Perhaps it was because he had been trained as a healer out in the countryside where herbs are plentiful, or perhaps it was a cost cutting measure... After Leti had joined on a field medic he had found that the army stores of healing herbs were barren of few essentials. If he were back home he would simply harvest some from their vast garden. Alas he wasn't sure the castle had much of an herb garden. There seemed to be a few growing on the grounds when he had wandered about but not with purpose. What was growing seemed to have been planted for looks. He wasn't thrilled about the potential to be yelled at by the gardeners or his superiors for uprooting something he wasn't allowed to.
So he found himself in town looking for healer's shop. Or at least a place he could buy medicinal herbs to ease his own mind. Even better yet if he could find seeds enough to start his own planters. His quarters in the army's barracks were small but he could probably fit a pot or two. A sign hanging over a quite stylish little shop caught his eye. With a hunch that he would be able to find what he was looking for he stepped into the shop.
His gentle grey eyes swept the inside of the shop taking in it's contents and looking for the shopkeep.

Pandora was standing up on a step ladder restocking her shelves. A soft hum was coming from her as she placed tins down into their rightful spots. Inside the shop, it had a welcoming scent wafting through the place and making it feel warm and welcoming to those who entered.
When the bell jingled at the door opening, the small woman would lean back some and give a bright smile, "Hello! Welcome to the Moon Flower, how can I help you Sir?" she asked brightly as she would finish placing the last tin down and then carefully made her way down the ladder with her basket. Smoothing out her skirt and apron, she would turn her attention to him fully. This man didn't look like one of her regulars but that was no nevermind to her, she always welcomed new people into her shop.

Leti let his eyes cast about warm shop with a small smile before turning his attention to the shopkeep herself. He moved a little closer over to her as he retrieved the list of supplies from his bag. "Good day, I've come to see if I might be able to purchase some supplies. With a stock this large I imagine I should be able to get everything I need." He held out the list to her, various herbs and flowers listed out with desired quantities. "I work as an army medic you see....I was told I could requisition supplies but I do so prefer to see them in person..." If he couldn't pick them himself he would certainly prefer to at least be able to look before he bought.

Pandora smiled as she would listen and then gave a nod to his question as she took the slip of paper for him and read it over, "Well, I have all these and can get them ready for you right now," she told him brightly before her eyes went wide- army medic, that earned another smile, "Well, I have an agreement with military forces. They send me business and I take off thirty percent of the total and that will extend to you as well," she told him with a happy smile as she would go and pick up a long basket and then take her stool and move it to where she was hanging herbs to dry.
"It's always nice to meet someone who likes to come and get it in person, you at least know what it is i'm giving you," she told him as she carefully untied bundles and sniffed them. It was a simple act but mostly she was checking on their freshness and how well they've maintained while drying and so far these batches were good. "So how low on stock are you by the way? Nothing too bad?" she asked him curiously as she continued to gather the items from the list.

Leti was happy to hear he wouldn't have to meander about the market to find anything. He still he a habit of getting lost in the many winding alleys. It did make a bit of sense that shop keep might give a discount if the military often bought from her. He watched her inspect the herbs but he could already tell that they were in fine condition and kept well. "That's quite a bargain. Luckily we rarely see very serious wounds seeing as there isn't a war going on." He shrugged with a gentle smile "I run out of witch hazel the quickest but the rosemary was the most poorly kept after." The healer shook his head as he watched her gather the various items. "Seems the most of the resident medic had been using it for little more than to garnish tonic so the lot of it had rotted."
He moved to lean on the counter "Ah, My name is Feleti Eidothea by the way. Might as well introduce myself since I imagine I'll be round often enough."

Pandora was moving around the shop, looking down at his list and then moving to another spot with her stool and then climbing up it to gather another bundle. She was very careful with her herbs- even those that were dried. Out of habit, she sniffed one bunch and made a little face before pulling out one step that didn't meet her own standards and tucked it into her apron pocket.
"I can give you extra witch hazel- do you want the extract as well?" she inquired curiously as she did go for the rosemary next to show to him so he could see the quality she had. "Does he not know how to care for it properly and how to prevent it from rotting? It's truly not that hard," she said, unable to help the mild irritation on his behalf for it.
"Oh, my name is Countess Pandora Valis but please, just Pandora," she told him. It was habit to introduce her full name to people but she preferred her name over long titles if she could avoid it. "How long have you been healing others?" she inquired curiously as she went to get another herb from the list.

