APPEARANCE: A young man of about average height (5'10) with dark hair and vibrant blue eyes. He distinctly resembles his father as a young man. When he holds still enough to look serious, he is quite handsome and dignified looking--the problem is that he rarely maintains that manner. Most of the time, he is more animated, teasing, laughing, joking, and making faces.

PERSONALITY: Landon is the middle brother--not the oldest set to inherit the land, not the baby brother, his mother's darling. While he's still treated better by his parents than his sickly younger sister, he's still not the favorite. He tries not to let that bother him, though. He's a nobleman's son, which means he has enough time and money to spend doing what he pleases. Aralore may still be rebuilding, but he doesn't see any reason that should stop him from enjoying what he has for right now. Sure someday he'll need to settle down and marry, and he should probably pay more attention to his father's trade business...but he's not any good at it anyway, so he might as well stay out of his father's hair where he can't get yelled at for being underfoot.

When he is at home, he gets what attention he can by hamming it up to make his brothers and father laugh. He's always been the 'class clown' to speak since he's not the business headed one. Better to be laughed at than yelled at.

SELF IMAGE: Landon knows he's good looking, but he also sees himself as the 'dumb' brother. He can't handle the business aspect of things, so he doesn't bother trying. He gets by on good looks and teasing instead.
REPUTATION: People basically think of Landon as being fun to hang around but kind of useless. Makes a good friend but not a good business partner. Still acts young and irresponsible.

HISTORY: 
Landon is the son of a Baron with a decent amount of money, but who still runs a business to keep up his funds. His brother, Alder, will inherit the land, which means Landon should really get his sh*t together and find his own income. But that hasn't happened yet, and Landon is banking on the fact that he's noble to keep him relatively safe. 

Claire's parents were extreme loyalists to the king and queen of Aralore and when they fell, her family moved away. When rumors spread that Aralore was rebuilding, the Beauchards jumped at the chance to return and declare their loyalty.

As with the rest of the family, Landon has been raised to think of his sister as useless. He pokes fun at her and likes to startle her because she jumps easily. When he was younger he tried to give her actual advice (although he often did it in a rather aggressive way) and grew frustrated when she couldn't manage to do anything right. (Again, what he wanted her to do was wrestle in the mud without crying, tell Alder he was an asshole so he could see what would happen, let him push her down the stairs with a mattress under her as a sled...) 

He thinks of Claire as kind of pitiful, and doesn't understand why the queen wants someone so fragile and fluttery around.
