ABOUT ORIN:
- Orin had been born in Aralore to Arthur and Katharine Evans, loyal servants to the King and Queen of Aralore. But when threat came to the kingdom, Orin was only nine when he inherited a new sister: the princess of Aralore. His family fled with the princess in order to keep her safe from the harm of the enemy. For her protection, they renamed her Aurora Evans.
- He grew up with Aurora, loving her as his own sister and best friend. But around her tenth year, a large army ripped through their village forcing them away from Katharine and Arthur. Orin's parents gave him a box to which they told held all of Aurora's life within it, and that it was up to him to get her back to the kingdom when she was old enough to take over as queen.
He took care of her for several years, until she was kidnapped. He had searched for her nonstop for many months, but had failed in finding her. - He spent his life alone and with anger at himself for losing her and not being able to find her. He was afraid to travel far, worried that if he did, he would never get the chance to find his sister again. So he stayed put, until years later, he happened to find her.
- Aralore was in ruin and needed its queen. He was the only one that knew of her existence... The only one that could bring her back. They needed her. He brought her to the kingdom's torn down land and revealed to her of her true identity as Princess Alexandria. He did whatever he could to help her regain her kingdom and then disappeared, ashamed at himself for failing as a brother and allowing her to fall into a world of corruption.
- He lived his life on the ocean, jumping from ship to ship and exploring the world. He couldn't bring himself to go back to living on land where he felt he had failed so miserably at his life, and ruined his sister's in the process.
- Many years passed and Orin had learned that Aralore, had once again, been under attack and that its new Queen, Alexandria, had taken its people and fled to an island. He found his way there and vowed to his sister he would never leave her again.
- But there was something different about him. He wasn't the same Orin he had been growing up, and his personality and distance pushed Alexandria and him apart. He hardly seemed at all her brother, but in his heart, he would do anything for her.
- He tried his best to settle down in Aralore and help his sister out whenever he could. He had even found himself in a relationship or two, that did not last very long. Things were complicated, and he just wanted to escape back to the sea. But he remained in Aralore, regardless.
- When the war hit Aralore, he fought hard and helped in whatever way he could. Though when he found a necklace that his sister's fiancee wore from her, in a charred forest, he assumed the worst and had to tell her that her love was dead. It killed him to have to see his sister so heartbroken, and he, once again, felt he had failed her.
- The war ended and Alexandria had agreed to an arrangement with Tresteria, that she would marry the prince Aric to form a strong alliance between the two nations. He grew angry at this and made it quite known that he disapproved of the engagement, making it public in the middle of a ball his sister had held to welcome the Tresterian prince. This put even more strain on their relationship.
- It wasn't until Aric's cousin, Cassandra Demarais , was taken and held hostage by some bandits who had taken advantage of Aralore's ruin, that his sister asked for his help in finding her and bringing her back. He agreed after apologizing and making amends with his sister.
- He was back on the ocean again, searching for a woman he cared very little for, who seemed like she could care less about anyone but herself. When they found her, she was being held up in a cave on an island called Aldsage. They captured the bandits and brought them prisoner on the ship as they brought Cassandra back home. Orin had to deal with her snobby, stuck up attitude and she drove him crazy throughout the trip back. He would have thrown her overboard, but he was sure his sister would not approve. So he behaved and put up with Cassandra.
- They returned to Aralore and things began to spiral out of control quickly. He found himself spending more time with Cassandra, often bumping into her at the moments when she needed someone to listen and cry on, and he offered her whatever comfort he could, consoling and giving her life advice, trying to convince her to let go of her restrictive life and be more free.
- When the King of Tresteria arrived for a banquet they would hold in his honor, to discuss the condition and progression of Aralore, he was asked to be there for support. He tried so hard to bite his tongue, but he despised the king and that he was trapping his sister in this arrangement, which he felt was to try and take over Aralore.
- There was an attack by a group from the Order of Saelis, who disguised themselves at Tresterian guards. They were severely outnumbered, but with the help of Aric, Stefan, a few guards, and even Alexandria, they were able to fight them off. Unexpectedly, however, he was stricken with a sword down the side of his face as he was trying to protect his sister. Soon after, Alexandria was stabbed and he was unable to help her. Thankfully, Aric came to her rescue, but it was almost too late. The loss of blood had caused her to weaken and she nearly died. It was then, that he heard Aric confess his love for his sister.
- Despite his wound, he worked tirelessly to ensure the castle was secure again and with the help of Cassandra, even caught another Saelis impostor, throwing him into the prison.
- Aric later appointed him head of the Queen's guard, to ensure that he was in charge of his sister's safety. Something he knew should have happened long ago, so he agreed, knowing he would take the job more seriously than anyone else could.
- Aric and Orin later had a heart-to-heart conversation and Orin came to terms that Aric would be marrying his sister and that he could trust him with her life. The two got stupidly drunk off of an entire bottle of whiskey, and became the best of friends.
- In his drunken state, he had accidentally, yet indirectly, confessed that he felt something towards Cassandra. She took advantage of the situation and they slept with one another, though she left him, where he would wake up confused and lacking the memory of what had occurred.
- Eventually, he remembered something and he and Cassandra started a secret love affair with one another.
- Aric and his sister were married, which ended in disaster. At their reception, Alexandria's former lover, whom he had told her died, showed up, very much alive. He had been imprisoned for a year in Saelis and came back to warn them that they were planning a retaliation for their losing the war previously. He had tried to keep Eoin from going into the reception, but he insisted, leaving Orin feeling like he once again, failed his sister.
- As if that weren't enough, later that night, the Tresterian king, whom had seemingly gone completely mad, attempted to rape Alexandria. Stefan, one of the guards, saved her and threw the king into prison where he later died at the hand of Cassandra.
- He helped get Cassandra out of the whole mess she had created, by finding out evidence that one of the king's advisers had actually been poisoning him and making him go mad.
- With the king's death, the Tresterian family had to return to bury their king. This included Cassandra. She had promised him she would return, but he is doubtful that she will. Once she returns to her old life in Tresteria, he was sure she would remember that her life belonged there and with her husband.
- He watched her leave that day, afraid he would never see her again. It was just his luck. Love never lasted or worked out for him.
- Cassandra gave Orin her mother's emerald ring, which he wears on a chain around his neck. She said it was for luck and to remember her by. In return, he gave her his mother's ruby ring.
- He is actually afraid to let his feelings develop for Cassandra.
