As she took hold, Lycus jumped and swung his leg up and over with her help to slip onto the beast's back, settling comfortably behind her. Already too comfortable, that is. He didn't quite understand what her endgame was with this little charade...but he wasn't questioning it. He quite liked it actually, especially when she urged him to hold on. The wolf had no problem slipping an arm around that tiny waist, feeling how she rested back against him.
When the horse suddenly moved into a trot, though, it left him momentarily unsettled. No, he'd never ridden without a saddle and not being in control had him already a little on edge. A part of him didn't like it, didn't trust the beast, but the other half of him was willing to try. In actuality, it was that part of him that wanted to trust her.
Xahrina took his hands again, and that sudden strange calm washed over him. He didn't understand it, but was it her? Was it simply her compelling presence that did this or was it...something more? He could feel the anger that was buried deep down inside begin to quiet, the need to completely throw himself into a rage suddenly a foreign thought. Lycus was drawing in a deep breath, bowing his head while he shut his eyes, his face lingering so close to the curve of her neck that he could smell her skin. He could almost taste it.
Although he felt that curious serenity, his mind still worried. Not about the horse, per say, but everything that awaited him when he returned. No matter of calming power could kill these thoughts and silence them. Only fury and blood could. Lycus clenched his jaws as his eyes opened; one of his hands moving on its own to press a palm against the flat of her stomach, holding there against him still. "What of burdens that await in the shadows? Lingering...watching..." he asked, his voice near her ear. "A fight that I must...have control over?" His words held a dark tone but there was slight insinuation; a mind fighting battles on two different fields. If only it were as easy to forget and let go, to remain here and oblivious of the rest of the island...but he could not.

If he asked what she was doing, it was to try and figure him out more, to get more information and to learn why this was all happening now. She wasn't playing him, she continued to be honest with him but she was going to continue to try and nudge out more information from him.
Xahrina was at home on the back of a horse, her body knowing how to move with the animal so as to ease the jostling that happened and she hoped him holding onto her body would help him feel the motion of it and how calm she was on the horses back. Silently she made a mental promise to not let him get hurt, that might just go bad if he did on her lands and with her horse.
Her head would tilt to the side some as his head bent down to the crook of her neck, his breath tickling her skin there. She had to take a little breath so as to not let her mind wander with how it felt to have a man against such an intimate part of her- well to her it was intimate. The neck was a vulnerability for anyone so letting him that close was a test on herself about trust as well. Her scent was a mix of wild grass and flowers, she didn't smell like a horse even though she spent her life with them- though her clothing probably did.
The words that came from him, had her head turning some, a hand covering his that rested over her stomach as he held her body against his easily. "Then watch them back...study them and deal with them in a way that others might not expect," she told him softly. Her hand would lift up to touch the side of his face, "Then control that fight but also know that not everything is in your control, knowing that- understanding that- will afford you more control and confidence than you would know." she told him, "The mind is powerful,Lycus. Will power, is powerful." She told him softly. "You can plan, calculate, and then be patient as you find the right time to strike and when you do, don't hesitate," Xahrina told him, her fingers rubbing the side of his face.
"Lycus...it is ok to just be for a moment. To let your mind slip for a moment, you might find that you can think of things a little better after a moment of peace and not thinking," Xahrina told him gently, not wanting to step on toes really but sometimes the best solutions came after just being and doing without thinking. She might not know what is troubling his mind but maybe if she helped him just relax he would talk a little about what is on his mind and what had him troubled.

