Coffee break

[Pandora Valis]

Pandora was happily working away in her shop, right now it was restock day and so she was climbing ladder to set things up on the top shelf. A happy hum was coming from her as she could smell the fresh coffee she had brewing dripping away and as it was the baker just delivered her a tray of pecan pie tarts- she was spoiling herself and customers should any come in.

As the baker left though, she heard a few vials knock and fall down, a frown and groan leaving her as she carefully climbed down while holding up the pale pink of her skirt some as she went to start picking up bottles when the door opened.

"O-Oh! One moment please," the small woman called out as she was reaching under the shelf to carefully retrieve the herbal vial that had rolled under. With a happy sigh, she sat back on her calves and leaned back, offering a little flustered smile, "Hello welcome to the Moon Flower," she finally was able to greet the gentleman as she stood up with the vial to start putting away. Once they were, she brushed herself off some and adjusted the apron around her slender waist, "My name is Pandora how can I help you?" she asked warmly, not at all caring that she just had to root around to pick a few things up. The small woman was warm and welcoming and very polite.

Eryx was on a mission today and he was feeling very determined to accomplish it. He had heard of the Moon Flower but had not had the chance to stop in until now. He was very busy you know, what with his acting career. Many people recognized him as he walked down the street. He WAS currently playing the lead in an incredibly romantic play at the moment and several young ladies offered him shy smiles, their cheeks turning pink as they recalled his various scenes. He offered them a twinkling smile with a charming wink as he walked by and heard their giggles behind him as he strolled through the street.

Just before entered the shop a very handsome gentleman walked by and Eryx paused to watch him walk away, a smile on his lips. Yummy.

As he entered the shop he smelled the various herbs and breathed them in while an invisible called out that she'd be right with him. He approached the counter and when she appeared he gave her a warm smile. My my, wasn't she a pretty little thing. Very little. It was cute.

"Well hello Pandora. It is might fine to meet you on this beautiful day," he greeted her, resting his elbows on the counter and drumming his fingers lightly once. "My name is Eryx and I am in need of a few items." He brushed a strand of hair from in front of his eyes with his index finger. "Particularly something for skin care and hair care. Do you have anything like that, darling?"

Probably to his shock and surprise, Pandora wouldn't fawn over him. She rarely saw plays and spent most of her time working in her shop and the rare occasion with some friends. She gave him a warm smile and nodded, "Oh of course just a moment then," she told him warmly as she finished replacing the vials and walked back around the counter.

She would slide the coffee drip to the side so he had her full attention, "I do, I have many things that I can make. Do you have something in particular you are wanting to aid in your skin? Or do you have dry patches that you are worried about or just overall health of your skin?" she asked him curiously as she would already be reaching for a few containers.

"Now for hair I do hair oils or hair masks that you leave on over night and lightly rinse off in the morning. I make one for myself that I use weekly," she told him as she showed him how thick and healthy her own hair was and she had done nothing else to it, "But I can use various scents to personalize it as well," she said as she pulled out a slip of paper and dipped her quill in it to take some notes to best help the gentleman. "Do you want anything else to help your over all health as well?" she would ask him, looking up at him with her bright green eyes curiously.

Nothing. Not even a flicker of recognition. But that was okay. She was lucky enough to get to know him now, wasn't she?

"Overall health. Anything anti-aging." he told her for his skin. "A hair mask sounds perfect." He smiled in adoration as she showed him her hair and had the urge to touch it, it looked so soft. But he decided that would impolite and held back. "Unscented, please." He preferred to use his various colognes for that.

He tapped his chin thoughtfully as she asked about anything else. He looked at her with his bright, grey blue eyes and gave her a little smile. "I'm not sure. What do you recommend?"

Pandora would write down what he was asking for, tapping the tip of the feather against her lip some as he asked for unscented, "Now the herbs I use do hold a scent in the container but overall will fade rather quickly once used is that alright?" she asked him curiously. "Oh would you like some coffee by the way? Terribly rude of me to not offer while I was brewing some,' she told him with a little laugh.

She would pull out a large jar that she used to put in finished products for skincare and then a taller one for hair. She was setting things up when he asked that, looking into his eyes as she gave him a smile. He had rather pretty eyes from what she could tell.

"Well... I'd recommend a skin oil that you can use all over your body as well that also helps ease muscle aches from working out. I'd also recommend a tea for morning and evening use- what is your work life like?" she asked him curiously, since she could tailor a tea to fit him rather perfectly.

