest of her life for agreeing to go along with his brother's arrangement...A man that would trap her into this marriage and life...Yet...why every time she saw him, she felt a flutter in her stomach? She wanted to know who he was...To learn everything about him. There was something she could feel within her that made her just want to know him...To be his friend. But no questions could be asked in this moment. Their shared silence and his humming lulled her into feeling as if she were in some sort of trance. The world around them no longer existed and everything was gone except for the two of them, and the floor that held them up under their feet. ARIC:A part of him felt this was wrong as he slowly became more aware of their closeness. It had been almost a year since he held someone like this, that he was comfortable with being there and unafraid to show it. But it was not the same for her...at least, it didn't seem that way when she shared with him that aspect of her life, the man she had lost during the war. And here he was, daring to get so close, unable to comprehend why because he had told himself and made it clear that such feelings would never claim him again. Were they feelings? As faint as they were, it was something...something that made him want to remain at her side, keep that smile on her face. It could simply be friendship, that comfort of a familiar presence. He knew, at least, that much was true. But he couldn't help but turn his head slightly, daring to lift his eyes over to her, to look at her and see the gentle flush to her cheeks. Somehow, for some reason, that small a thing made him happy, almost childishly amused because he had caused it. He would think her stronger and wise to break free from him if she were uncomfortable in a more negative way...maybe the deeper, darker part of him wanted her to... Despite himself, his hand that held hers moved to rest between them; uncurling a finger so that he could brush it against her chin, to lift that face and see those eyes, drawing him so close...far too close... >>> BABY, I GET DARK AND THEN YOU MAKE IT . L I G H T . <<< ARIC: Gritting his teeth, he was silently reprimanding himself for losing control. Perhaps it was warranted, but he shouldn't have done it. Not right now, not right after she had woken up, whether she had unintentionally hurt him or not. His mind was all a jumbled mess, but when she reached out for his hand, he was instantly at her side without question, seating himself at the edge of the bed. "Just relax," he tried to tell her while she struggled to explain. He was shaking his head because she wasn't the only one that needed to apologize. "Please, just relax." Leaning forward, he was brushing the hair from her face again. "I messed up," he whispered in reply. "But I feel like it was the only chance I had to keep you all safe, at least for a while." One step at a time. All this political crap was never solved in a single night. She should know this. "I've never wanted Aralore; you know I've never wanted any of this." He paused, brow furrowing as he contemplated his next words, not as afraid to admit anything as much anymore. "But there is nowhere else I want to be. I will gladly give up this crown if it means I can stand beside you. Just a man, completely devoted."
ALEXANDRIA: She tried to relax at Aric's plea, but she shook her head. She just couldn't. Her eyes searched his as he spoke to her now. Each time he admitted to her that he never wanted Aralore or any of this, it tugged at her heart. She wanted him to be happy here, to want to be her husband. And she wasn't sure if he still felt that way or not. But then he spoke, admitting to her that he would give up the crown and stand beside her completely devoted. She laid there in silence, staring at him, then. Her fingers weaved their way into his own, and she lightly squeezed his hand. "Aric... I..." She hesitated, the pain still causing her to struggle to speak, but she forced her way through it. "I... tried so hard..." She started to choke up tears again, afraid to say what she really wanted to say. But she forced herself to, no longer wanting to hide or hold secrets. He needed to know. He needed to know how she felt. So he would know she did not think of him as a tyrant. "...Not to fall in love with you... But you have made it so incredibly difficult..." She looked away from him, embarrassed then to have admitted. Afraid that he did not feel the same and would see her as a foolish girl.
ARIC:
Perhaps she was only foolish because she was completely oblivious to how he felt. Or maybe he hadn't been obvious enough. He watched her face as she struggled to speak, admiring the strength he still saw in those eyes, a strength she couldn't see herself. His thumb was there to catch every tear again, listening patiently to her tell him what he- somehow deep down- already knew. She confessed how difficult it was to avoid her feelings...and he was about to prove just how truly and incredibly difficult it would remain. Fingers were grasping her chin to turn her face back towards him. "I'm sorry," he whispered. For Tresteria, for this alliance, for the pain she had to endure both physically and emotionally through it all. For the discomfort he might cause her as he leaned forward to finally claim her lips in a kiss that was long overdue. A kiss that was both passionate and yet gentle, daring to take her breath away.
help me out of this h e l l your LOVE lifts me up like helium your love lifts me up when I'm d o w n, when I've hit the ground you're all I NEED ARIC: He could only move his gaze from Alexandria very briefly, watching as the priest bound their hands in that silken ribbon. But when allowed, he was watching the queen in amazement, still wondering how he had been so fortunate to get here. Upon needing to speak their vows, that was his cue to begin. Nervously, he reached for her other hand, running a thumb across her white knuckles as he studied those slender digits and spoke, "I find myself, every morning, wondering how lucky I am to be here. How fortunate I was to be blessed with such a woman who has managed to draw me from the very darkness of my own mind and into the light of her heart. Even while she battles her own demons, she has successfully helped me fight off my own." Those dark eyes rose to find her face again, fighting every urge to ruin this ceremony and kiss her. "You, Alexandria, have proved that there is still good in this world. That there is still a life to live, a purpose to fulfill. Against all odds, you somehow found it in you to love a broken man like me...and I will spend the rest of my life making it up to you, proving to you that you are- and will always be- the best thing to happen to me when I thought I was forever lost. I love you, with every piece of my being..."
ALEXANDRIA: Everything about this ceremony was perfect. The view from the cliffs, the candle lighting.. Cassandra had set everything up and she couldn't be more appreciative. Her attention remained on the priest as he spoke, eyes moving to their hands as the ribbon was tied around them. She squeezed his hand lightly underneath the ribbon and smiled softly, glancing back to him when she could. As it was time to say their vows, she turned and let her gaze fall on Aric as he spoke, never leaving his eyes. At his words, her eyes began to well up with tears, but her smile never wavered. He had already told her all of these things before, but it still moved her. He felt fortunate and blessed? It was her who should be feeling these things for him, and she very much did. When Aric finished his vow, she whispered, barely audible, but her lips moved to say, "I love you..." It was her turn now, and she honestly wasn't sure she would be able to say how she really felt, or even begin to put it into words, but she would try. She inhaled deeply and held it for a moment, glancing down at their hands first before she found Aric's eyes again. "I was a woman lost in my own darkness...a war that had taken nearly everything away and I felt I had failed my people... my home...my own life. I was quickly losing all hope I had left. And then you were sent to me with very little expectation. This was not your home, your family, your life... But you did whatever you could to help. You became a friend to me...and then something more. You opened your heart to me despite feeling it was broken and unattainable. And you found your way into my heart... Two hearts...one soul." She smirked as she repeated his words to her last night. "Two broken hearts from one soul...had to search through all the darkness to find one another. And it happened. Quickly and out of nowhere..." She sighed softly and squeezed both his hands. "I am forever in your debt for all you have done for me.... and for Aralore. We would be honored to have you for our king.. This is now your home... And I promise to always keep you in my light... to never let you slip away into the darkness again. I will love you now and always..."
