[ALEXANDRIA] After Aric had left, she wrapped herself back into her robe. Her mind was all over the place and she felt awful about what had happened. She felt horrible for Aric and could only imagine what he was thinking now. Would he be afraid to touch her from now on? She sat in front of her vanity table and rested her head down into her folded arms. She could hate herself right now. She couldn't help the tears that started falling from her eyes then, but it wasn't long before there was a knock. She sat up, wiping her face and called out. "Come in."
[CASSANDRA] The duchess hoped Alexandria wouldn't mind her being there, but Cassandra was actually a bit nervous herself. But she had given her ladies tasks already, so the least she could do was this. Hearing the voice on the other side, she drew in a deep breath and and opened the door slowly; peering in before spotting the queen at her vanity. Her smile was an apologetic one. "Aric mentioned you needed to be dressed. And since I've already tasked your ladies with wedding things, I thought I could help?" She didn't know why she felt so nervous standing there right now.
[ALEXANDRIA] As Cassandra stepped in, a soft smile was offered to her. "Oh..." She paused for a moment, "Thank you...if you really don't mind?" She turned her gaze back to her vanity mirror. She was quite capable of getting dressed herself, but with her wound, it made it a little more difficult. She just felt bad it was Cassandra offering up her services when she didn't need to. And she would see her scars and wonder. Something she wasn't quite sure she wanted to talk about right now. Not after what had just happened with Aric.
[CASSANDRA] "I don't mind at all," she replied, further entering and shutting the door behind her. By now, she knew Alexandria wasn't like most queens and often dressed herself without the help of ladies. So, she could only discern that her side was still bothering her. "Do you wish to wash first?" she asked, moving to her side. She eyed the small basin of water and towel, but she could request a tub be brought in if the queen wished.
[ALEXANDRIA] She smiled again as Cassandra admitted she didn't mind. She looked away from the mirror and back to her as she asked her about bathing. A slight nod given. "Yes, I suppose." Though she could probably manage to do that herself, to save them both that embarrassment.
[CASSANDRA] She wouldn't help her with everything, of course, but Cassandra would carry over that basin and pitcher of water, with the towel slung over her shoulder. She'd hand that cloth over to her. If she wished for a bath, all she had to do was ask. To keep herself occupied, she instinctively began to straighten out the sheets upon the bed. "I've started preparations for the wedding," she said. "I'm afraid it will be a small one since we won't have much time to request everyone's presence..." Cassandra trailed off, idly wondering if Edward would leave with his family, and leave her and Henry behind still. He had little reason to keep her here, but he also may not even care.
[ALEXANDRIA] After the items were brought over to her, Alexandria started to wash herself. She removed her robe again and begin to wipe down her skin carefully. Her mind began to wander to Aric and how he had kissed her up against the wall. How he touched her. She could almost still feel his fingers trailing on her skin as the water trickled down her body. Cassandra's voice had snapped her out of her daze and she almost didn't hear what she said. So she smiled, letting her voice register in her mind. "That's alright... We don't need a big wedding..." She cleared her throat. "What are you thinking for planning?"
[CASSANDRA] Distractions were very much needed, because the silence was almost agonizing. Her own mind was filled with constant thoughts of many things, so idle conversation helped. Still, particular thoughts made it hard for Cassandra to look at the queen, but she was also giving her some privacy. She herself wasn't very modest, but Alexandria might be. She grinned. Good, she didn't mind a small wedding. "Well, with little time to really get anything necessary-" At least, according to her tastes. "I was thinking the cathedral could be subtly dressed in white...and perhaps shades of soft blue? The aisle lined with lanterns and camellia flowers." She paused. "Or peonies? Orchids?" Alright, so she hadn't been planning as much as she hoped. She got sidetracked shortly after making sure servants were cleaning and prepping rooms for any guests who would be able to make it. "But, the reception in the ballroom." It may be too big for the guest list...but she didn't feel comfortable in the banquet hall, and she was assuming the queen wouldn't be either.