It was strange- he should have been lying to her right off the bat, but he wasn't. He was holding things back, of course, but he certainly wasn't lying to her when he felt like he was lying to the entire world. To tell anyone everything that was going on in that head of his could put them in danger. Despite Xahrina still being a stranger, there was something familiar about her, something that made her feel as though she wasn't. And he wasn't here to see her hurt. It was never his intention.
Yet, he also hadn't anticipated a betrothal or to be exactly where he was now. Funny how some things just happened.
With his face so near that gentle slope of where her neck met her shoulder, Lycus had to hold himself back from tasting her skin, from feeling the need to press his lips against the soft, vulnerable spot. It was like this wolfish instinct already kicking in, to claim what could be his and no one else's. He didn't understand it, he didn't know this woman, but the prospect was...intriguing. It did something to him, made the crazed part of his mind temporarily settle while his blood boiled for an entirely different reason.
Had this been her intention? Was this another test, was she weaving some unseen spell on him?
At her words, she'd feel his hot breath as he let out a slow and tired sigh. She made everything sound so easy, but it wasn't. At least not in his case. He was running out of time, he could no longer wait and observe. That was the very problem. If he did not strike soon, and fast, everything would spiral and be lost. But then...he could very well lose himself in the process.
Lycus let those fingers of hers gently lull him into whatever calm he could find, his arms ever so slowly engulfing her as she would feel the tension in his body begin to subside. Although he didn't reply or acknowledge her words in any way, he had been listening; shutting his eyes as if to block out the stress that awaited him the moment they parted.
"I have this...beast inside of me," he finally spoke. He wouldn't have to speak loudly over the horse's hoof beats because she would hear him near her ear again. His tone was a weird mix of sounding so matter-of-fact and of tired defeat. "And I cannot control it. It...feeds on my anger, my emotions...and I am not myself." Lycus didn't clarify, but he wasn't speaking metaphorically, not really. Nor was there an actual beast that took over him. "It's a blinding rage...that consumes..." The moment he started speaking, he couldn't seem to stop.

Today was turning into one of the most interesting days, next to days where people thought they were above the law but no, this was different. She didn't get it but she liked it and she trusted that the spirits around them sent him here for a reason. He had to be strong-willed to even dare to step foot onto another territory and brave to come without weapons. She wondered if that was the main reason she was more willing to give him the benefit of her initial trust.
A brief shiver ran through her with how close he was to her skin, the feel of his warm breath heating the area and making her heart flutter in her chest. She might be able to keep herself calm on the outside but on the inside, her heart was fluttering, she wanted to see if he was willing to do what it took to calm the wild mare that she was, to harness her strengths and be that protector that her people wanted but also what she craved. Yes, she was strong and relished in it but even the strong needed someone they could be vulnerable with.
Calmly, her fingers brushed across his face and along his jaw. She felt this overwhelming need to just calm him, to let him feel some form of peace- even for a little while. She didn't think for a moment that he was ignoring her, he was just silently taking it in as he had been since he arrived. So for the time, she let them just ride in silence, the horse slowing his pace to a walk as he led them into one of the herds of friesians that they had.
Xahrina would turn her head a little as he spoke, listening silently as he described this beast inside him. Was this why she felt such a strong urge to help him find his calm? Could she sense that side of him? For a moment, she didn't know what to say to him, letting it settle and letting him speak of it, "Tell me about this beast, this side of you, please" she asked him, her tone gentle and without a trace of judgment in it. "I will not judge you for it Lycus, you have my word," she promised him, wanting him to hear that so he might feel freer to speak- a part of her also just liking his voice as well.

He was hesitating now. There was this side of him that he didn't fully understand, that he couldn't control, and it made him uneasy to just speak of. Why had he even mentioned it to her to begin with? Perhaps it was because she mentioned control, of taking his time before daring to strike. Maybe because it was a lot harder for him to do such a thing when overwhelming emotion was involved. Anger led to this violent rage and he didn't understand why. It was something he had dealt with for as long as he could remember, something his mother had always been able to bring him down from.
Now, it was Aspen who happened to be the only one capable. Or so he thought.
The wolf was quiet again for a long moment before he finally opened his eyes. Holding his hands out in front of both of them, he peered over her shoulder at his palms as though remembering them painted in crimson red and dirt. "It's this...immense power," he said lowly. Then his voice wavered just slightly, remembering just a bit more even if he never could recall the entirety of an episode. "This all consuming violence...when it happens, all I see is red...all I want is the kill..."
Although she asked, he wondered if he should stop speaking. "It...gets to a point...where I don't even remember myself." Lycus paused, refraining from letting out a sigh. Although his voice was quiet, he struggled to keep himself from showing weakness. "I'm no longer myself," he added.