"That would be much appreciated!" He replied eagerly, extracts did of course make some of the work much faster. He wasn't used to being able to get such end products without making them himself. The healer's mood was undampened by the irritation, knowing that she of course meant it for said lazy doctor.
He shook his head with an apologetic expression "well...I think it's more a case of not caring rather than not knowing..." Leti explained rather diplomatically. He felt much the same about it,...and many other of the little lapses in duty around the clinic but he also wasn't keen to go calling his new co-workers lazy. His face flickered with slight surprise at hearing her title. He wasn't yet used to so casually bumping shoulders with important folk. That was part of big cities he supposed. Back home anyone considered nobility even just by a hair would never step foot in town if they could help it. "My, a countess, eh? Well, Pandora it is then." Though he wasn't so sure he should be on first name basis with a noble. But he recovered quickly "Oh, my whole life more or less. It's how I was raised afterall." He shrugged and cast his eyes about the shop "How long have ....been running this shop?" It had been his presumption that most folk followed what their parents did but her question had tipped him off that perhaps that wasn't so.

Pandora would give a nod to that as she would move around to behind her counter to pull out a few containers of witch hazel for him, a little hum leaving her out of habit as she did so. She would open a jar though and sniff thinking for a moment and then setting it aside and then picking up another and checking it and finding she preferred this one of than that.
"They should care, health is important and so is caring for others' health," she said with a little purse and pout of her lips.
She would smile at that and nod, "Thank you, this isn't formal so I am more than happy to be relaxed," she would tell him easily with a smile. Pandora was a strange one, she truly did not care for a persons title, she cared about who the person was and how they treated others, that was what mattered to her most.
Listening to him as she would grab another basket and grab the remaining items, "Really? That's a good career to be in honestly," she told him as she went back around to the counter before biting her lip and thinking, "A few years. It was my mothers dream at first but...she was too ill and passed away before the shop could be realized." she told him as she would go over each item she gathered for him again to check it over again, "Now I really can't see myself doing anything else," she would tell him with a bit of a smile as she continued to check over the herbs, holding out one of them for him to check over.

There were several nods of agreement to her words. He too would prefer it if the clinic workers took their job a little more seriously. He also quite enjoyed it so it was all the more frustrating to come across those without enthusiasm. Though his gentle smile slid into something more apologetic hearing the reason that his new found friend had entered the profession. "I'm....sorry to hear that..." He replied in a soft tone "I'm sure that your mother would be proud of a fine shop like this." His words reassuring but heartfelt. As a healer he was party to many stories like hers. Even if he himself was an orphan he could still understand the grief losing a loved one had on a family.
His expression shifted back to something a bit more casual as he added "A fine shop that I am sure I will be visiting often."

That alone had her suddenly turning bashful and looking down a little, her cheeks turning a soft pink at his words but there was a smile on her face, "Thank you, you really don't know how much that means to me to hear that." she told him. Knowing that someone saw how much she loved and cared for this shop, who was also in the business of herbs and healing, it meant a lot to her.
"Well, If you are I will be sure to keep these handy for you so that you don't run out- do you stay here on land or often traveling by sea?" she asked curiously.

He hadn't missed the blush but he had meat every word of course. He didn't hand out praise easily and as a herbalist himself he knew a good stock when he saw one. "Then I'm all the more glad it was said."
But he shook his head to her question a little conflicted about how to answer. "I should hope I will be bound to the castle for some time....that is if we are fortunate to not engage outside conflict. Truthfully I have only seen the sea once and never set foot on a boat." Though he would be lying if he said he hadn't had a stray fantasy or two of setting sail and seeing far off lands. "Let us pray for continued peace." Perhaps it was a bit of an odd wish for an army medic but as capable as he was Leti wasn't actually keen to see his skills tried.

Pandora would bow her head to him for that, it was a high praise and she felt it deeply and would hold it close to her heart. "Thank you again," she told him warmly.
oh, that made plenty of sense and she would then give a small smile at that, " Well then, with you being bound to these lands then I can make sure I have what you came in for on hand for if you ever need to restock; if you do need anything else that is hard to come by though let me know and I can see what I can do to get it in for you," she told him with a smile.
"Yes. The peace is much preferred honestly," she told him with a rather definitive nod as she would continue to carefully package his herbs so that they wouldn't get crushed.

Leti nodded while watching her package up the rest of the herbs. It would be very helpful to have a shop like this so close by. " I will of course let you know should I have need. It will be much more convenient to come to the market. I had nearly considered sending a letter home to have some sent this way. I was rather accustomed to growing what I might need. I was in a bit of a shock to find healers at the castle don't normally grow their own..." He replied with the tone of someone saved from a very tiresome errand. He hadn't thought to bring clippings with him, nor would they have survived the meandering way he had traveled to the capital. He thought for a moment. "Perhaps I will ask about procuring a bit of space for a garden.."

Pandora would pull out a long open basket to place the wrapped herbs in for him so that they would remain unharmed as he traveled. "They don't? Why not?" she asked in utter shock to that. Why wouldn't they? It seems like that would be the most helpful to do is to grow your own.
Oh that one had her thinking for a moment, "There is some good soil outside of town that isn't owned, what about there? It's not hard to miss and you can mark it off for your own use," she would suggest to him. She didn't know what else would go into getting that spot it was the best idea she had at the present moment.