[ALEXANDRIA] She was listening to Cassandra ramble on about all the plans and decisions she had made, remaining quiet as she did, and continued to wash herself. When Cassandra finished, she cleared her throat. "I was thinking... No cathedral. Maybe outdoors... By the cliffs?" She hoped she wouldn't be disappointed for turning down her ideas. She wondered what Aric would have preferred. If he cared about any of this. He had already gotten married once and she wondered what that wedding had been like. Her mind was wandering to him again, and she had to snap out of it. "I do like the idea of the aisle being lined with lanterns. Peonies are nice, too." She smiled.
[CASSANDRA] She was quick to turn around to look at her again with he suggestion. Silly her! Here she was thinking of tradition, and Alexandria being a queen that it automatically had to be in a cathedral. A smile slowly began to spread across her face, and she looked awed, "That would be...perfect." No stuffiness of a church was always perfect. "I'll make the arrangements right away." It would be chilly, but it would be worth it. She always pictured being outdoors, perhaps in a field (albeit all the bugs), or in a forest clearing. But, no, she endured the stuffy church and sermons.
[ALEXANDRIA] Her lips formed a genuine smile when Cassandra liked her idea. She too, did not care for the formalness of a stuffy church and a long, drawn out ceremony. It would be a bit cold, but they could make it short and head back into the castle for the reception. Which reminded her of what Cassandra had said about the ballroom. "I think the ballroom would be fine... even if it is too big for the guest list. Or perhaps the library?" The library had a lovely open center room, that nearly looked like a smaller ballroom. She finished washing herself and then started to get her hair a bit wet so it would help smooth out the unruliness it was at the moment. When she finished, she turned to Cassandra. "I'm ready to dress now."
[CASSANDRA] At the mention of using the library, she stopped in the middle of fluffing a pillow. "The library?" That was a rather strange place to hold a reception but she didn't say so. "It will be big enough?" It wasn't for her to judge. Personally, she loved how different Alexandria appeared to be. Laughing softly to herself, she continued, "I do not know why you were so stressed about planning this... because you already have it all planned out." Her smile softened. Normally every girl dreamed of her fantasy wedding. Cassandra wondered if this was the queen's. Her own had never been in a church either. When Alexandria was ready to dress, she appeared curious as she approached the wardrobe. "Have you...many books in your library?" It was a silly question, really. She had been in Aralore all this time and hadn't once walked into that room. Drawing out a dress of a beautiful plum color and a shift, she carried them over to the vanity.
[ALEXANDRIA] It did sound strange to suggest the library, but the room was rather large. The center was wide open in a circle formation, and books lined the walls from floor to almost ceiling. There was a second level type balcony to reach the higher up books. Her mind wandered to Aric again, remembering that night they had almost kissed for the first time. Perhaps the library would be a meaningful place for them.
She laughed at Cassandra's comment and shook her head. "The ideas just came to me now.. honestly."
She stood up from her vanity and looked at her bandages in the mirror. Perhaps they needed to be changed, too. So she slowly began unwrapping the bandages as she answered Cassandra, "yes...there are many books in there." She pulled the remaining of the bandages off as Cassandra was stepping over to her with the dress. But Alexandria was noticing her new battle wound for the first time. Another scar to add to her collection. She just stood there staring at it, her fingers lightly tracing the outline of the wound. She sighed and looked at the rest of herself. She looked like a monster. How would Aric ever see past all of this? Would he worry about ever touching her again? Suddenly, out of nowhere (maybe to Cass), Alexandria began crying.
[CASSANDRA] Perhaps it was strange, but it was unique, and there was nothing wrong with that. And if the queen thought it would be big and adequate enough, Cassandra would see that it was done. She may have completely melted to know that the library was meaningful to the soon-to-be newlyweds. The duchess seemed to be in her own world as Alexandria unwrapped her bandages, wondering if she would be able to find some particular tomes in that library, when the woman's sudden crying snapped her out of it. "Majesty?" she asked, flustered. Her green eyes couldn't help but drop to that healing wound, noticing that it most certainly wasn't her first one. Something had been done to this woman before, and she hadn't even noticed her back yet. The dress immediately fell from her grasp. "Alexandria?" Despite her nudity, Cass was pulling her into her arms, wondering what had suddenly happened. Was it the wound? Something told her it was far more than that, but she didn't think it was her place to pry. "You're alright... everything's alright," she whispered, not knowing what else to say right now.
