ABOUT STEFAN ::
- Stefan was the older child out of two, born to Gregory and Elizabeth Gifford. He has a sister who is ten years younger than him. His father was in the military and his mother was a florist and works in the royal gardens.
- He was born and raised in Aralore, expected to follow in his father’s footsteps with being part of Aralore’s army. He began training at a very young age to ensure that he had the advantage of advancing quickly in the ranks. (This is what his father expected of him).
- Gregory was a strict father who raised Stefan harshly, often beating him for the smallest wrong-doings or mistakes. He only stopped when Stefan grew taller than he did and could easily fight back.
- When his sister was born, his father was a completely different person around her. She was his girl and could do no wrong. He was protective of her and loved her fiercely. Stefan was also extremely protective of her, hoping that their father did not abuse her.
- However, Gregory constantly abused Elizabeth (his mother), taking out his anger and frustrations on her. She never fought back or wanted to leave him out of fear that it would ruin her life further. Gregory never abused her when Stefan was around, but there had been times where he would return home after a long day of training, and find his mother bruised and with some new cut on her.
- One day, when Stefan came home and found his mother unresponsive on the floor, with a deep gash to her cheek, he threw his father out of the home and told him to never come back. His sister left that day, too, as she had always had a better relationship with their father than with their mother.
- Stefan has no idea where his sister or father are, but he continues to live with his mother to help her however he can.
- He continued to train, fought in Aralore’s war and eventually found a position as a guard in the castle. When he helped fight off the Saelis attackers at the banquet when the Tresterian King was visiting, he had been one of the only guards left standing in the room.
- Stefan was appointed by Orin Evans to become one of Alexandria Eveleigh- Demarais ’s personal guards, which he takes the job very seriously. He had saved Queen Alexandria from King Edward’s abuse and had proved himself worthy of being her guard several times over.
He also saved the King Consort (Aric Demarais ’s) life on their way to Tresteria, when he fell into the ocean during a bad storm. He dove in after him and saved him before he completely drowned. - He fears turning into his father and often has to remind himself that he is nothing like him. He also fears that he will someday come back, or that he will find out bad news about his sister.
- He doesn't talk much about his past or his family life because he doesn't want pity or judgement from others. He is used to being judged because of his size alone, and doesn't need anything else to add to it.
