APPEARANCE: Standing at 5’6” and weighing 136lbs, Indira is average in height, her body slender in frame. She’s built athletically, making her fast and agile.
Her dusky skin looks as if it’s been gently kissed by the sun, making her brown eyes appear darker than they really are. Her dark brown hair falls in loose waves just to the middle of her back, framing her small, angular face. She often keeps her hair tied either in a braid, ponytail, or thick, messy bun.
While many would assume that a princess would always look like a princess, you may never know of Indira’s royalty status unless she tells you. She doesn’t dress to draw attention to herself and instead blends in seamlessly with the rest of civilization when not at the palace in her homeland of Kahet.

PERSONALITY: Indira is like sunshine. She is a bright soul that always seems to shine, no matter the circumstance. She is warm and inviting, having never met a stranger in her entire life. Free-spirited and outgoing as she may be, Indira is still a calm and rational woman, often a mediator in foreign affairs amongst her people. It’s a skill she’s easily translated into relationships and friendships, making communication and conflict resolution seem almost second nature to her.
Indira is an explorer at heart. If there’s an adventure to be had, you can count on her to greet the mere idea with an enthusiasm that is almost over-bearing. Her adventures never seem to end and she makes the most out of any journey she embarks on. She’s taken the time to study cultures, languages and traditions, her thirst for knowledge never satiated. With that being said, she usually won’t be found in the same place for too long. Partly because she always wants to see and experience more, and partly because it’s less risk of getting attached to a particular person/people/place, knowing that she cannot stay.
At the end of the day, Indira isn’t always sunshine and rainbows. If she feels insulted or offended, she’s prone to losing her temper. She always allows herself to feel whatever it is she feels in any given moment, not bothering to hide her emotions from anyone which can make her seem turbulent.
HISTORY: Birthplace: The kingdom of Kahet, a vast piece of land on the far Eastern side of the world from Elysium. Tucked away in the middle of an unforgiving desert, Kahet is a difficult kingdom to find, and even more difficult to journey to. But once you do make it, it’s a splendid sight to behold. Buildings decorated in bright colors and gold are a striking contrast to the grey and tan brick of the stone houses. The entire kingdom bustles with activity, a warm hum that could ease the most tense of souls.
Her mother, Shala, is a foreign woman that catches Ruslan’s eye during her travels through the kingdom. He engages in an affair with her that results in pregnancy.
As King, Ruslan’s word is law. Despite already having a wife, he marries Shala, making her the second Queen of Kahet, effectively breaking tradition and many deeply held beliefs and causing strife between him and Nesta.
Kahet, for centuries, had been a very traditional society that believed strictly in one woman and one man in a marriage. Women were to be housekeepers and mothers, they were not allowed to get jobs, receive an education and were often told that “good mothers have no time for hobbies.” Men were expected to provide for their families, but were free to do as they pleased, whereas the women of their households had to ask permission to so much as step outside the front door. Ruslan’s polygamy challenged several deep rooted beliefs as both his wives were free to pursue anything they desired, including careers, education, and hobbies. Under his ruling, Ruslan passed a law that granted all the women of Kahet the same freedoms as men.
Kahet became divided amongst those that wanted traditional values to rule as they had for generations and those that supported the royal family.
Despite the civil war that struck up soon after Indira’s birth, both she and Kalindi had fairly normal lives. Together, they were a beacon for the people that stood with them.
Both girls received an education specific to their roles in life, but were otherwise free to do as they pleased - within reason, of course.
Indira’s education consisted of knowledge collected from around the world. She was fascinated from the start. This was the spark that ignited her hunger for adventure.
When Indira was 16, she joined the revolution that fought against the Traditionalists, travelling over every inch of Kahet’s vast desert territory.
She fought alongside her people until the age of 21, when she was summoned back to the palace. A neighboring kingdom was keen on forming an alliance with Kahet for its rich goods and diverse services and Indira was receiving her first task as an ambassador for her kingdom. In return for Kahet’s many services, this kingdom would offer them something they needed - military aid to finally snuff out those that fought against the royal family.
Kahet’s new ally held to their word, sending military aid to help eradicate the Traditionalists. The war lasted for two years longer, but finally, the royal family had won and Kahet entered into a new era of equality and change. The kingdom prospered.
Shortly after Indira’s 25th birthday, it was agreed that she would marry the heir to their allied kingdom. However, she was given one year to live life as she pleased before she would have to begin her return home for the wedding.
She’s so far been travelling for a year, only just now landing on the shores of Teronna.
Kalindi has been sent to Indira’s last known location to track her down and return her to Kahet to uphold the marriage agreement.
