Anemone was a little worried about giving a gift to Alice. She'd always seemed sort of intimidating, before, but as they were learning more about each other, Anemone was beginning to realize that she was actually quite nice, under it all. So, she decided that meant that Alice needed a gift for Yule too, because she was a friend. And besides, it would look so lovely in her hair... She just hoped that it wouldn't embarrass or offend Alice Calder at all... When the Queen was busy with the princes, Anemone took that opportunity to run back to her room and grab Alice's gift-- a yellow paper-flower crown and a box of chocolate macarons. She presented it to her new friend with a shy smile. "Happy Yule, Alice!"

Alice had spent her morning straightening up, anything to occupy her mind, and keep it off the charming young man she'd met during the chase. It was such an odd thing, to be so distracted by the very thing Alice swore she couldn't stand. Ever since her ex-husband, Alice had practically sworn off men, declared to herself that she despised them. Yet, her mind still wandered to Nathaniel from time to time, occupying the space where her focus on duties should be.
As she took to dusting off a few of the vases and rearranging the flowers within them so that they were standing straight again, a familiar voice broke the silence of the large hallway and Alice turned to see Anemone there, a beautiful flower crown and box of treats in hand. She gave the young girl a smile as she placed the duster onto the small pedestal that held the vase and took the gifts. "Ane, you shouldn't have." She said softly. "Thank you very much, and Happy Yule." Her smile and tone were genuine as she looked over the flower crown before her eyes returned to Ane's face. It was hard to believe that Anemone was only a year younger than she. She was such a spry, young girl. So full of life and happiness. Almost as if she were child-like at heart. A striking contrast to Alice's stiff personality. "How did you know my favorite color was yellow?" She asked as she handed the flower crown back to Ane, dipping her head to the light-haired girl as a way of asking for help putting it on.
