The Gods
Elysian gods correspond to the five elements which are the source of gramarye: fire, air, earth, water, and spirit.
FIRE - masc - Aed
God of fire and war. The purifying flame. The alternate form is a golden-winged hawk.
Quick to react, eager to fight for justice. Very much a hot head but fights for what is right, will not support an unjust attack.
AIR - femme - Aura
Goddess of sky and air. The breath of life. The alternate form is a white dove.
Gentle and joyful. Seen as a patron of children, guides people on the right path, and sometimes grants inspiration.
EARTH - masc - Urs
God of Earth and Wilds. Usually depicted as dark-skinned, sometimes with the antlers of a stag. The alternate form is a bear with antlers.
Strong and nurturing. Never attacks first, only protects the earth and its creatures. Model for good fathers.
WATER - femme - Rhona
Goddess of water and of motherhood. Often depicted with hair like waves. The alternate form is a water snake/sea serpent.
Always moving, always changing, pushing life forward. The cycle of life is growth and change.
SPIRIT - genderless - Linh
The personification of life and spirit. The connection between all living things is called Linh. All spirits are one spirit. All souls are one network.
Linh has no face and no body. Linh is an essence, a presence. Those who celebrate Linh often use intense meditation to find the web that connects all things.
THE AFTERLIFE: "Annwn"
A place of eternal youth and rest for those who were righteous. Earthly virtues are rewarded in kind. Those who mistreated others will be treated in kind. "Whatever you do shall be returned to you three times three."
Holidays
Four seasons, four holidays.
Spring - Beltane
May Day. This is celebrated with a May Pole, flowers, a feast, and the crowning of the May Queen. Dandelion wishes are also made on this day. It is traditional to wear white.
Summer - Litha
Bonfire night. Celebrated with flower crowns, drinking, dancing, and massive bonfires. Lines between commoner and noble often blur on this night.
Fall - Samhain
The night of the dead. Ghosts are said to roam the earth this night, and if you host a masquerade, they may attend as one of the anonymous guests. Extra places are set at dinner to remember those who have passed.
Winter - Yule
Gifts are given, trees are decorated. Homemade gifts are most common but storebought ones are increasing in popularity. A world-famous Yule ball is held at the castle in Tresteria.
