My name is Kate, I’m a mom to a little one (Riley) and 2 cats! If you ever see random texts that make no sense, it's probably because Riley got to my keyboard and wanted to say hi! I love reading, writing, crafting, music, and any kind of artistic outlet. I live in New Hampshire and have a very faint Boston accent. If I ever use the word 'wicked' it's the New England word for really or a lot. My favorite color is pink--(but not the baby powdery pink). I also love teal and bright cobalt-like blues. I have been RPing for 20ish years and started out on AOL. It is my creative outlet and tends to be very therapeutic for me. I tend to give all my characters some form of characteristics that tend to reflect my own (even without trying to). TRIGGERS
I don't have too many triggers, but I won't get involved in anything that will involve harming children or animals and sexual abuse. Past histories are fine, but I prefer not to play any of that out or see it happening. My only other big trigger is having my characters cheated on in any current/ongoing plots. So I just ask that if any of our characters are involved romantically, please don’t.
MATURE CONTENT
I use swears all the time and listen to explicit music. I'm a grown adult, I can handle quite a lot of things. I don’t take offense to many things. I'm good with writing violence/fight scenes (though I am not the greatest at it), sex (if the plot/scene calls for it and it makes sense), and anything else aside from the triggers listed above!
ACTIVITY
I am fairly active/ available. I work a full-time job and have a toddler, but am usually free at night once things settle down, or during the day if work is dead.
POSTING STYLE
Sometimes I can get carried away with description/ inner dialogue, etc...so at times my posts can be a bit lengthy--but I would never expect the same from anyone. My only ask is to help with keeping the scene going and giving one another enough to go off with to respond to. I can tend to get bored with some of the "fluff" /chit-chat scenes that have no point/meaning behind them (like everyday household/living-type scenes). If I have the time and am really into a thread, I am down for doing a writing spree with you, but I totally can be chill and wait on things, too!
I like to plan out settings, general ideas and then basically letting my characters loose to see what happens. If it's a big plot, as long as there's some sort of general idea/ thought put into it at first, and an understanding between the two players, then I'm good for whatever else happens.
STORIES
I love a good romantic plot--especially ones with conflict and drama and it takes them a while to develop a relationship with one another. Any kind of tension is my fave! I like developing characters and learning how they handle different situations. I also like adventure, horror, and anything that gets the heart pumping and makes you excited/addicted to reading and writing it!
OTHER
I will play both male and female. Sometimes I feel like I am better at writing my male characters--and I have no idea why. But I love all of my "children" for different reasons. And although I have many characters, I feel like they all have their own purpose. I realize that I cannot be active with all of them, all the time... And sometimes one or several will steal most of my muse for a while--please don't take offense to this, or think/feel like I don't like you or your characters/ writing with you. I have go where the muse is, or else I fall into a funk where I feel obligated and lose my muse altogether. My ADD brain says "do this thing or nothing at all." Please be patient with me!

I'm usually open for most kinds of plot and we're all grown ups here so lets talk plots rather than throw in surprises (unless surprises have been okayed beforehand). MATURE CONTENT I've seen Game of Thrones, and I doubt we can come up with anything more forked up than all the gratuitous swears, violence, and sex scenes on that... but I'm happy to write it if it makes narrative sense. ACTIVITY It comes and goes, sometimes I have a lot of time to be active here- other times you might be waiting 3-5 business weeks for a reply. But, on the plus side, I'm also very patient with waiting for replies, so there's no need to worry about rushing to reply to me. POSTING STYLE Don't worry about matching post length! Sometimes I write way too much description or internal dialogue- particularly for starters (also, I am bad at writing starters so, apologies). Other than that, I'm pretty chill. Though I do prefer more action than conversation based threads. STORIES Family dramas (I have a lot of characters from big families), angsty romances, and anything where the characters run the risk of losing more than they gain. OTHER There will probably be a historical inaccuracy or anachronisms in each and every one of my posts (which is fine because a) this is for fun, b) Elysium is a fantasy setting, and c) because history is mostly pretty boring), but if you ever want me to ruin a suit of armour or tell you the disappointing truth about bears on the early modern stage... drop me a message.

believe it or not i have a masters in creative writing--although i personally think screenplays are more my strength than short stories or novels. i moved a lot growing up and don't really have a 'home base.' i love reading pretty much anything i can get my hands on--from pride and prejudice to ancillary justice.

i tend to lean towards metaphor both in dialogue and descriptions, sometimes wander off into strange fixations, and have a tendency to ramble. my characters trend towards super soft girls, sword lesbians, and guys who are obsessed with truth and justice.

i'm such a huge fan of soft romance, but also dramatic romances...any romances really. i also love goofy sibling interactions, best friends who are total opposites, and opportunities for espionage.

