Pearces sleepy confusion made him chuckle. It was always endearing watching him try to slog past the half asleep haze that he worked through every morning. Eventually he'd wake up but it was still adorable watching him try. "There he is." Zander teased as the marquis finally sat up awake. "Welcome to the land of the living."
Watching him rub his temples made the redhead furrow his brow in concern. "You alright, love?" He asked as he ran his fingers through the blondes hair. It had seemed he'd had a headache the night before as well. Worry rushed through him suddenly. What if there was something wrong? Knowing his boyfriends health Zander couldn't be too cautious.
Of course he didn't want to ask right away if Pearce would need a doctor. For now it was just a headache after all. Perhaps he just needed something to eat. "Maybe we should get breakfast first before doing any walks."

He snorted softly in amusement at the boy's teasing. He didn't want to off balance his mental equilibrium. "Hilarious," he murmured.
Pearce hissed faintly as Zander touched his hair, inherently worried it might hurt more. "Headache...didn't sleep well," he said softly, almost embarrassed. It was starting to fade quickly enough at least.
Zander's suggestion recieved a shake of his head. "Not hungry yet. After," he insisted gently, leaning over to pull the redhead against him gently. Pearce yawned again, kissed Zander's forehead and then proceeded to get up and ready for the day. "Just around the garden a few times," he advised. It might just be a headache on his end, but Zander had a lot more bruises.

"Did I keep you awake?" He didn't remember having any particularly bad dreams and didn't wake up with that horrible pain in his chest like he normally did on bad nights. Though there were some foggy memories of him wandering out of the house and Pearce bringing him back to the house. Was that it? A part of him doubted it. Still, he didn't want to feel like he was worrying too much for nothing and didn't want to put any unneeded stress onto the marquis.
"You always say you're not hungry." Zander insisted with a mock pout. Though as Pearce pulled him close and kissed his forehead he felt butterflies in his stomach that more or less focused his nerves else where. Once the blonde was out of bed he climbed out as well and pulled on his clothes for the day. Doing his best to not move so stiffly or make any pained sounds. There didn't seem to be any blood on his bandages so he decided to simply remove them entirely. Giving his wounds time to breath always seemed to help them heal faster.
Once he knew they were both dressed Zander reached out for Pearces hand. "I'll need to wake up Briella soon anyways." He stated with a soft smile. While he'd woken up later than normal it would still be nice to have a little extra time alone with his boyfriend before he had to wake up his sister or see a particularly annoying blonde boy.

He blinked. Zander didn't remember. But before he said anything he realized maybe that was preferable. Pearce shook his head slowly and didn't say anything further. "Just a headache," he said.
"Because I am not hungry," he explained dryly. Pearce could tell Zander was still in pain from how he moved. The marquis kept a close eye on him, but he wouldn't say anything as long Zander didn't hurt himself further. He wasn't the boy's mother, after all.
Pearce smiled and led the way out to the hall and down stairs. He greeted Heather with a good morning and he could swear she knew something was up just from that. Breeze met them in the foyer with a loud meow in greeting. She liked the nights and mornings because at least right now, the fluffy beast slept with Briella and not in the manor.
"How far do you run in the mornings?" He asked, still talking a lot softer than normal.

"Not far." Though he was sure that what he considered 'not far' and what Pearce considered 'not far' were very different. Though with how his body was feeling he figured it might be best to not walk much. Still, having this walk would give him a chance to talk about the marquis health some. Hopefully without stressing him out too much. Though he knew talking about the mans health at all would cause some form of stress.
As Breeze came to greet them Zander leaned down to pet her before continuing to walk with Pearce. "Has Heather found you a regular doctor yet?" The question came out mostly casually but there was a hint of concern in his tone. The air wasn't terribly cold but he still hated feeling the biting chill against his fingertips and lips. The redhead moved closer to his boyfriend for both comfort and warmth.

Pearce was positive Zander's 'not far' was further than his version but they weren't going to make that distance today if he could help it.
He was happy to walk close to the young man. He'd bundled up in a cloak to stay warm but he usually didn't have any problem with cool weather. He was naturaly warmer, even slender as he was, and was also naturally quite happy to share that warmth with his smaller companion. They weren't going anywhere very public after all.
"Ah, no," he said quietly, a bit confused. He had certainly not asked Heather to do such a thing. And then he realized maybe Zander and the head housekeeper had decided to get hime one on their own. It made sense after all, it just wasn't something he liked to worry about himself. Exactly why Heather and Zander were worrying about it, Pearce realized. He grimaced. Seems he was causing problems no matter what.
He looped an arm around Zander's shoulders as the young man moved closer, avoiding saying anything else on the matter. Zander was the one who was hurt!
Breeze purred at the affection and padded alongside the pair for the moment.

