Jacob didn’t have much control over his facial expressions, so when Kaiden admitted to not being able to handle his alcohol, the look he gave was probably a cross between disappointment, curiosity, and amusement. The emotions displayed on his features most likely appeared comical and over-exaggerated, and despite his inability to recognize or control his own expression, he was still polite as he spoke. “Ahh… Yes, yes… Not for everyone, I understand! I--” He paused for a moment as though he needed to really concentrate on his thoughts. “I probably shouldn’t be handling much liquor myself…” He let out a laugh and shook his head. “Sorry-- I’m not usually like this,” he quietly mumbled with a hint of shame in his voice.
He was appreciative of Kaiden’s sentiment and for not trying to pry him for more of an explanation of his advice and words. So when the soldier made light of the matter, Jacob exhaled a short laugh. “Yes… They do say the drink brings out honesty from others… Or something like that? I think?” He scratched his head in thought and then shrugged his shoulders.
When Kaiden asked if they were almost to his home, he stopped and glanced around, wavering slightly as he did. A moment longer than what would have been perceived as normal passed and he finally nodded. “That way.” He pointed in the direction they needed to go in next. “Not much further.”
He began walking again, remaining silent a bit longer before spoke up again. “So. Tell me, Kaiden....” He started as if about to integrate him. “What would make you someone’s favorite person?” He decided to bring back their previous conversation. “What qualities do you have to offer someone? What kind of person are you really? What do you want to be remembered for?”
Yes, Jacob could even get quite deep while drunk. Then again, he always was- (drunk or not). He liked to challenge others to think.

Kaiden was used to a little confusion of judgement. To be honest, the man wasn't sure why he couldn't drink and it frustrated him at times when he really wanted to lose himself for one reason or another. But considering how sick it made him, he had to reach quite a low point indeed to do something like that to himself. A simple hangover or drunkenness like Jacob was experiencing would be a breeze by comparison. But he didn't begrudge the man letting a few things go every so often. "We all deserve to relax somehow." Kaiden could only hope Jacob didn't take it so far that he had to be carried home, no matter his profession. Not that he minded helping the guy out.
The nobleman could tell there was a lot more to the man's depression, but that wasn't something he was comfortable with prying about while he hardly knew the man. Perhaps another time? And even if not, he was looking forward to 'drinking' with the man again. He seemed like a good sort who just needed a hand.
He waited patiently with a small smile on his lips as Jacob oriented himself. His casual lead up to his next round of question caught him off guard however. Favorite person? Qualities to offer someone? He snorted good naturedly and a bit confused. Was this normal in Tresteria? Or was Jacob trying to...imply some other question? Likely not, considering he was clearly distraught with the lose of his engaged. Still, it seemed clear enough the man was lonely. He put it down to the man being drunk. "Well..." he took a breath. "That's quite a lot to answer for. But..." He organized his thoughts a moment, uncertain if the man would even remember anything he said. "I cannot express why I would be someone's favorite person. That's something for them to judge. I...am afraid I don't understand what you mean by 'qualities to off someone?'" that came down more to a translation issue.
He shrugged at how to explain himself. "I like people and I like learning. So...I try to be an honest and invested sort?" As he had said before, he liked to experience people. Kaiden didn't feel qualified to judge his own character. "And I'd love to...discover something. Doesn't have to be big. Doesn't even need to have my name attached to it. I just...want to show the world something it was missing?" He wasn't even sure if he meant anything physical. Hell, if Jacob remembered one thing about him, he just wanted him to remember he was there. Sometimes, that was enough.
"And you, doctor? What do you wish to be remembered for?"
