PERSONALITY: Those who say people never change have quite clearly not known Freya Bolton. The woman has grown from a naive and trusting young girl to a bitter and somewhat resentful woman. But neglect will do that to a person. Loneliness doesn't suit her, it has worn her patience thin and past breaking point. Used to an adolescence of fine wines, grand parties, and being the centre of attention in every room she walked into- an adulthood of a distant husband with no taste for parties of any kind. She's had to amuse herself over the last decade or so, and though she can still light up a room on the rare occasions she's afforded the oppurtunities: her mood is more often geared towards melancholy. She's adopted her husband's sarcasm, her husband's family's tough exterior, and the tendency to be cruel rather than kind in order to survive in the Bolton's world.
HISTORY: The youngest daughter of three, Freya was naive to the motives behind her piano lessons, behind the reasons she was taught to sing so sweetly, trained in the art of running a household, how to keep herself quiet, how to dance so gracefully, how to be the prettiest bird in the gilded cage of nobility. Her sisters were married before her, and they married well- both matches quietly arranged by their father as though it was a business transaction. Pawns in the games of men, Freya was no different. She was engaged to @vance without knowledge or consent, having only a portrait to base her girlish dreamings on.
Dreamings reality fell more than short on. Almost overnight her world of grand parties was whisked away- replaced with a husband who always seemed to be away even when he was home. Though never outright cruel to her, Vance just wasn't what she had expected from a husband, he shared her bed some nights, they had children together (five years into the marriage)- but since leaving her home a decade ago, Freya has felt as though this has been one continuous nightmare from which she can't quite stir herself from.
As the years have passed, Freya had to grow up quickly to survive in the Bolton's world. She has learned to think quickly, to speak only when she is sure of herself, and to pity no-one: especially herself.