"Of course, of course," Eryx said pleasantly as she explained that it would hold a natural scent for a time. He could handle that. "I wouldn't say rude, just passionate for your work," Eryx said with a wink. "And I'm alright, thank you though." If he had any coffee right now then he would be way more wired than he needed to be for the rest of the day. He was already energetic enough and didn't need the extra boost from the caffeinated drink. Plus he didn't favor the way it made his heart race.

An oil to spread over his body? He liked the sound of that. And it would be useful for after his work outs too. "Well, I'm an actor," he said proudly at her question. "It's a lot of practicing lines, performing under high stress, and often late nights."

Pandora smiled and then her head dipped a little as a little pink stole across her cheeks from that comment, "That is true I love my work and it get's me excited and happy to work with someone to make them something that will help them," she told him with a smile before nodding as his decline to the coffee.

"Oh so you would need something to help your voice and keep things working...and something to distress after as well as a boost for those long nights when you are practicing..." she said, tapping her lip again as she reached down and picked up a basket and started to head around her shop.

She would start to pluck vials and tins from the shelves, muttering some to herself as she slid the small step ladder around to hop on to it and pluck something up from the top shelf to place in the basket before stepping down carefully. "One moment, I need to get something from the back," she told him a she slipped behind the curtain for just a moment to come out with two glass jars, one filled with something thick and white and the other a clear liquid.

"Alright well...good news bad news. I can make the body lotion and tea mixes today bad new you would have to come back tomorrow to pick up the hair oil because it needs to steep for twenty four hours and I can't rush that," she told him with a little smile as she picked up the lotion container and started to add in the shea plant butter and then some coconut and started to mix the two together, "Are you allergic to anything by the way? Just so I can be sure to not cause something with you Eryx," she told him with a smile as she mixed. His name did sound familiar though after she said it, "How long have you been acting?"

Eryx grinned at the blush on her cheeks, feeling quite proud for having caused it. As she so skillfully assessed his needs Eryx gave her an impressed expression and nodded his head. "Exactly," He practically purred, leaning a little more forward as his forearms rested on the counter top.

He watched as she started to move around to get some items and smiled to himself as she had to use a step stool to grab things that most people would be able to reach, her tiny size was quite adorable. He cocked his head a little to admire her backside as she climbed up the little step ladder but looked perfectly innocent by the time she had turned back to him. She soon re-appeared from the back with news.

"Ah darn, you mean I have to come back and see your pretty little face again tomorrow? What a disappointment," he said with a gently teasing little smile. He was clearly being playful and was happy to come back again. "No allergies, I guess I'm lucky," he answered her question.

When she asked about his acting he grinned. "I started acting in small things as a child but I've been doing it as a career for the past three or four years now."

Pandora was wholly unaware of him watching her, her mind working as she made sure that she was getting everything that she would need for him and when she came back to him, he seemed rather casual and easy going still while waiting for her to return to her spot to be able to put things together.

The suddenly he was complimenting her and her cheeks took on an even brighter pink, her head bowing some as her hair slipped in front of her face to hide it some, "I-I-I...ehem," she said clearing her throat she blushed even more, "It does mean you'll have to come back yes," she told him, her tone a little flustered as she gave a nod to him at not having allergies. That was good, meant she didn't need to hold back on anything.

It took her moment to stop feeling flustered and get to adding drops of plant extracts into the cream in front of her, "That is a rather great career path and from the looks you've managed to stay in great health as well given how long you've been doing it and what I'll do is just help you keep that up then, alright?" she told him with a warm smile as she slowly calmed from his comment.

She would use a small spatula to mix the oils into the creams, sniffing it some and pursing her lips together as she then looked and lifted another vial and added a few drops, "Can I see your hand please?" she asked him curiously, "Also do you remember to stay hydrated or do you forget?" she, a little playfulness in her tone but from the looks it was just her being sweet as she held her hand out for his.

Eryx smiled as she blushed and stumbled over her words. It was cute. He liked making her get all nervous, it made him feel very manly, a sign of successful flirtations. He did so love flirting, it was such an enjoyable past time and there were so many lovely people in the world to flirt with, both women and men. Though he usually had to be far more subtle with men.

"I definitely do what I can to say healthy and looking my best. I would hate for my career to be cut short because I was lazy and didn't take care of myself. And any help I can get is greatly appreciated," he said with a wink to the shop owner.

