The Gilded Scale's sign hung aloft outside the main entry way into the shop and forge it was made of purple heart wood giving it a beautiful purple shine in gold and silver filigree the letters The Gilded Scale with an image of scale mail armor shining from the metal filigree below allowing anyone to see and know what the shop was even if by chance they could not read very well ; the building itself was of a modest two story size allowing a display room downstairs where guests would find themselves surrounded by carefully arranged goods for sale. To the left of the store stood armor on polished wood models that wore the armor for display there was Scale Mail in a variety of colors from bronze, to armor that had been plated gold and silver, even custom armor that could be worn with finery made for balls or other private affairs. From leather; scale mail, chain mail, plate armor and wooden shields and metal all could be found on display. Every day they shined with cleaning and polishing as soon as Quinton came down from his spare room upstairs in the morning when he spent the night, or when he returned from his house the next day.
In the middle of the room was a glass case with a lock that displayed necklaces; bracelets; & rings with gem stones, plus some without gem stones each of Quinton's own design he also specialized in full filling requests that required a specific design should say anyone wish to have nature or any living creature or one of legend to be carefully detailed on them. The room was polished and cleaned with a purple cotton cloth cushioned chairs and benches in three spots should customers need to be more comfortable waiting while he attended other clients. He was even willing to offer tea or water to customers; putting customer service and carefully made craftsmanship as the highest priority. Making them happy made him happy; if there was something wrong with an order he did his utmost to fix it for them without any grievances. The Interior of the shop had the walls painted with scrolling green vines with yellow and white honey suckles along the borders of the walls to brighten the room. At the desk was a chain with a little wooden handle that could be pulled to ring a bell at the forge.
Behind the shop was his forge and a well that he would draw water when needed; he covered it when he was not using it with a round wooden board to keep animals or anything else from leaning too far in or being dropped in. The Bell hung right near the forge so he could hear it even if he was working, he had a variety of different burning materials he used based on what he was going for, the hearth of the forge was welcoming and warm especially on cold winter days, and often he found his time easily passed by making things when business slowed down during the winter months save for special holidays; anniversaries; or the event of being called to service for war in one fashion or another. There was a place he could set his foot to push up and down on the bellows so he had constant air flow while working on armor or accessories at the forge.
Quinton was coming from his home just now a fur bear cloak wrapped around his shoulders, he dressed as warm as possible, having the inside of his clothing woven with the blue cotton fabric to provide an extra layer during the winter his long wavy red hair was a bright contrast against the dark brown bear skin and the winter scenery. His beard was about three inches long, he trimmed it down often so it wouldn't interfere with work he did not want it to catch fire there had been times he had to wash out pieces of metal that got sent flying into his beard while forging though. As he approached his shop he took out his key pushing it through the lock he turned and then entered the shop. Making his way to the stairs on the right where he had a thick silk braided rope tied from one end to the other to show it was barred from customers. A sign with a red x and Please do Not enter. carefully written for guests to see. It was very rare that he would invite someone upstairs it was part storage space and a resting space for Quinton with a large couch and a single bed in the back with a nightstand and candle. He hung his cloak up on a hook went to a bronze mirror he made he took a wooden comb untied his hair and combed through it till he was smooth enough to tie back again. Adjusting his topaz blue long sleeve tunic with matching internal fur lined breeches a buckskin vest had been sewn together with a pocket at his breast with a topaz blue handkerchief inside. Going downstairs he began cleaning, everything once more he would be tending the shop for a good portion of the day with everything he had in stock for now. It would mostly be him waiting for clients to come and inspect goods to see if there was anything of interest or if they had a special request for now.