[ALEXANDRIA] She had been holding in this breakdown she was about to have for who knows how long. For so long she had tried to remain strong, to appear stronger than she actually was. But Aric had seen her in her most vulnerable state, completely weakened. She felt humiliated. She felt as if she just wanted to rip off all of her skin and start all over.
As Cassandra pulled her into her arms, she choked back a few sobs. Now she would see her this way.
Alexandria nearly clung to Cassandra then, hoping she wouldn't mind that the queen was crying on her now. She tried to calm herself down, but she couldn't. At least not right away. When Alexandria started to calm down, she slowly pulled away from Cassandra and frowned. "I'm sorry... I don't know what came over me..."
[CASSANDRA] She let her cry, let her cling to her while she tries to quietly figure out what could have brought this on. But as Alexandria leaned against her, Cass was finally able to get a good look at the woman's back through the mirror, and her blood ran cold. Who would dare do that to a queen?! Let alone a woman? Her breath was caught in her throat, remembering the caves on Aldsage and the bandits...but Alexandria's words drew her from those memories, shaking her head. "Do not apologize. There is no need." She withdrew from her for just a moment to bend down for that shift, urging the queen to step into it so that it would at least cover her lower half. Then, eyes sought the medical supplies the healer was certain to have left in the queen's room, silently asking if it would be alright to dress it for her. "If you need to talk..." Cassandra trailed off quietly after, pouring some fresh water over a cloth so that she could gently wipe the wound. [d]
[ALEXANDRIA] She complied and stepped into the shift, nodding to Cassandra indicating she could redress her wound. She lifted her arm out of the way, using it to cover up her chest. She remained quiet for a while as her wound was tended to. But after several moments, her voice escaped her, quietly. "I'm afraid..." she admitted, unsure of how to continue her thought, a sigh escaped her lips. "That I will just be a disappointment for Aric... that he will regret all of this." She wasn't sure why she was openly spilling these things to Cassandra now, about her cousin. She knew she would ask her why she felt that way, so Alexandria spoke her reason before she'd ask. "Look at me..."
[CASSANDRA] When Alexandria didn't say anything for a long while, she did not judge. It was obviously a sensitive subject and perhaps she didn't wish for her to know. Cassandra would respect that; quietly cleaning that wound before lightly dabbing the disinfectant salve over it as gently as she could. It was while she was wrapping fresh bandages around her did the queen speak up, making her pause in her task for just a moment. She was, indeed, about to ask what she meant, furrowing her brow in confusion. Had Aric said something? It wasn't like him to be cruel in anyway to make a woman question herself the way Alexandria seemed to be. Look at me... And so she did. Tying off the bandage, Cassandra looked her squarely in the eye. "I am." She wondered if she was expecting her to mention those scars, to cast her in any sort of negative light, but she didn't. "And I see a survivor. I see a woman who, against all odds, has done whatever was necessary to ensure the safety of her entire kingdom." A single brow arched as if in challenge. "You know my cousin is not superficial-" Cassandra paused, perhaps sounded a bit more stern than she wanted to be to try and get her point across. "So why do you still shed tears?" The tone had softened, because she knew better. Being a woman came with all sorts of doubts about your own body, whether or not you're good enough. Cassandra was no stranger to it; she just learned to mask her insecurities.
[ALEXANDRIA] She honestly didn't know why she felt this way. Aric had never made herself feel badly about herself. It was mainly her own insecurities and how she had reacted when he touched her. He hadn't said anything but her mind was running crazy with the various thoughts that could possibly be going through his mind. She sighed softly, wiping her tears from her cheeks. "I don't know why.." She admitted to her. "I feel that I am broken. And no one wants broken things..." Her brightly colored eyes looked to Cassandra, tears were pooling in the corners of them. "My own insecurities get the best of me sometimes. "
[CASSANDRA] Silently urging her to slip her arms through the undergarment, she looked at her quickly when she spoke again. It were almost as though there was recognition in her eyes, more so than pity. Sympathy and understanding, perhaps. "Were that true, Alexandria, none of us would have anything or anyone...because we are all broken in our own ways." She drew in her bottom lip in thought while she turned to grab that dress. "It's just...a matter of finding the one broken half that makes you whole."
