FACTS ::

• Born of an Akasian concubine and Aralorian explorer, her father left shortly after she was born. Hoping her daughter would not be forced into slavery as she had once been, Selviana gave Shani her lover's last name: Desai.
• Lucas returned to Akasia to be with his surprise family, making an effort to settle down and establish a life with them. However, the moment Selvi passed away, the desire for adventure took hold of him once again. He was often gone for long periods of time, leaving a young Shani to fend for herself.
• When she turned fourteen, her confused and money-needing father finally sold her into slavery...to the same brothel he had met her mother in. Till this day, Shani doesn't speak of the horrors she had endured.
• Suffering the brothel for four years, Shani finally snapped when an old, obese nobleman wanted a nightly ride. He was crude and he was violent, and she was tired of it. She still carries his dagger, the one she had killed him with before fleeing into the desert. It's a reminder of her first kill and what she left behind.
• She joined the Brotherhood when she was twenty before eventually remaining beneath the command of Sevrin Demarais  for the last few years.
• Hates being called by Ishanika because most Elysians don't know how to pronounce it correctly. She goes by Shani, but others close to her might call her Isha, like her mother had.
• Doesn't trust easily, especially men. Thus far, Sevrin has been the only man she will blindly follow and trust. Although she'll threaten and "joke" with Jack Sexton , she's still wary of him.
• Is vicious in battle, desiring to get up close and personal with wielding dual long knives.
