It had been some time since since Daniel had been properly apart of a crew. There'd been a few here and there that he'd helped out with some things but he'd never been one of them. The redhead was picky. When he'd met Billy they'd butt heads at first certainly but there was a fun and charm to irritating the giant that he couldn't get past. He hadn't been part of the Fortune's Raiders long but it felt right.
For the moment things were easy. The waves and breeze were calm, just barely moving the ship along. The sky was mostly clear and such a soft blue color. Sun shone down and warmed him as he sat leisurely on the edge. Letting his leg dangle over the side as his eyes watched the fish swimming closer to the surface of the clear water. Things were mostly quite, for now, and that didn't sit right with Daniel. Instead he took to singing. It wasn't something he often did unless he was alone but it was something he loved to do.
"I thought I heard the old man say, Leave her, Johnny, leave her. Tomorrow ye' will get yer pay. But it's time for us to leave her. And leave her, Johnny, leave her. Oh leave her, Johnny, leave her. And for the voyage is long and the winds don't blow. And it's time for us to leave her."

Kaly was finished below deck, her surgeon room cleaned and fresh with the windows open. She liked it here, she was free, no one hunting her and no one on board caring in the slightest at what she was or even asking. No, her past was her own and now she was free. With her flaming hair tied back in a ponytail and a corset tied around her shirt, she went up to the main deck as she heard singing. A grin tugged at her lips as she silently walked over to him and continued the chorus in a melodic voice; "Oh, the wind was foul and the sea ran high Leave her, Johnny, leave her! She shipped it green and none went by. And it's time for us to leave her. I hate to sail on this rotten tub. "Leave her, Johnny, leave her!" No grog allowed and rotten grub. And it's time for us to leave her."
Kalypso was standing a bit behind him, the boat swaying her body as she gave a rather playful grin to her fellow redhead now to see what he might do.

Sure, irritate the giant. It seemed to be a trait with every single redhead on this damn ship. It was like he was a beacon for them and he absolutely had no reason why. They flocked to him like sheep, except he was no shepherd. Oh no, more than half the time they barely listened to him. They'd listen to Butcher, though. Everyone listened to Butcher because the captain was not someone you wanted to cross. Fortunately for the crew, the man was more often than not drunk in his cabin.
He was already on deck, taking in the warmth of the afternoon sun as he was coiling one of the ropes (that had been left haphazardly) around his bent arm into a neat loop. Blues drifted when the overall quietness of the crew was broken by song, to find Daniel belting out a particular shanty. It wasn't long before his fellow redhead emerged from below deck to join in, and he simply shook his head with a light smile.

It was a quiet day out at sea, and it was a pleasant one because the captain wasn't on deck barking orders. She wondered if she was the only one that prayed he just drank himself to death, but it wasn't a question she dared voice. That would be traitorous, of course!
She was up by the helm, seated upon the railing that overlooked the entire rest of the ship. She rested there, her legs crossed at the ankles as she hunched over a book. It wasn't uncommon to find Juliet with her nose in a book whenever she had the chance, reading the same fairy tales or adventures over and over again until she could find another interesting book at the next port. When Daniel and Kaly began to belt out their song, however, Jules found herself humming along, even singing a couple of the words under her breath. Although she didn't remove her eyes from the pages, she idly wondered if there would be dancing.

The addition of another voice nearly made Daniel jump out of his skin. He'd have fallen overboard entirely had he not recognized the familiar fellow redheads voice. It was nice having a surgeon on board, especially with how often he got hurt. The fact that she liked irritating Billy as much as he did was also a plus. Hearing her join in on the shanty made a bright smile pull at his lips.
"Leave her, Johnny, leave her. Oh leave her, Johnny, leave her. And for the voyage is long and the winds don't blow. And it's time for us to leave her."
The redhead swiveled to face the woman before standing up and offering his hand for a dance. He may have been more shy about his singing but he loved to dance. It didn't particularly matter who if anyone saw him.
"We swear by the rote for want of more. Leave her, Johnny, leave her. But now we're through so we'll go on shore. And it's time for us to leave her."
There was the soft sound of humming he could just barely hear above the sound of their own voices. That made him smile even more. If he could make the crews day even a little brighter for a moment then he'd feel accomplished. If Kaly took his offer to dance he'd spin her playfully before placing one of his hands just above her waist to dance.

Kalypso gave a laugh at scaring Daniel, a smile on her face as she never showed any shame in spooking these men. The offer of the hand was met with her placing her own into his as he sang and danced, she was vaguely aware that the others were around but hey on the ship, they were their own masters so who really gave a damn? "Leave her, Johny, leave her Leave her Johny leave her," Kaly would finish off but then a mischievous grin rose to her lips as she held up a finger to him and skipped off for a minute and returned with a fiddle- if they were doing this, they were going to do it right. "My turn," she told him with a grin and wink. Kaly would start playing her fiddle, moving around her current dance partner when she started to sing; "Villainous, infamous Anne Bonny Villainous, infamous Anne Bonny Villainous, infamous Anne Bonny Villainous, infamous Anne Bonny"She was nothing but smiles as she sang, the fiddle playing to the tune she sung so sweetly. This, this made her feel free and jolly as she finished her breath to continue; "Oh I’ll tell you a tale of a pirate queen A she-wolf who reigned the Caribbean Sea With a pistol-a-ready and a cutlass keen The villainous, infamous Anne Bonny"Kaly would keep playing then, encouraging her partner or anyone to continue as well as she kept happily playing. It wasn't long before some more of the crew began to gather around the two, either humming or singing along with the redheads. They circled around them as they danced, momentarily letting their voices fade when Kaly rushed off. She was back again, urging Daniel and the rest in another song. Some of the men whistled, others stomped or clapped their hands. Billy, on the other hand, grew a little nervous. They were all loud. Although there wasn't a terrible lot to do on the ship currently, he really didn't want the captain to wake up.
Still, he was probably in such a deep, drunken stupor he wouldn't hear any of this. Also, the crew needed to relax and enjoy themselves every once in awhile, no? Sure, that's what he was going to tell himself as he set the rope down and wandered his way over. Bones crossed his arms over his chest as he leaned against the middle mast, watching the two spitfires in amusement. He didn't know either of them loved shanties so much, and he didn't know Kaly could play the fiddle.