[ALEXANDRIA] She watched Cassandra, lifting her arms so her undergarments could be placed on her. The words Cassandra spoke couldn't be more than true, and she knew that. The queen just simply nodded. But at her last comment, Alexandria started to tear up again. "I suppose it makes it harder to find that when your marriage is arranged for you..." She paused and then realized that Cassandra may have taken that the wrong way, that Alexandria was unhappy with Aric. So she spoke again, "But somehow... I think he ended up being my broken half... Like it was fate?"
[CASSANDRA] She could not fault her for feeling the way she did. It was hard, and often times impossible to unsee what you may already have embedded in your mind. At Alexandria's comment, many things went through her head then. For the briefest moment, she wondered if she had meant to talk ill of Aric...yet quickly knew better, before the queen could elaborate. But it had made her think of her own fate, her own arranged marriage, how she had little choice. Hiding her face and her own watery eyes, she knelt down and situated the skirt so that Alexandria could simply step into it. Cassandra would draw it up and tie it about the waist. She smiled gently, but it didn't reach her eyes this time. "Fate is not to be taken lightly, Majesty. You are fortunate then, if you believe this." She sounded as though she did, because she saw the difference in her cousin the moment he realized he loved the queen.
[ALEXANDRIA] She carefully stepped into her dress, standing still so the dress could be drawn up and tied. At Cassandra's words, she smiled slightly. "I suppose I do. Everything happens for a reason, I think..." She sighed, smoothing the front of her dress, before she'd turn to face Cassandra. "Thank you for your help. With getting dressed....and everything lately." She took her hands in her own and gently squeezed them. "I appreciate you being here."
[CASSANDRA] She was suddenly so quiet, so timid, and didn't completely know why. Perhaps she just realized how dark and lonely her life was and she had no hope of it getting better. Or she had hope...but suspected that it wouldn't last very long. She was envious of Alexandria and her cousin; they were fortunate to have found each other unexpectedly. When Alexandria took her hands, she was immediately turning those green eyes to her; her smile widening a little bit more. "I'm happy to help," she told her. "I never...really had reason to do much of anything before. Never had a purpose." It was why she was struggling to find one, for whatever reason.
[ALEXANDRIA] She could sense there was something troubling Cassandra, but she didn't want to pry. At least not yet. A smile was offered to her. "I am sorry to hear that. You do have purpose, though. If not in Tresteria, then at least you will here." She squeezed her shoulder. A small sigh escaped her. "Are you alright?" She asked softly. "I sense that something is bothering you."
[CASSANDRA] "Do I have a purpose?" That question was asked far quicker than she anticipated; her mouth moving before her mind could register it and possibly stop herself. "I just-" She sighed, moving to the vanity to pick up the brush. "Wonder if I'm expected to leave with Edward and the rest, even though Henry is possibly too ill to." Her face dropped a little, not wishing to burden the woman while she had her own burdens to bear. This was merely her own selfish thoughts plaguing her, no doubt. She found her own reflection in the mirror, murmuring, "...I do not wish to go."
[ALEXANDRIA] She sat back in her chair, allowing Cassandra to brush her hair, and she watched her in the mirror as she spoke. The queen frowned and was shaking her head. "I won't allow you to leave and go back with Edward. Not after he hit you like that..." Her brows furrowed and anger splayed on her features. She reached for Cassandra's hand and led her to stand in front of her. A genuine and assuring smile was offered. "I need you here to help me. To find your own purpose for whatever it is you would like to do.... we will make it happen." She squeezed her hands and spoke quietly, shaking her head again. "You belong here now. And that's that."