"Oh, my lady, I would never forget to stay hydrated," he said playfully. As she held her hand out for his he hovered his hand over hers, flipping it back and forth, unsure which direction she wanted him but ultimately moved to gently place his palm against hers. His index finger drew a soft line on her wrist as he did so and he smiled at her, his gaze full of charm and delight at the excuse to touch her.

"Your hands are so soft," he purred.

Pandora was flustered, she felt the warmth all the way to her chest and ears and couldn't think for a moment. She was not normally flirted with, so she didn't know what was appropriate to respond to but she also didn't think it was inappropriate for him to do either, she was just unsure of what to do now and tried to not think about it too much at the moment.

"Well anything I can do I will on my end it's just up to you to be the one to take what I recommend to help you and keep you strong in your career," she told him with a smile, nodding a bit.

"Good, people forget that water is very helpful to skin and hair growth," she told him as she would take his hand with a little smile and turn it so that his palm was resting in one of her hands while using the other to put just a small dab of the lotion on and rub it in to see how well it takes to his skin. Biting her lip some as she blew on it for a moment and saw that it needed one more herb to help it fully absorb into his skin and she smiled and nodded at it. "Good, you have very healthy skin," she told him as she let him have his hand back.

The next compliment made her blush again and smile as she added a couple of drop of the last oil and mixed it around more, sniffed and nodded before she wrote it down, "Thank you I tend to make all my own products and test them...so thank you," she told him blushing still as she wrote down the list of what was in his lotion and then put his name at the top of the list before sliding the large jar to him, "Try a small dab and rub it into your arm and let me know how it feels. It should soak in rather quickly and leave no residue," Pandora told him as she cleaned her hands on her apron.

"Yes ma'am, whatever you say," he said with a grin as she encouraged him to take her commendations. He liked her being a little bossy, even if she hadn't done it intentionally.

He finger made another little swipe across her wrist as she rubbed the cream into his skin on his hand and smiled as she softly blew on it. He hummed appreciatively, enjoying the sensation and decided he was oh so glad that he had come into the shop today.

As she handed him the finished lotion he pulled it towards him, "You mean I have to do it myself this time?" he asked with a playful little smirk. He did as she asked and started to rub the lotion onto his inner forearm. It did just as she said it would. "Perfection," he said to her. "I can't thank you enough for all your help. Everything I've heard about this place has been true."

He replaced the lid back on the lotion. "Do you work here alone? Or do you have other employees?" he inquired.

Being called ma'am made her laugh a little, it was a light soft sound as she just smiled and shook her head some, "I'm no ma'am, my Lord," she told him with a little innocent tease in her tone.

Pandora didn't miss the touch to her inner wrist but she was going to chalk it up to a reflex to having his hand played with. It was better than thinking anything else, someone like him probably had a fair amount of ladies at his beck n call or even a wife, so she wasn't going to think much into it.

"Afraid so," she told him with a little smile as he used it and seemed to like it and she smiled more as she shook her head some, "Well next I need to make your tea and I'm going to make you three types. One for your over all health to be taken daily. Another will be for before performances and practices and another will be a strong one that is like coffee but no jitters as a side effect," she told him with a little smile as she put the lid on the container and wrote his name on it.

As she would pull out some tall containers to put loose leaf tea in, she looked up, "No it's just me I've been running this store on my own since I was about fifteen or sixteen years old but I worked it with my mamma before she passed. She taught me what I know," she told him with a proud smile. Boy did she miss her mother. With that in mind she wrote names on each lid of the containers.

"So when you use them up, just bring back the containers and I'll refill them for you and you won't have to get a bunch of containers either," she told him with a little smile as she started to pull tins over and stacking them beside each tall container.

Eryx grinned at her as she explained the teas, "That sounds great. I definitely don't enjoy the jitters." He watched her hands as she worked and listened to her explain about the shop and her role in it. "Wow, you must be very busy. So then do you not get any time off? It must be exhausting work to be here constantly, day in and day out, without any help?" He was curious.

Pandora would start to add in herbs into one container, "No I don't either but I love coffee so I do put up with it," she told him with a little smile on her face. She would give a small nod to that, "Most days yes but not all the time. People leave letters of their orders and I fill them and call a messenger boy to collect payment and deliver," she told him before shaking her head some, "Not often no but I've not needed a day off really. Sundays are slow and I close early then but...it's better here in my shop then at home," she told him with a small shrug of her slender shoulders, her eyes looking down as she used a tall metal stir stick to mix the herbs together.
