PERSONALITY:
Kaiden is a very laid back individual. He’s not quiet and can be rather sociable with a friendly and calm attitude. Even under pressure or tense situations, he is cool and collected. He’s a very compassionate and caring, however, and despite his cool nature, is not a distant person.. While he would never call himself brave or noble or self-sacrificing, he will often go out of his way to help those he cares about.
The man likes to think he has a decent sense of humor even in the most stressful of situations.
HISTORY:
Kaiden was the younger son of a cousin of the King of Ithais, raised to be a proper nobleman and a companion to the royal family. His brother, Kyler, was older by a year and did everything in his power to ensure Kaiden knew it. His childhood was otherwise rather unimportant.
As the second son of the family, he was encouraged to become a fighter and while at first he wasn’t so interested except to make a name for himself away from his brother and father, that changed after a year. Thieves broke into his family home and killed his father and nearly his mother as well. Kaiden rededicated himself to training. Some of it was distraction, some of it to protect his family. He began traveling, seeking adventure (and misadventure) and experience that more or less shaped his skills as a fighter. When Tresteria’s fighting with Saelis intensified, he joined their war effort.
He made a name for himself in Tresteria as a skilled soldier and leader. He would like to continue to build up his name and perhaps earn his own lands and wealth in Tresteria, counter to his brother back home.
Recently, he gained the eye and favor of the old King, Edward, and found himself offered an engagement to Elyscia Demarias. While he had never met the young woman and felt conflicted about the choice, one does not turn down such offers from the King and the engagement offered a lot of security.
Before he could meet his wife-to-be, however, he received the grave news of the death of his brother. Kaiden returned home to make funeral preparations and conduct any remaining family affairs as the now last of his house. While visiting home, he was unexpectedly detained and is only just now returning to Tresteria, aware things have changed, but uncertain what that means for his tentative engagement and the future of the country.