[CASSANDRA] Brushing the queen's hair actually calmed her nerves a little. It was such a simple thing, but it was soothing nonetheless. Suddenly, Alexandria was speaking sternly, finally finding that queenly voice again, and she admired the woman in the mirror once more. Led to stand in front of her, a genuine smile found her lips, even if it appeared a little sad. Or maybe it was gratitude. With the squeeze to her hands, Cassandra lifted one of Alexandria's to her lips where she placed a grateful kiss to her knuckles. "Thank you," she whispered. The need to stay had grown so much in the past few days, because she didn't know what was to become of her. And that frightened her the most.
[ALEXANDRIA] Another warm smile was offered to Cassandra, and she nodded firmly. "You're welcome." Alexandria meant it..and she would do whatever in her power to help her. She was sure Aric would too.
A soft sigh escaped her and she slowly stood. "So what should we do next?" She was ready to work on the wedding arrangements now that she was dressed.
[CASSANDRA] No one had ever really gone to bat for her like this. No one really ever cared whether or not she was even there...until Aralore. Both Alexandria and Orin saw things differently, did things differently, and maybe they were the true reasons she wanted to stay. Although, she wouldn't voice it right now. The queen had always been nothing but kind to her, and Cass felt like she could be a dear friend. Then Orin, well...that was a whole other matter that suddenly made her realize that had stopped breathing. Blissfully so. Aric had always been on her side with many things, but he had grown distant after Maria passed. Now? Well, Aralore was the best thing to have happened to him. She'd be the first to say it. Maybe, Aralore was her chance for change as well. Blinking, her eyes lit up as she registered Alexandria's words. "Well, how about you show me this library of yours?"
[ALEXANDRIA] There was one thing Alexandria would always fight for. And that was making sure people she cared for were treated fairly and were happy. She had grown to care for Cass very much. She was Aric's family, so how could she not?
Her lips formed a grin at Cassandra's question and she nodded. "Sure. Of course." She grabbed hold of her hand and started out her door to lead her towards the library. And as they walked down the hallway, Alexandria remembered that Cass had helped her brother last night in his drunken mess. "Thank you for helping Orin last night. Was he ok?"
[CASSANDRA] And that was why she was a better queen than she gave herself credit for, and would continue to be perhaps one of the best. Alexandria led with her heart, but even still, knew when not to. And if Aric remained by her side, this kingdom will flourish. She knew it in her own heart. Gladly following alongside her, they made their way down the hall towards the library. She couldn't help but drift her eyes sidelong as they passed by that one, particular room...when Alexandria was asking her about the very man her mind had wandered off about. She actually tripped, stumbling just a little before catching herself quickly. Wow. That was graceful. She forced a small laugh, "Sorry, I think my dress got caught on my heel..." Smoothing out the front of her dress, she finally had her wits about her to answer, "Yes, he's fine." Very. "A massive headache this morning, I imagine."
[ALEXANDRIA] She moved to help steady Cassandra as she tripped, laughing a bit after Cassandra did. "Are you alright?" She began walking again in the direction they were heading, and laughed at her comment Cassandra made. "Yes, Aric wasn't feeling well this morning, either." She shook her head and laughed at the memory of the two of them. "It was actually nice seeing Orin laugh and having fun.... Usually when he drinks, he is an ass and becomes even more broody than he already is. And I cannot remember the last time I've seen him laugh like that. Aric must have been a good influence on him, maybe?" She laughed, shaking her head.
[CASSANDRA] That was certainly embarrassing, but she joined in the gentle laughter regardless. She'd really have to watch herself, though, before someone was smart enough to realize something was strangely amiss. Of course, it would help if the man didn't make promises that taunted her all fucking day... "Yes, I'm alright. Just tired." Wonder why. As they walked and she gathered herself together a bit more, she regarded her with a soft smile. Orin had such a beautiful smile, when he actually shared it. To be truthful, so did Aric. It had been such a rare thing for him as well for quite awhile. "Maybe?" she echoed. "Though, my cousin wasn't much different for a long time..." She wasn't going to elaborate, but the queen most likely knew the reason. "But, hopefully whatever this is keeps happening." A pause then laughed. "Except the late night hallway singing..."
