[ORIN] He had waited in that room until he heard Aric and Cassandra walk away. A fucking earring? Really? That was the best excuse she could come up with? He quickly left the room and hastily walked down the halls, heading first to his room so he could clean up, change and get himself prepared for the day. When he finished, he made his way out to the miliary building. Where all the fun had started last night. As he arrived, he got to work, talking with the commanders and the guards he had assigned tasks to, trying to figure out how dire this issue with Saelis was right now. [d]
[ARIC] The prince, on the other hand, still wore the same clothes from the day before. He felt like he had already wasted so much time that he ran hands through his hair and moved on. That tonic was beginning to work, but he was still fairly groggy. At least he wasn't cringing so much from the sunlight now. He had checked the training hall and some of the castle, before one of the servants mentioned that Orin had gone to the military building. So, trudging across a path that he had drunkenly stumbled over that evening, he'd enter the building with a tired sweep of brown eyes. [d]
[ORIN] He felt exhausted. And the tonic Cassandra had given him was only partially working. He could still feel a slight nagging throb behind his eyes.
From the corner of his eye, he saw Aric walk in as he was talking to a commander about their findings over the night. Nothing, thankfully. Orin no longer wore that bandage to cover his eye, his gash of a wound going down his face now fully visible. When the commander excused himself, Orin found his way towards Aric, nodding in greeting. "How's your head this morning?" [d]
[ARIC] Noticing Orin speaking with one of the commanders, he waited back so as to not interrupt. When he approached and asked that questioned, he just grumbled in slight discomfort. "It's...slowly getting better." The fact that the tonic wasn't helping faster meant that he drank far too much "Any news?" Perhaps it was too soon to hear back from all of them, but he was hoping, if there was any news, it was good. [d]
[ORIN] He nodded in agreement, his own headache slowly getting better too. "Sorry if I got us in this predicament. " He laughed slightly before he'd shake his head. "So far, nothing.. Which is good." He felt somewhat awkward around this man now. Because of Cassandra. Though, maybe Aric felt the same way around him. At least they were supposed to be together, anyway, though. He tried not to think of it, hoping his awkwardness would pass as his hungover misery. [d]
[ARIC] Laughing, he pinched the bridge of his nose. "Aye, I believe it was you." Even though he was suffering for it, he didn't exactly regret it. The weirdness barely went noticed. Orin could be wearing a ridiculous jester hat and Aric wouldn't have batted an eye right now. Although Alexandria had...woken him up, in a sense, his exhaustion was returning. Funny how both men were feeling awkward around each other, and neither would explain why. He'd sigh in relief, "Yes, very good." Frankly, he was totally nervous about it. The wedding might be to advertised, perfect for an attack...so perhaps having a small one wasn't such a bad idea. "Is there anything further I can do?" [d]
[ORIN] "It was your idea..." He laughed, grinning slightly. "I just provided." His shoulders raised in a shrug and he glanced around the room. "I don't think so... Not unless they find anything else." He sighed, really hoping they did not. "Did Alexandria suspect anything? Have you seen her this morning?" He didn't remember that they had bothered her last night or that Aric had stayed behind in her room. But he wasn't going to bring up that he had spoken with Cassandra and found out all about what he had done. [d]
[ARIC] "Was it?" he questioned a little embarrassingly, rubbing the back of his neck. He vaguely remembered that. "So, you're just an enabler." A laugh that was quick to die down with Orin's next questions concerning sister, he tried to play it off with a light wince, as though it had aggravated his head. Which wasn't entirely false. "She wondered about the extra guard, but I told her that it was just a precaution. Hopefully the wedding plans keep her distracted long enough." [d]
[ORIN] Alexandria was smart. It was difficult to get things passed her. He laughed at Aric's mention of the wedding plans keeping her distracted. "It will be torture for her. She is not into things like that..." He shrugged. "Strangely... Aren't all women obsessed with those kind of things? They dream about it their whole lives?" He shook his head and laughed again. "She is not like most women, though, I suppose." He glanced at Aric for a moment. "Though I assume you already have figured that out?" [d]
[ARIC] "She'll survive," he chuckled. "It will help keep her oblivious and Cassandra out of trouble. She thrives on this sort of thing...probably because she can order people around." He couldn't help but wonder if his cousin enjoyed it since it allowed her to have some sort of rule over others' lives...because she didn't have much choice with her own. At the rest of his words, he grinned, "I have. I still just wish she had the time to have whatever wedding she wants..." But kings will be kings. And Edward was no exception. [d]
[ORIN] He laughed at Aric's comment. Yes, she would indeed survive. She may not like it, but at least it was only for a short period of time. At Aric's wish, Orin laughed again and shook his head. "Could always plan another one later... For the rest of the kingdom to celebrate." He smirked, an idea crossing his mind. "Maybe you should plan that one. Surprise her? Lots of peonies." He laughed. "I'm sure she'd appreciate that." [d]
[ARIC] For a man who didn't seem very interested in all the festivities of a wedding, he certainly has a good idea. Aric's brows lifted in surprise, "That...is actually brilliant." He was laughing soon after about the flowers. "Oh yes...the peonies. Now I'm remembering far more than I desire to..." Something about Orin yelling about picking flowers stuck out. [d]
[ORIN] Yes, he honestly did not know where these ideas came from. Perhaps his issue wasn't the whole charming aspect. But maybe more so it was who he was. He was cold and distant and could just be a complete asshole at times. Once women got to know him fully, they realized that they did not want to be around him. He silently wondered how long it would take Cassandra to tire of him.
He forced a smile as Aric seemed to like his idea, and he offered him a nod. "That's great for you, because I don't remember much at all after telling you about Eoin." He laughed and shook his head. He took a step forward and placed his hand on Aric's shoulder. "What do you have planned for the rest of the day?" [d]
[ARIC] The smile on his face was genuine now. Despite what the whiskey was doing to his head right now, he was happy that Orin seemed to be okay with him now. Maybe more than okay... but he wasn't about to push his luck with that. "Things are still pretty fuzzy," he commented. "Wonder if I'll ever remember the rest..." Or maybe he shouldn't wish for that. As Orin inquired about his day, he seemed lost. "I'm...not really sure." He expected to busy with...well, anything. Then something occurred to him, knowing he only had a couple of days. "If you really don't need my help, I may head into town for something." Whatever that something was, he wasn't keen on sharing it with Orin. New best friend or not. [d]
[ORIN] He chuckled slightly, "I don't think I want to remember" Except for the end of his night.
He wasn't sure what his plans were for the day either. Perhaps after reaching out to all the commanders and guards, he'd go get some more sleep. Orin shook his head at Aric's words. "Nah, I think I'm good. You go ahead." He waved him off. "I'll catch up with you later to let you know what's going on with everything. " [d]
