His parents loved him and he had a fairly normal upbringing, aside from being trained and educated rather extensively beginning at a young age, as his parents wished for him to succeed in life, and to be a strong soldier and intelligent man.
- Alexander was a loyal guard to the queen Vivian and his mother stayed home, mostly ensuring that Gavin was well educated.
- At the age of eight, Gavin’s father came home in a panic. The queen had been killed by King Allarick and he hadn’t been able to do anything to stop it. With him and his family being in danger of the same fate as the queen and those she surrounded herself with, Alexander decided to flee Teronna, as he sensed things could get worse for any other mystics who existed in the kingdom.
- His family ended up sailing to Arcisea, where they quickly and easily were able to settle in and become involved with the royal family. Alexander went on to becoming a guard for the royal family and his mother started a small school to educate young children, much as she had for Gavin.
- Gavin still continued his studies and his training until he was of age to join Arcisea’s military. He worked hard and quickly moved up in ranks, proving himself to be a worthy soldier and a skilled fighter. But Gavin still wished to be able to utilize his intelligence for something more. His father had urged him to join the council, where he eventually became a diplomat to King Julian Merova.
- As Alexander began to come into retirement, he started to throw hints and clues to his son regarding the Wellsprings and that he had always been a Cosantóiri guardian, explaining to him of his family lineage and their involvement. When they arrived into Arcisea and Alexander heard rumors in the council mention of wanting to find the Wellspring, he had reported it to the other guardians. It was then that he began the sector of Cosantóiri spies-- a group of men who were sent around different parts of Elysium to be the eyes and ears for the guardians. And as Alexander retired, it would become Gavin’s responsibility to step in.
- Gavin did so, without hesitation. As Arcisea’s diplomat, it gave him the opportunity to further spy and pass along information as he needed to. He was part of the council and was able to certainly be the eyes and ears for the guardians. And as he worked closely with the king and the council, it allowed him to also deter them from actually finding any clues of the whereabouts of the wellsprings.