[ALEXANDRIA] She knew Aric barely smiled previous to arriving in Aralore. He was beginning to smile a lot more often than he had when they first met. And she loved his smile. It always managed to make her smile as well.
A burst of laughter escaped Alexandria as Cassandra mentioned their singing. Her voice echoed through the hall, which made her instantly cover her mouth with her hand. "That was god awful!!" She shook her head. And they were at the library doors, so carefully, Alexandria opened the door and held it for Cassandra.
[CASSANDRA] "Oh, so horrible," she added, still laughing in between words. "And I tried so hard to keep them quiet and get them to their rooms...but Thomas and little Edward are better behaved than they were!" They were such a nuisance, she couldn't believe it. Murmuring a soft "thank you", she entered into the library and was suddenly smiling from ear to ear. "Wow, this will be amazing. A little dark, but...candles. Candles everywhere." She looked sidelong to the queen. "Carefully placed, of course." She didn't want to burn this room down. But hundreds of candles all strewn about...it would be beautifully romantic.
[ALEXANDRIA] She continued to laugh as Cassandra explained what she had witnessed. "Oh, I'm sure..." She wished she could have seen the two of them interacting before they were horribly drunk. As they arrived in the library, Alexandria glanced around the room. This place had so many memories in it for her. Her favorite being after the ball, her moment with Aric. Even if they hadn't kissed. Her eyes moved to glance at that very spot. Her attention was drawn back to Cassandra at the sound of her voice. "Yes, candles would be lovely..." She smiled, glancing around the room, trying to envision it. A twinge of excitement caused her heart to flutter.
[CASSANDRA] She slowly strolled into the middle of the room, her head leaning back to examine the many shelves of books. "And we can set the tables all along the perimeter, leave room for dancing if anyone wishes..." Yes. Yes, this could work. It was so different and interesting that she couldn't wait to see it all done up. Yet, that was the thing- there was something already beautifully intriguing about the rows of books that Cassandra didn't feel like it had to be overly decorated. It would ruin it all. And coming from her, that was saying something! Idly strolling to one of the walls, green eyes flickered across the names on the spines. Perhaps she'd find some on herbology.
[ALEXANDRIA] She couldn't help but smile as Cassandra was envisioning everything. She just simply nodded in agreement. It all sounded lovely to her. "What do you need me to do?" She knew there was a lot of work to be done. "Or what should we look at next?" She continued to glance around the room. A small grin formed on her lips as she thought of Aric again--wondering what he would say once he entered the room for the reception. She would keep it a secret from him, then. She could already see his smile as they shared their first dance, perhaps in that very same spot.
[CASSANDRA] Pulling her gaze away from the books, she turned to regard the queen from across the room. Right now, there wasn't a terrible lot to do. She would just have to inform the servants of where things were going to be, what time, and how to set up. But there was one thing she hadn't thought about. "Well, there's the matter of your dress...I do not think there is a seamstress alive that can create you something in so short of a time."
[ALEXANDRIA] Yes... A dress. She hadn't even thought of that yet. And she wasn't certain if she had anything that would pass as a wedding dress. She laughed slightly and nodded. "Yes... Perhaps not." She thought for a moment, trying to picture what she had in her wardrobe. "I'm sure I may have something that could pass... But not white."
[CASSANDRA] Making her way back to her, she waved her hand in dismissal. "Does not have to be white. You're already not being very traditional." That was a compliment by the smile she offered. "What of a cream, a soft blue...or a blush color..." Alexandria would look lovely in all of those. It was a shame they did not have time to have a dress custom made, but these were Edward's terms...and it was more about the day and celebration than the perfect dress. "Whatever the color, we could match the drapery of the tables," she added idly, turning her head as if imagining all the tables set up and what it might look like.