Juliet continued to read her book and hum along, her attention only drifting up from the printed words when the two began to dance and most of the crew wandered closer. Those eyes glittered with amusement before she was slipping down from the railing, especially when Kalypso came out with her fiddle.
A smile spread across her face at the song choice, because it was a story, and one she knew rather well. The redheads were luring Jules in closer, and she found her fingers tapping on her now closed book in beat to the music, as though it were a drum. When Kaly got to a particular part in the song, her fellow female pirate was unable to keep her mouth shut and joined in the singing.
"And that’s when Anne met Mary Read A pirate siren Female tyrant Together they terrorized the sea A buccaneering team!"
A giggle escaped her throat and she twirled around Daniel, continuing to tap her hand upon her makeshift drum, eyeing the rest of the crew to further join in.
"Oh they plundered and murdered and raided the sea With canons roaring Pistols warring They ravaged galleons mercilessly Anne and Mary Read!"

As the rest of the crew gathered around them Daniel was more acutely aware of just how noisy they were being. If they woke up the captain he doubted the man would be all to happy. Still, that didn't much matter to him at the moment. Everyone needed a chance to catch a break. Relax, enjoy some music, let their troubles fade away for just a moment.
When Kaly stepped away for a moment he was a bit confused until she came back with a fiddle. His eyes widened a bit in surprise seeing the instrument. Daniel had no idea the woman played the fiddled. While he wasn't much for surprises this was at least a pleasant one. He stomped his foot against the deck to the beat as he moved with the music. When the other female joined them it felt like a proper party now.
Daniels eyes caught Billy standing just outside the crowd. A mischievous glint flashed in his eyes as he motioned for the man to join them. "C'mon ya big lug. Have some fun!" He called with a laugh.

Kaly’s smile grew wider now as she held the fiddle, the redhead dancing, stomping her foot to the beat to bring about the rhythm as she then looked over at Billy as he came closer. Often he’d see her smile but this time it would light up her eyes, showing a younger and more free Kalypso.
When Juliet took up the next verses, she moved over to her, the bow moving along the strings of the fiddle as she would wait for her turn and when it did she picked up the tune easily;
"On October 1720 Gold they struck So the boys got drunk An easy opportunity For a ship of British marines
Anne and Mary fought alone With cutlass flying Pistols firing They fought hard for their ocean throne But lost their victory"
Kalypso did not care if she woke the captain and really did not think his crew having some fun when things were done was a bad thing. They lived on this ship and needed to enjoy life a bit more. She would move still, giving the men a playful look as they sung about female pirate captains and their harrowing tales- maybe one day she'd be a captain. Nah, she liked her position.

If they were lucky, Butcher was passed out in a drunken stupor. That seemed to be the man's routine these days, and to be quite honest, Billy was okay with that. It kept him off their backs, kept them from attacking random merchant ships that could land them into some serious trouble, all because of their greedy captain. It kept a lot of bad things from happening. And, if they were fortunate, the captain would simply drink himself to death one of these days.
Soon enough, Juliet was joining in the fray and the rest of the crew was an even bigger uproar. This was reminiscent of that time in the tavern, when Jonathan had first found her. Despite their captain and what they did, this crew appeared to really care about each other. It was endearing, really.
His arms still crossed over his chest, he actually laughed at Daniel's attempt at getting him out into the gathering circle of pirates where he and the two girls were dancing around in the middle. "I definitely do not dance!" he assured him, having to call out over the music and voices. Bright eyes flickered over Juliet and to Kaly where she had that bright grin on her face. She was usually smiling, but it wasn't the same. This time it was warmer, filled with a joy that lit up her entire face. It seemed the music was doing the same for everyone, including him.

She was giggling and smiling, her voice filtering in and out of the song as it continued on. Most of the crew was laughing, stomping along with them to the beat. Juliet twirled and came to an abrupt pause as she sought the crowd of grinning faces. She didn't see @jonathan or even @jasper in order to drag them out into the circle, but she did notice Billy. Of course, he was far too tall for her to literally pull from the mast, but she eyed him sternly.
"Well, if you don't dance...do you sing, dear Billy?" she taunted, trying to get the rest of the crew to join in on the teasing. Most pirates knew how to sing, even if it wasn't very well. That was the beauty of most sea shanties, however, you really didn't have to have a fabulous voice. Because when you joined in amid the chorus of voices, no one was the wiser.