Real name is Kyra (like Kira/Keira), and I was named after the gelfling from The Dark Crystal. I'm a fairly creative person, so I'm normally doing something crafty when I'm not writing, whether it's drawing, working on a cosplay, or photography (I love photographing abandoned places most of all but I've got a handful of weddings beneath my belt). MATURE CONTENT
I'm more than half Irish, so I curse like a fuckin' sailor a lot of the time because it's simply been ingrained in me. It's how I express myself. Adult/mature themes are totes okay with me as well, and writing sex scenes are fine so long as they make sense. I like to think I write these in a non-pornographic way, because that doesn't interest me. But sometimes I'm just "not in the mood" (bwahaha, punny) to do it, and I am completely cool with anyone who rather just "fade to black" as well. Blood, gore, violence, and vile things also do not bother me. If my thoughts on any of these things change, I will politely let you know when/if it ever comes up.
ACTIVITY
Emotionally, I have been dealing with a lot, so my activity fluctuates. Sometimes I can post here and there at a casual pace, or I'll go on a marathon spree in a single day. It all really depends on how I'm literally feeling or how busy life gets. Also, I may only have muse for a particular character(s) or thread(s), so if you do not have a reply from me while others do, please do not be offended. It does not mean that I don't like you or our scene- I just write where it's the easiest to first. Some scenes don't require as much brainpower, or I'm simply in that particular mindset at the time. Again, that doesn't mean I don't like what we have going. Muse can be a cruel, confusing mistress sometimes.
POSTING STYLE
Sometimes I write a lot, and sometimes I don't. It all just depends on what I'm given from the other player(s) to work off of, and if my character has a lot of inner monologue, or if the scene requires a lot of action, etc. For me, it's never about post length, but quality and how much I'm given in order to hopefully give you a good enough reply. Quality over quantity.
STORIES
I love action and adventure. I can get bored with idle chit-chat scenes, or a scene that doesn't really have a direction (not always, but usually). I'm a sucker for romance, especially forbidden, angsty, and tense romances, or the cliché "enemies into lovers" kind of thing. I like drama (in the good sense of the word), and am usually willing to dick my character over in some sort of way or "make matters worse". I love family dynamics big time as well.
My males are always heterosexual, and my favorite kind to play are the witty, adventurous, and roguish types who are kind of trouble-makers. I'm also loving my broody, protective, and sweet boys lately as well. As for my females, although most of my currents are heterosexual, some will swing either way, and I try to avoid the typical "I am woman, hear me roar" types. I hate Mary-Sues with a passion, so I strive to create strong females without them being complete bitches just to prove "they're tough", or always needing to know how to wield a sword, etc.

One thing I really can't do though is actual descriptions around the act of self harm. Mentions of scars or remarks of it having happened are fine but actual scenes with active self-harm such as cutting I can't really do. I also don't generally do heterosexual sex scenes. The relationships and intimate scenes are fine and implying to the fact that they have had sex doesn't bother me but actually writing them out doesn't work well with me. MATURE CONTENTMature content doesn't bother me I and most of my characters swear a lot. Dark and Adult/Mature themed scenes can be super fun and I'm fine with sexual scenes so long as there's some kind of actual story around it and it's happened naturally. ACTIVITYI try to be as active as possible but when I get bogged down by work and stress I tend to have inactive spells. Not that I stop roleplaying entirely just that my brain attaches to one idea and wants to do nothing else but that. POSTING STYLEI tend to do more internal dialogues than descriptive surroundings. This can cause my writing to be rather sporadic on how long it is as well as the flow of it. Though I try to make things as cohesive as possible. I'm also not terribly worried about length. Being someone who can write anywhere from 2-9 paragraphs in any given response I'm more concerned with quality over quantity. I love character development! I love slow burns and characters getting to know each other. STORIESAs opposite as they are I love both romance plots and enemy plots. I love writing cute, intimate, fluffy plots and angry, cold, dark plots. As you can probably guess I'm the biggest sucker for a good enemies-to-lovers pot. Cute family interactions are also super fun and I tend to lean towards either the over protective big brother or the goofy and snarky little brother. It's exceedingly rare I play women and tend to lean more towards homosexual men. OTHERMy memory is absolute garbage and with as much as my ideas tend to bounce around I can forget about responses pretty often so never feel afraid to bug the shit out of me for responses.

I am pretty good with just about anything. Warnings before specifically graphic or otherwise excessive scenes are nice, but I don't have any plot based triggers that bother me.