Xahrina didn't move away from him, she listened to him quietly and waited, showing she was more than patient for him to start talking again. It sounded like a heavy subject for him and so she was able to give him that quiet patience he might need to start talking to her and building on this bridge between them.
As he held his hands out in front of her, as if showing her that they were covered in something but she didn't see that. If he did though, she was inclined to believe he held this within him, something he couldn't control. She carefully moved her hands to rest under his, cupping them gently.
"Do you remember anything from these episodes?" she asked him gently, trying to understand a little more of this. She to held her own secret but it was calm. She was always able to keep that peacefulness about her, almost to the point where some people thought she was submissive in all things but she wasn't. She's never been easy to anger or make upset but showing more was always a struggle with her and she had to always be mindful to show that she was multisided than the one calm force she was.
"Lycus, what you tell me here stays between us, you have my word, I want to know about you; the good and the bad," she told him, her thumbs gently rubbing the side of his hands as her voice kept that soft gentleness about it. She didn't wholly know why she was so persistent at finding out about this but she wanted to know, wanted to learn about this man- even the darkness inside him. She wanted to tell him what she could do, some strange gift she had been born with but no one know nor asked, they just believed it was what it was and a part of her feared that it would anger him or others knowing this.

It was strange how this gift, whatever it could be could, gave him such strength...but weakened him all the same. It was dangerous, made him dangerous, and he lacked control on it. No matter how hard he tried. It was also difficult to explain and he wondered if he was making any sense at all.
At least she wasn't laughing or looking to him as though he were insane. Perhaps she understood a little bit of what he was trying to say. The funny thing was, Lycus knew he would have told her more about it if he knew more himself. Right now, it was a mystery, something that had suddenly happened years ago when he came of age. A blessing and a curse. The bane of his existence. There was no one he knew besides Aspen that could draw him from that darkness..and the very idea did frighten him.
Maybe he was telling Xahrina to warn her, to give her a chance to back out of this alliance before he could do any damage. Truthfully, he didn't know. She wanted honesty, so she was getting it.
"Not their entirety, no," he answered after a moment of deliberation. "I always black out- my mind blacks out...and then I'm told more had happened." And how does that even work? How was his body still going when his mind was blank? Was something else, something "other" taking hold during that time? That was the troubling part, and even a hard-headed, brave wolf like Lycus was concerned about the idea.
Tired eyes studied their hands still, his chin resting upon her shoulder somewhat comfortably. "There's...more bad than good, I'm afraid." It was what he believed anyway. How could one have a shred of good left within him when he was prepared to do something unseemly? When he was turning his back on his clan, even if it was to save them?

Xahrina was patient, wanting to hear what it was with him, why this affected him so. Even if it was a warning of a sort, it didn't scare her in the slightest. Anger and rage were something people had but it seemed to affect him more than others. "I'm sorry to hear that, truly," she told him. To black out and not know what happens until someone informs you? That was beyond rough.
"When the good happens though, is it worth it, even with the bad?" she asked him gently, letting her head lean against his own as her fingers kept playing with his hands. He had trusted her thus far and she needed to do the same then for him with herself.
"You are not the only one with something...strange that goes on with them. I find that I rarely and I mean only twice I can remember being truly angry and able to lash out about it but...I don't get angry. Ever. I can get upset but it fades away, mentally I can be screaming and swearing but I wouldn't be able to express that. I express myself in other ways but...anger is so rare- people love it that I never do but it's strange," she told him. It probably sounded strange to him, never being able to get mad probably was a boon but sometimes she wished she could just be angry. She had to express that in other forms- it's why she was strict with punishments that were doled out, she couldn't be seen as weak.
"There are two sides to every coin- good and bad. Dark and light. Anger and calm. Hate and love" she told him softly. Xahrina was wholly spiritual on this and it oddly felt fitting that the man she was willing to pair herself with was the literal opposite of her temperament.
"I'm not scared of the bad that might come being with you or your rage that you have- so long as you'd promise to let me try to help if I can," she asked him then. Her fingers rubbing and playing with his hands as she took a soft breath, her eyes closing as she let her body relax fully with him nestled against her neck and shoulder. This felt good and peaceful to her, silently she would enjoy this with him, no one else around watching. She allowed herself to just be right now.