[ALEXANDRIA] A simple nod was given to her. "I will look to see what I have." She smiled softly. Her mind was already trying to think of what she had. But she would need to go through the wardrobe anyway. With a soft sigh, Alexandria glanced around the room once again before she turned to Cassandra. "Could I ask you a very random question?" A small laugh escaped her at the thought of her question she was about to ask. And before Cassandra could answer, Alexandria was asking it. "Do you know what Aric's favorite scent is?" It was indeed a strange question, but she had her reason for it.
[CASSANDRA] She was about to tell her that she was more than happy to help leaf through all her gowns if she needed it, but the queen seemed to be inquiring about something else. A slender brow arched in curiosity. "Favorite scent?" she echoed, intrigued by this sudden and random question of hers. "You mean, for him..." A pause, her tone was heavy with insinuation. The smirk on her lips made it all the more clear as well. "Or for on you?"
[ALEXANDRIA] A blush instantly formed on her cheeks at Cassandra's words, and she laughed nervously, her reaction obvious that she meant it was for on her. "I..." She stammered with her words. "I, just want to smell nice for him at the wedding..." Among other things, but she wasn't about to say that.
[CASSANDRA] Oh, but she didn't have to say anything more because the Duchess already knew. And she couldn't stop grinning about it. She wasn't exactly a modest creature, so Alexandria would have to forgive her. She didn't know exactly if Aric had a particular favorite on a woman, but Cass had some suggestions anyway. "Try some jasmine oil, mixed with a little bit of sandalwood. Place it on your wrists..." Her hands moved to gesture to her own before a single digit trailed down from her throat and just between her breasts. "And here." She didn't bother to tell her that they were aphrodisiacs. Oops.
[ALEXANDRIA] She blushed even more at Cassandra's reaction and her suggestions. A simple nod was given in response, and she said nothing else. Instead, she quickly changed the subject. "Will you help me look through my dresses again?" She grinned, laughing softly. She was all sorts of embarrassed right now. She wondered if or where she could find the oils to use, and if Aric would enjoy it or not.
[CASSANDRA] A low giggle escaped her throat at the queen's blushing, but she wasn't mocking her in any way. It was just nice to have this kind of girlish talk with someone, without the unnecessary courtly gossip that usually involved it. Not that Cass could ask Alexandria such things in regards to her brother...but at least she knew that her favorite blend of lavender and sandalwood had been the one thing Orin remembered. She was biting her lip, idly wondering what time it was when she was asked about dresses. "Oh yes, of course." A pause, she desperately tried to rid her face of that mischievous smile, but it wasn't working. "And I have plenty of oils...should you need them." Did she just wink her? Yes she did.
[ALEXANDRIA] She smirked at Cassandra and laughed. "I would love some, if you don't mind?" She enjoyed being able to talk to someone about these things. Though she wasn't sure if Cassandra felt comfortable knowing or hearing about her cousin and their love life. She wouldn't give too many details, but Cassandra was already insinuating things. She slowly moved back to the door of the library, assuming they would start their task in looking for a dress, and getting the pretty scented oils for her.
[CASSANDRA] If anyone was going to be embarrassed...it wasn't going to be Cassandra. Sure, there were limits, but she didn't always care. Sometimes she did it just to be a tease and torture her cousin about things he wasn't willingly open to talk about. Still, it was their love life...that didn't mean she couldn't help them boost it a little. She'd gladly follow the queen from the library, deciding not to tease her any further. "What about your hair?" she inquired. "Loose, partially down? All up?"
[ALEXANDRIA] Her personal and details of her love life were things she typically kept to herself. Perhaps because of what she had been through in her life. And because she typically was a quiet and reserved person. So it was easy for her to be embarrassed by such things when they were spoken so openly. As they walked out of the library and Cass was asking about her hair, Alexandria turned and looked to her briefly. "Hmm.. I'm not sure. What do you think?"
[CASSANDRA] She wouldn't pry. Alexandria had a question, and the Duchess was happy to comply with just a little bit more. If anyone knew about being private about particular things right now, it would be Cassandra. The queen needn't worry. "Hm." She thought about it but didn't seem too sure. "We can always play around and see." Yes, distractions. And they were helpful distractions, nonetheless.