I am an adult and I am quite happy to explore adult content, be that swearing, sex, or gore. I enjoy writing writing any and all of that sort of thing provided it makes sense with the scene and story. I try to be realistic or at least not excessive unless specifically trying to call attention to something. I.E. Some of my characters swear a lot. Others don't so when they do swear, it means something.
ACTIVITY
All the time. I work the night shift five days a week which means while I am awake, I am probably not around when everyone else is, so I feel a little left out sometimes
POSTING STYLE
It really varies on the scene and the goal of the scene. I love playing off my rp partners posts, using words or structure or ideas that they put in their pot to sort of mirror back to them and show that I am not just paying attention to the scene, but to their writing as well. A lot of slice of life stuff, I prefer to get to the point, but other times more descriptions (external or internal) crop up. I don't care too much about word count as long as all parties involved provide enough detail. What exactly is 'enough?' I am pretty sure that depends too, but it's a 'do unto others' sort of thing. I am very happy to roll with others preferences so if you expect something from me, just let me know!
STORIES
Just about anything! I too enjoy a good romance ('good' being subjective, not necessarily happy or easy), I like to see my characters grow and affect others around them. I try very hard to reference old threads and plots, even small stuff, because it is important to me to have continuity and to constantly recognize what got my character to a certain point.
If it hurts my character, physically or even mentally, I am probably interested.
I especially love to make plots happen for other people. If it's in my power for one of my characters to fill a role or push a plot(in a way that makes sense for them) I want to do it. Love, combat, lies, misunderstandings, healing, pain, whatever it is. I write with people to mutually fulfill that need to create and I love helping others see things come to a head one way or another.
OTHER
I generally prefer to rp men, especially in fantasy settings, but I will write both genders and all relationships.

TRIGGERS
#1 Suicide: Having had two siblings that were both suicidal, I would just like a heads up or a tag that a particular scene or thread has that specific content. With that also said, in OOC in discord I get uncomfortable when it's talked about, HOWEVER if the context it's being mentioned is appropriate and being conscious, I'm good with. Mostly it's the act itself or reading it that's the trigger. I've written attempted suicide before and was okay with it, but I honestly just want a heads up so I know what I'm getting myself into before reading.
#2 Extreme Child/Animal: I'm okay with things having happened in like histories, and what not, it's the act itself, but more specifically written in detail that makes me uncomfortable. Having an npc smack a kid up the side of the head I'm good with, about to torture a cute bun bun and you go into extreme detail? No thankies.
#3 Unconsentual touching: This is more for the sleezy possible npc's. Just ask first and if the situation works/calls for it I'm usually okay with it.
MATURE CONTENT
I swear like a Sailor and most of my characters do as well (unless you're Claire), but they tend to have a reason to swear and just won't get a potty mouth unless it's called for. I'm literally game for anything, so long as there is a reason for it and it makes sense, with the above triggers takin into consideration. Violence, gore, sex, all that I'm okay with. For far more intimate scenes, I tend to just go off of how I'm feeling and the other writer. I'm totally good with fading to black if that situation arises.
ACTIVITY
My activity can change sporadically. I'll be active and then go weeks of not being active because of work or life. I just ask that you're patient with me when I come back for hibernation and get back into the swing of things.
POSTING STYLE
I tend to fluxuate between descriptive settings and inner monologue to dialogue. Honestly it all depends on what character I'm writing as, as some are far more chatty then others. I tend to try and match the length of post I've been given, but sometimes I don't. I very much am 'in the moment" with what my characters will do. Sometimes I only have muse for certain characters, depending on my mood or what I'm feeling, but some are just so effortless to write that their just easier. So If you see me posting with only particular characters I'm not forgetting you! The mood for that particular character your waiting on just isn't there at the moment. Sometimes I'm also only feeling certain threads, and struggle with getting around to the others. I just ask you're patient <3
I also have OCD when it comes it a timeline of events, and I'm a stickler for details. I get real twitchy when things happen that don't take those events into consideration/logistics of things happening and will happily plot out ways to make sure all the ducks are in a row.
STORIES
I'm a sucker for pain. I LOVE conflict, and torturing my characters, and it's not the physical kind of torture. There is nothing more satisfying to me then watching a character get knocked down to their lowest point and then seeing if they're able to pick themselves up again. I drool over good character development, whether it's through romance, betrayal, call to action, a need to prove themselves, what have you.
I love a good romance/drama plot. Specifically anything that is "forbidden", opposites attractive, enemy to lover, the "in love with a villain" trope and pretty much anything that's good you can sink your teeth into. I really love a good adventure plot and a journey of self discovery.
REDEMPTION plots are so satisfying, I feel like I don't get enough of those.
I get bored real easily with meaningless day to day threads, and need some sort of excitement or something to come out of it or else I'll just drag my feet.
I love family dynamic threads, and LOVE siblings. I also really like best friends, and I especially like to just throw two characters at each other to see how they mesh. There is nothing I love more then two characters you wouldn't expect to get along, getting along or there's that instant chemistry. I'm big into connections as well.
I'm a loose plotter. I love coming up with ideas and throwing them out there, and going into a thread with that idea and then seeing how it happens, but I also like some organic things and just seeing how the characters have to deal with the situation they're in and what choices they make that decide the outcome.
OTHER
I tend to play more males then females. My males all tend to vary between bad boy/womanizer's, charmers, complete assholes, occasional mischief, Chivalrous good bois, and the arrogant nerds. I guarantee I can charm your socks and maybe your panties off with one of my boys. Just ask Cassiopia.
My females that I tend to play vary in personalities, and I like to give everyone variety.
I like to give characters interesting back stories that give them something they can try and deal with in the present time. Most of the time it's a traumatic back story, other times it's not.