It certainly was a warning that, for whatever reason, he figured she was entitled to. If this alliance went through, she was bound to find out about it, even if he always tried really hard to keep it at bay. But when his emotions ran hot, when that anger rose, sometimes it was impossible. And the rabid beast took over.
It was frightening. Perhaps it was the only thing that actually ever scared him.
'When the good happens, though, is it worth it, even with the bad?' That brought him some pause, and he sighed lightly, in both contentment at her closeness as well as the heavy burden that dark beast caused. "Maybe," he finally told her, unsure on how to really answer. Did he have happiness in his life? Certainly the times he was able to spend with his sister and with those he called comrades. Those were worth it, were they not?
What Lycus hadn't expected was to hear her own little secret. It would seem she dealt with something similar...yet not. There were two sides to every coin, as she said, and for a fleeting moment he was actually wondering if, perhaps, this woman was the other side of his own. That, what if, she was possibly all the good to all of his bad? It was silly to think about, of course, considering they had just met. A lot had happened in this little time, things he hadn't anticipated.
But what she said did sound a bit strange. She was unable to get mad? How was that even possible? It left him a bit confused and speechless since it was such an unfathomable idea for him...but then he recalled the weird calm that had consumed him when she touched him. The calmness he felt now with her. He didn't understand it, yet maybe he didn't have to. It was a sense, a feeling. Delightfully frightening as well.
"I suppose...that explains a lot," he said quietly, still peering over her shoulder at their hands. "As to why I don't feel that...darkness right now. It's...like it's dormant. Simply waiting..." For what? When they parted? Was this gift of hers able to suppress that rage inside him or was this just a new thing, a crazy hopeful feeling he was subconsciously clinging to?
'I'm not scared of the bad that might come being with you or your rage that you have- so long as you'd promise to let me try to help if I can.' His lips were parting before his mind could stop the reply that immediately spilled forth, so quiet at her ear, "And what if I'm scared of it?" And what it has done and could still do.

It was certainly something she would keep in mind, a slight part of her wondering how he was when or if children came into the picture should the alliance forge on. Yet, something inside her told her that he wasn’t a monster. He was explaining this beast and it sounded similar to her own save that she had the vastly different effect of always being this calm entity that rarely flared up in anger to anyone or anything.
Her fingers started to play with his, just an absent-minded bit of attention that she wasn’t even paying attention to that she was doing. She would tilt her head to lean against him, “You need more good in your life my friend,” she told him with a little smile. It was said gently to him since she had no reason to believe that he didn’t have happiness in his life she just felt he might need more to see that the beast won’t win at everything.
It was hard for her to actually tell him because it really sounded insane or ridiculous. She never actually told anyone this and the fleeting times she was angry, she had seen flashes of red and wanted to beat the man senseless without remorse or compassion but still, it was rare to witness on her part. She would look at him, wanting him to see she wasn’t telling a tall tale or trying to just gain something, she was being honest with him as she really did want this to work.
Xahrina would slip into a silence with him, the horse just moving at an easier pace with its riders on top. The beast had taken them well into the herd of horses, all stocky and build for work of some fashion.
As he told her that, she looked a mix of surprised and a little happy to be able to relieve that in him, “Let it sleep than while you’re with me.” she told him with a little smile, leaning to him some and kissing near his temple, “It sounds like you are often haunted by that inside of you, as it waits for its chance to rear its head. So, if I can help ease that while you are here, I happily will do so,” she told him. Xahrina wanted to help him keep his calm, she was rather sure that while calm he would be an unstoppable force but then again when he rages she was sure he was that as well. It was a mixed thing, both could help him but one was causing him some distress and she wanted to just ease it on him.
That silent confession would have her taking one of her hands, using it to place that arm back around her waist, and then her touch moved up to his face, “That is ok as well. I can only imagine how you’ve handled it all these years but something about fear ghaoil , you can overcome it. You have this yes but that means- to me at least- that you have a great strength knowing about this and being wary of it constantly,” she told him. She would let her fingers rub his cheek gently and up to his hair now, her fingers playing with his locks to just add on something that was soothing as well. “You know what scares me?” she asked him softly, her eyes closing as she leaned into him, “I fear I will never be enough for anyone. For my people. Even for myself. Each day what I do is for them and those I love but never for myself… I fear as if I am being selfish now just wanting your time because I like how it feels when you look at me, or how I have so far enjoyed how you speak to me,” Xahrina told him softly. It felt odd for her to even just go off with a stranger without someone nearby but she was glad to, it didn’t feel like a risk she was taking but yet her mind was rebelling some about how she just left without a second thought with him, he wasn’t part of her clan but yet she just wanted to selfishly spend some time with him to get to know him- or was that even selfish? Her mind was a little bit tossed because this was a very new level of new for her.

