ABOUT MARIUS ::

Not much is known about Marius' childhood, and his adulthood is full of mere speculation. He had loving parents who were fishermen who never left Merine. He joined the military at twenty years old, as was mandatory, and decided to remain as part of the Marinai. Training himself to near exhaustion every day, he moved up in ranks, vowing to become at least a commander, if not Admiral, someday.

He was only an officer on the ship Leveret when it veered off course because of a strong storm, and from then on, no one knows for sure what had actually happened. Rumors surround Marius everywhere he goes. The people of Merine know who he is and some have their heavy suspicions. Some believe he led a mutiny aboard the Leveret, while others believe they were attacked by pirates. Many fear he had once been the deadly marauder known as Reaper who would take Marinai ships by surprise in the middle of the night and slaughter the crews, never taking any prisoners.

The only thing that is certain was that he disappeared at the age of twenty-seven and wasn't seen for years; presumed dead with the entire crew of the Leveret. A decade later, he returned to Merine without anyone else from the ship. He barely spoke, only telling officials that they had been attacked by an unmarked ship, and everyone but him had perished.

Marius continued his service in the Marinai, eventually making it to Commander. Another rumor is that he bribed the Admiral for the position, even knowing that many of the officers distrusted Marius. They claim he's a curse to any ship he sails upon and they fear they will be his next victim, or that he is secretly working with Saelis to invade Noistar.

Some say he had almost married once, others think he had lovers wherever he went. He may or may not have children, but he claims to not know.

Isn't much of a talker and keeps to himself, which can make him come across as uncaring and cold (perhaps he is). However, when in command, he is unafraid to show authority.