He pressed close to Pearce and wrapped his arm around the mans waist as they walked. Unlike the marquis Zander had never been very warm. If he wasn't working out or doing some kind of physical labor the redhead would normally find himself shivering a little. Even during the summer. The cold had also often led to him being ill more times than he liked to count which caused him to hate the winter and fall months.
"I think you would prefer having a regular doctor than just continuing to call one over every time something happened." Honestly Zander understood Pearces anxiety with doctors. They were scary! Strangers poking and prodding at you, asking uncomfortable questions that are often confusing and hard to answer. It could be really overwhelming. He thought it might be best to have one person that his boyfriend could get to know and feel more comfortable with that could step in and care for him when he or Heather couldn't.
"You're warm." He purred softly as he nuzzled his face against the mans shoulder. It was so much nicer spending time at the manor. At a safe place where Zander could be close with Pearce without fear or anxiety of the wrong people catching them. Certainly it was a bit easier for him to be out to most people he met but even he still had his worries. Aralore was no where near as bad as Teronna but even all the people here weren't as accepting as they might seem. There was also still concern over Pearces reputation even if the man had told him his title wasn't an excuse to hide their relationship.

The marquis shrugged uncomfortably. Maybe he would prefer that, but he would also prefer not having one. Looking down at the redhead thought, he quickly realized such a statement would be more than frowned upon. And he really didn't like worrying the young man. He sighed. "I supposed so," he said carefully. Ideally, of course, nothing would happen. Exactly how he was to go about finding a doctor...well, that he didn't know, nor did he feel comfortable doing, for all the reasons Zander knew.
"You're cuddly," he pointed out in return, a soft smile on his lips. Anything to not talk about their previous topic of conversation. Not that he imagined Zander would drop it so quickly, even at Pearce relenting.
Breeze rubbed herself up against Zander and then Pearce and then tried to pounce on one of her owner's shoes. Pearce half tripped, more in an effort not to step the cat than anything. "Breeze," he hissed in mock frustration before laughing a little. The cat stiffened and then meowed again and attempted to do the same to Zander's boot.

"I know you don't like doctors." He stated simply with a small frown. The redhead didn't think anyone particularly liked visiting doctors. Though he also understood it was more than just a distaste for seeing doctors. Still, he wanted Pearce to be healthy and feel better both mentally and physically.
"If you'd like I could come with you so you wouldn't have to be all alone with a stranger." He offered with a soft smile. Perhaps it would make the marquis feel better if he had someone he was comfortable with there with him. Zander could also explain some of the more confusing conversations to him. The comment on him being cuddly made him chuckle. "I'm always cuddly with you."
As Breeze attempted to pounce on Pearces shoes the redhead couldn't help but laugh a bit. As she attacked his shoes next Zander pushed her back gently as he stuck his tongue out at her. "I'll get Whisky to come play with you soon." He teased with a devious smile. It wouldn't be the first time he saw the excited pup try to chase around the large cat. Though last time she gave him a pretty good scratch on the nose.

To say he 'didn't like doctors' was an understatement. Though, it was less about doctors and more about invasive people and not having control over his own personal space. He certainly should have a doctor and he really would like to be comfortable with them, but... "P-Primrose could be my doctor," he suggested, though his tone implied he knew that wouldn't work. She was a nurse. A good nurse, to be sure, and someone he was mostly comfortable with, but anytime he needed a doctor, really needed one, that need was likely out of her usual class of work.
Pearce nodded at Zander's suggestion. A much better idea than his own. "You would make me feel a lot better." Though they might not get to speak entirely freely, depending on the doctor, but Pearce would gladly have Zander with him, even if it meant giving up some privacy. Mostly it was for comfort, but he did understand Zander comprehended that sort of thing better than he did.
"I would rather she not hurt the dog," Pearce noted. "I don't think she likes him much." Breeze was curious of other animals, but she still seemed annoyed that the puppy was here to stay and not just to visit.

The mention of his sister being his doctor made him furrow his brow in confusion. "Primrose is a great nurse." He stated a bit more firmly. Primrose was indeed a good nurse but there was only so much she could do to help him. The marquis would need to see a proper doctor as much as he didn't like it. Hearing that he would be more comfortable if he were there with him made Zander let out a small sigh of relief. At least he was willing to put in an effort.
Even if they couldn't be as open around a doctor it would also make him feel better knowing what was going on with his boyfriend. "Whisky needs to learn to not mess with Breeze. If he gets a scratch it won't kill him." Of course he would step in before Whisky caused Breeze too much stress or if a serious fight broke out. But the best way for Whisky to learn how to interact with the cat was for her to teach him. "They'll get along eventually." Probably when the pup was older and calmer.
Once the sun was higher and the air was a bit warmer Zander knew it was time to wake up his sister. He pulled them both to the carriage house and made his way up to the loft to be greeted by an excited Whisky. With an affectionate pat on the pups head he reached the bed and brushed his hand over his sisters hair. She stirred awake with a groan but he was in no position to carry her downstairs like he normally would. "Come on now, a bhobain."
As she wrapped her arms around his neck Zander frowned as he had to unwrap them. She let out a confused and tired whine as he grabbed her hand and walked with her and Whisky down the stairs.