He felt like a monster sometimes. It was horribly unnerving to wake up from one of these blackouts to find that you came close to severely hurting someone you hadn't intended to when your mind wasn't your own. When you could have killed someone you were close to or cared for. The more he recalled all of this, the more he realized he shouldn't be here. He shouldn't have made this kind of alliance. It was a prime opportunity to get exactly what he wanted...but at what cost? His father still lived and would not approve, did not know what his son was doing behind his back, Lycus feared he might lose his temper at the worst of times...and then what would happen?
His chin rested gently upon her shoulder as they rode, as though they had known each other for quite some time and this simple intimacy was normal. Maybe it was that gift of hers making him not care that it was strange...or maybe it just wasn't strange to begin with. That was kind of a weird thought, but it barely made him think twice about it. Not right now, at least.
Those vivid blues rose up to notice the horses around them on the wide, open plain and how peaceful it was, how warm the sun felt, how warm she felt resting against him. 'Let it sleep then while you're with me.' She made it sound so easy and inviting to simply forget the concern, forget who he was and the fact that should probably be trying to kill each other right now. It was what Ookami would have wanted. Eyes closed over when she pressed a kiss to his temple. "I am...haunted," he confessed quietly, shifting his head enough to subtly press his lips to her shoulder without much thought. The corner of his mouth would curl up in a faint grin as those blues opened to focus on nothing in particular. "And what should I do...when I am not here?" he mused, not really expecting her to have an answer. It was more of a thought he simply decided to say out loud.
When she expressed her own worries, he focused on her voice and allowed her to draw his arm back around her more. He certainly wouldn't complain about that, and he even sighed softly in contentment against the side of her neck. "Why would you think...you could not be enough?" This actually surprised him a bit, and Lycus wasn't often surprised, nor did he hide that fact from his tone. What she said after, however, made him feel warmer. It made him feel strange...but a good kind of strange. "And I think you should be doing things for yourself more often..." he added softly, and she'd hear his voice right by her ear. "Because I might enjoy this a little too much as well..."

It was hard for her to understand how Lycus wholly felt, she never truly felt as he described but she could imagine the way it felt to not have the control he wanted to have over it. The fact that he admitted it scared him was enough to show how much he meant it and didn’t enjoy it and something inside her just wanted to stay close to him and help, to just be there for him. It was something strange, they just met but yet she was willingly giving him her hand in marriage because it seemed right- a man from a different clan.
With how close they were right now, his head resting lightly on her shoulder with her own hands just holding his against her or her other hand playing with her fingers, it just felt good. She felt good right now, a new form of peace laced with playfulness because of this man. Right now, she didn’t question it like him, she just wanted to stay like this for as long as she could.
Xahrina noticed him finally looking around and seeing the various horses that grazed peacefully and not minding them at all, she gave him a little smile as he seemed to enjoy the sights in front of him. The feel of his lips though on her skin made her own eyes close, her hand moving to touch him again, “I don’t have a cure all for that…just a suggestion- be around or do things that help ease the feeling. We all have ghosts but how you handle them is what matters,” she told him gently, “Well while your not here, keep hold of the horse pendant I made, let it remind you that I am a short ride away and will help calm you in the end,” she told him. It was a promise. The Chieftess didn’t overly know why she was promising this but she was and wanted him to know that she’d welcome him back any time he came around. She also selfishly wanted to be around him as he made her actually want to dip her toes into other possible emotions.
Xahrina sighed and tilted her head to the side a bit before looking ahead, “Because I do not have the protection support that all of our leaders have had with a partner. Leading and protecting go hand in hand but doing it alone and having to make sure you are doing it all for your people…I worry I am not doing all I can and am not giving all I can,” she told him as her head then turned to him for that. Now a playful smile rose to her lips, his voice had already sent shivers down her spine. She would turn to face him a little more, “Would you now?” she asked and if he didn’t stop her, she would lean in the short distance between them to press her lips against him- there now she was attempting to do something she wanted.

