ABOUT IAIN ::
- Iain was the sixth-born child of Robert & Catrìona. With four older brothers, Iain didn’t have as much pressure on him and often felt forgotten or like he lived in the shadows of all his older siblings, and the twins often got most of the attention since they were the youngest and were, well, twins. He never held this against any of his family, however, and just felt it was the nature of his placement in the family. Regardless, he always felt like he needed to compete or strive and work hard for what he wanted in life
- Like all of his siblings, he began training at a young age, mostly because he was expected to join the military when he could, and follow in the footsteps of all of the Lee Frye’s. Iain didn’t mind because he typically followed the rules and did whatever was expected of him. He trained hard, and although he would never let on or admit it, his brothers often made him feel the need to be competitive.
- He discovered his powers when one of the twins started a fire that had gotten out of control. Iain was trying to help them put it out before his parents would find out, and he discovered that when he approached the flames, he had the ability to stop the fire from burning anything further until his brothers were able to extinguish it. It was something he felt inside of him and he didn’t know how he had been able to do it, just that he could. Luckily for him, his gift was easy to hide from others--it could just be considered luck, or coincidence, or anyone else could be responsible because he could somehow communicate with fire through his mind.
- When he was of age, he joined the rangers division mostly because he loved scouting, using his bow, being stealthy, and he didn’t mind being alone for long periods of time. He also looked up to his older brother, Eoghann, and often practiced archery with him, growing fond of the longbow. He joined the rangers mainly so he wouldn’t be the only Lee Frye in the division, but also because he felt it suited him better than a guard or any other division.
- It takes him a long time to open up to others and he often comes across as awkward, or uninterested in speaking with others, but he’s actually shy and just never knows what to talk about or how to really interact with strangers or people he doesn’t know or trust. For this reason, he is somewhat afraid that he will live his life alone--although with the loss he saw Eoghann and Aoife go through, he’s not so sure he wants to get involved with anyone.