"Nurse. Yes, well..." he was tempted to pretend he didn't know the difference, but he did and Zander was right. He hadn't really talked to his sister about what was going on anyway so that conversation wasn't about to be more comfortable just because she wasn't a stranger. "If you or Heather find s-someone, I'll...talk to them." Maybe. Pearce would like to know what was going on with himself too, but his anxiety and discomfort outweighed that concern.
He certainly hoped they got along. He had never seen either animal go after the other directly, but he still worried that both animals stressed the other out. The marquis realized suddenly that it was not unlike Zander and Percival. Maybe Zander was right on that account too. They needed to learn not to mess with each other and hopefully, with time, they would teach each other. Hopefully he didn't need to wait for one or both to be 'older' and 'calm' enough, though.
Pearce waited outside. He was attempting to treat the carriage house as if it was not his property. Honestly, he had never personally used it much before so it wasn't terribly difficult. But really he wanted the siblings to have their own space. Sort of like he had his study to retreat too, if he really needed it. Not that he thought they wouldn't invite him in, but space was good.
Breeze had followed them most of the way, surprisingly enough, but at the carriage house she demanded loudly and with her claws to be picked up. Clearly she knew this was Whisky's area, but she still wanted to be here. Pearce relented, if only so she wouldn't put more holes in his pants. "You're too heavy to carry," he grumbled softly at the cat as she settled in his arms and rubbed her cheek against his neck, purring loudly. Her tail twitched as the dog arrived, but she ignored him otherwise. "Good morning, Briella," Pearce said softly. His headache had faded, but he still hadn't slept very well and was looking forward to his morning cup of tea to help him relax.
"I believe there are muffin's for breakfast." That was an understatement too. There weren't just muffins. There was about anything one could want to eat for breakfast. But this morning there were specifically muffins with various fruits, some with chocolate pieces, some made out of banana bread, some with nuts...all sorts.

Briella merely grumbled in response to Pearces greeting making her brother chuckle. It seemed both of the most important people in his life were terrible to wake up in the mornings. "She's just a grumpy bear this morning." He stated teasingly as he gave her hand a soft squeeze. That only seemed to earn a grumbled huff. Whisky trotted out after them seeming just as cheerful as ever. At least one of them was. The pup looked up at Breeze and wagged his tail excitedly before Briella pat him on the head. "Too early to play." She said with a huff. Whiskys tail stopped wagging as he followed after the little blonde girl.
As they got to breakfast Zander sat his sister at the table as he went to get her plate. With food set in front of her her mood seemed to brighten a bit more while one of the staff quietly went to feed Whisky so the redhead wouldn't have to. "Are you feeling hungry now, love?" He asked Pearce teasingly as he sat down at the table next to his sister. Tea was set in front of the three of them which Briella eagerly turned to drink if just to wake herself up.

He wasn't grumpy in the morning, was he? He didn't think so. Difficult to wake up and impossible to hold a conversation with in the morning, certainly though. Pearce wasn't too bothered by the girl's attitude in the morning. He figured she would brighten up with food as they headed back to the kitchen.
The cat was set back on the ground as they moved inside. Pearce wasn't about to carry the creature everywhere. She sniffed and kept a distant eye on Whisky.
"A little," he confessed. After eating so much more than normal last night, he didn't have much of an appetite, but it was hard to say no to warm sweet baked goods. Pearce was happy to take some of the banana bread muffins and spread butter on them. They were still warm and nearly melted in the mouth.

Breakfast at least went by simply enough. Briella had certainly brightened up as she ate and returned to her cheerful, talkative self. That is until they'd finished their food. Zander had noticed she went from energetic to slowly more sluggish as she finished her tea. Though he wasn't very sure what could be wrong. Was she really just that tired?
As their plates were taken away he watched her slowly blink then groan as she rested her forehead on the table. "Zanny..." The way she whined his name filled him with concern. He crouched next to her and smoothed her hair away from her face as he tried to get a good look at her. "I feel...funny." As he caught her eyes they certainly looked strange. Her pupils were so much bigger than he'd ever seen them.
He furrowed his brow in concern as he turned to Pearce. Before he could say anything a staff member rushed over and picked up her empty cup. "Did she drink from this one?" This only served to make Zander more confused. "Uh, yes." A worried look crossed the servants face before he turned to Pearce.
"Uh...This one was meant for you, m'lord." What the hell was the difference?