Lycus didn't know why or how he was so openly sharing information with this woman. If he wasn't careful, he'd be saying too much, and things he couldn't take back. Right now this was a risk, a far bigger risk than Xahrina believed. His father hadn't sent him here. The Wynfrid Alpha would probably whip his son for his insolence and audacity to strike up an alliance like this, with an "enemy". There were things she did not know, things not even Aspen knew of...and it had to stay that way. Just for awhile longer. So, perhaps, his time here in the Oisen camp should be short-lived. The longer he stayed, the harder it might be to regain control.
It was just very hard to care about much of anything right now with this exotic woman just resting against him, as if they had known each other weeks now or even months. She willingly allowed a wolf into her home and she did not fear him. And that did something to him that he couldn't completely explain. But it was dangerous. Beautifully dangerous.
He kept his face near her neck, softly nuzzling her every so often as she spoke. If only it were that easy, but he'd be damned if he didn't try. Maybe he wondered if his mind would completely change, if he would "come to his senses" the moment he left Oisen territory...but she was making it increasingly difficult to think that he could so easily forget her. Or this.
The wolf's expression sobered a little as she explained how she didn't feel like she had the support of her people, at least not as much as previous leaders. It was a little hard to believe, just from what he already knew of her, what he could sense of her. The Oisen were a strong although peaceful clan. They did not outright cause problems in Aldsage, nor did they cower when a problem had to be dealt with, and she was maintaining that. And Lycus might have managed to say all of this and more, but she was gaining his attention again.
Oh, she had his full attention now.
This sudden brazen move on her part surprised him, yet the surprise only lasted a second. In a moment of not understanding what came over him (or even caring), one of his hands rose to filter into that black hair and draw her somehow even closer to him; holding her steadfast as his mouth slanted fervidly against her own. It was probably a good thing that they were not on solid ground right now.

Xahrina wasn't even sure why she was confiding in him so much, she barely spoke of her worries to anyone because she did not want to seem weak or incompetent. She knew she wasn't but having to put on that powerful air about her and showing how strong she constantly is, did make a woman tired occasionally and he didn't seem to mind her talking.
Their talking though seemed to melt into something else entirely as she had faced him and kissed him, taking the initiative with something she'd only thought of for a moment but then sounded like a perfect idea and he seemed to like it.
The feel of his fingers tangling into her hair as he pulled her against him more was all the encouragement that she needed to kiss him right back and actually turn and adjust herself on the horse. Lycus would find that one moment she was with her back against him and the next she was turned to face him without breaking the kiss- though now he would feel a grin on her lips as she settled with her legs over his now.
A soft breathy sound left her as she kissed him more, her hand sliding up and into his hair while her thumb played with his jaw. This felt good, this didn't feel wrong in the slightest and in this moment- to her at least- there were no opposing clans. Just two people taking a breath from the world and enjoying something so simple yet passionate as a kiss.

It was hard to be a leader and feel like you had a right to any sort of emotion. His father made it difficult to believe both were possible, even when Lycus knew better. The man wasn't overly abusive, at least not in the physical sense, but both he and Aspen received different verbal treatment, both harsh in different ways. It made him question how he did things, sometimes it was a reason for his often brash behavior. If anyone knew what he was planning, they probably wouldn't think he was suited to be Alpha. But the thing was...he was doing all of this for his people. To better their lives.
Sometimes, to be a good leader, you had to sacrifice your own feelings and desires.
Then again...
Apparently they didn't need to be on the ground. This enigmatic woman was somehow managing to surprise him further, easily and swiftly turning in her place on the back of this horse as though it weren't a moving animal beneath them. As if gravity wasn't even a factor. If she hadn't still been kissing him, he might have gaped at her, perhaps questioned how she managed to do it...but he didn't care the moment she was fully facing him; those long legs draped over his own.
In truth, he should have found this unnerving, because now he wasn't fully paying attention as to where they were going. It seemed that the horse had been leading the way this entire time and Xahrina hadn't been steering him, but still. Lycus might have broken the kiss, but feeling that grin cross her lips made it difficult to even care about anything else. She probably knew exactly what she was doing, and that was completely captivating him. Right now, they could just fall right off that damn horse and he wouldn't much care. The thought had his other hand drop to one of her knees, slinking its way up her thigh before his arm was wrapping about her waist- abruptly drawing her just a little bit closer. You know, for safety.
Now, he was grinning against her mouth.
Lycus eventually broke the kiss, pulling away just enough to look at her with amusement glinting in those vivid blues, his fingers still curled into her hair. "Is this...another unique gift of yours? So...easily enthralling men?" he asked lowly, and he was only half kidding. Even if it were true, it might have been quite clear that the wolf didn't care in the least as his head bowed, pressing kisses along her jawline.
