MARKINGS :: You wouldn’t be a Lee Frye without a scar or two, and Niall is no exception to this rule. His entire body is a collection of small to medium scars, some more noticeable than others- but the largest stretches from his left collarbone down to his right hip after a particularly nasty run in with a rogue mystic. He tells his children he got into a fight with a wild tiger whilst abroad (he’s never actually left Teronna… like Aoife he suffers quite badly with seasickness).
LIKES :: Quiet time in his study, his family, the smell of sea air, bad weather (a huge fan of sitting by the fire in his study and watching a storm rage outside), spending time in the wilderness (especially with his brothers on the rare instances they get chance to disappear into the wilds for a week or so), ghost stories, particularly fond of honey and honey cakes, the scent of thyme and sage, claret wine, loves swimming in lakes but not the ocean, and his evening walk.
DISLIKES :: The conflict between mystics and the crown, having too much work on his hands especially when it cuts into family time, healthy foods, romance novels (his wife has a habit of reading them aloud), stuffy events at the castle, staying still for too long, seasickness, being out of shape, letting his feelings getting the better of him, losing control, and overly spicy foods.
GRAMARYE :: Like most Lee Fryes, Niall's gramarye is fire based. He can summon orbs of bluish flames (think will o' the wisps) which can be used to provide light or cause fires if they come into contact with something flammable.

PERSONALITY :: Level headed and calm, Niall is often the voice of reason amongst the Lee Frye children. He's the first to tell his brothers that they're acting like children- though it doesn't take much to drag him down to their level (any Lee Frye, be it by marriage or birth, has a competitive streak and Niall is no exception to this). Prideful, though not to the point of arrogance, Niall has a lot in his life to be proud for: his family, his work, his heritage, his physique. He toes a fine line working as a magistrate and being a mystic himself in a land where magic is outlawed, this has tempered him somewhat- made Niall careful where his brother's may be brash. His careful attitude, thoughtful demeanour, and the patience of a saint make Niall the best Lee Frye to approach for advice save for Catrìona.
HISTORY :: The second son, Niall had a little less pressure than Uailean did growing up. Obviously he was encouraged into joining the military as soon as he was of age, obviously he agreed to this without comment or complaint. He applied himself well, the competitive streak encouraging him just as much as his family did and Niall worked his way up to the rank of Captain by the time he was in his early twenties. He met his now wife. His twenties passed him by. Before he knew it he was thirty without an heir, spending all his time away from his wife and family. Though she was comfortable on their estate, Niall felt he was failing as a husband, so he decided to leave the military and pursue another career.
Five years ago he began training to be a magistrate thanks to his service, the Lee Frye name, and his ability to apply himself to anything he set his mind to. Spending more time at home, Niall and his wife rekindled their relationship and had two sons. Now Niall works hard to keep a work/life balance that is a lot healthier than the one he tried and failed to maintain in his youth.
Recently however, he's found himself spending more time in the capital keeping an eye on his younger siblings. With tensions ever increasing between the crown and the mystics of Teronna, he doesn't trust the brash and impulsive natures of some of the younger Lee Fryes to keep them out of trouble.
