PERSONALITY: Casey is generally on the quieter side, though he can strike up a conversation if it's needed. He's a serious type, but it's overly serious. He's very passionate about his music, though he's incredibly humble about it, and often shy's away from outward praise. The quickest way to get him really talking, and a bit heated, is for someone to say "Oh you're so talented" The unsuspecting victim will then be subjugated to a rather lengthy lecture on being told he is not talented, but hard working. He got to where is in his music by practice and is adamant that talent does not exist. Only passion and a drive to do better. He'll feel only mildly bad about the lecture later.
Casey is extremely compassionate and is very gentle. He tries to keep a level head in anything he does, and isn't one that gets angry often. He wishes for people to be kind to one another, and is of the belief that a Mystic has no say on whether or not they are one. It's just who they are, and he wishes the King would see them as people rather then monsters. Because of that, he's a mystic sympathizer and like his family, he'll hide mystics at his shop for the night if they need a safe place to stay. He's very intelligent, and actually rather charming if you can get him to open a bit more.
HISTORY:
Casey was born the second son to the Lynotts. He came from a simple family that lived in a small town. His parents did well in taking care of him and his siblings, and when the war on mystics began, rather than fear them, his parents wanted to help them. His parents and the rest of his family became Mystic sympathizers. Casey was raised to not judge mystics so quickly and has gained the mindset of wanting to help in any way he can.
His music career started very early. His mother ran a choir at their local church and began to teach him how to play the piano very young. He took it like any natural, and his love of the instrument began to blossom. He slaved for hours and hours over learning to play and he became quite good at it. As he grew, his parents wanted more for him, and it wasn't long before Casey decided to move to the city. To see where his career could take him. He started out small, but eventually, his reputation grew and he was invited to play at parties and other events. To make ensure he has a somewhat study income outside of his party gigs, he inherited a violin shop from the previous owner. Having taken him in when he first came to the city, old Jon showed him everything he knew about violins and even showed him out how play one. He's not as efficient as he is with the Piano, but he's a decent player and can teach anyone the basics. When Jon passed the shop onto Casey for retirement, Casey turned it into so much more.
He's converted the shop celler into a hideaway for mystics, as well as a section of the attic that has a false wall. Among the mystic community, Casey has a secret identity. Those that need a place to hide know they can find sanctuary for a limited time at the violin shop. To signal to Casey he'll be having guests that evening, they merely have to enter the shop and put something yellow on a shelf. Come dark, they're to meet him at his back door where he'll leave the light on. If the light it off, it indicates that it isn't safe.
