PERSONALITY:
Apollo wouldn’t call himself a good person, but he wouldn’t call himself a bad one either.
He is much more outgoing than his brother, and projects an air of ease and comfort around himself. He’s confident in who he is and what he can do (maybe a tad arrogant, certainly not modest) but he’s also well meaning. For the most part. He’s street savvy, resourceful, and likes to tease and joke with others. His temper is something he has never had trouble controlling, but he generally wears his emotions on his sleeve and prefers to let things out rather than keep them in. He can be a little feisty, but it takes a lot of him to hold a grudge. He greatly enjoys his work fighting and killing and isn’t shy about sharing.
His family means everything to him. While the Chargers are an extended family of sorts, his focus is on Angel. While Angel might be off caring about others more than himself, Apollo tends to make sure Angel remembers to seek medical treatment for his own wounds and eats more than every other day. Sometimes it’s a full time job. But while protective, he doesn’t hold Angel’s hand. He’s a big boy and needs to learn to care for himself and be confident in himself.
HISTORY:
Apollo Parish was born to a noble woman and a soldier with the original surname of Kaine. In the four years that Jezebel and Thomas were married they had three children. When Apollo was a year old, his father suddenly passed away and seven months after, Jezebel was remarried. Her first three children were all but swept under the rug. Alexander being the oldest was still given some basic respects while Angel and Apollo were seen as mere inconveniences.
He was very protective of Angelica, even within their own family. Not in a way to shield her from the world, but in a way to defend her right to do what she wanted. The twins shared a bond that even their older brother didn’t understand. The three were inseparable, with Apollo and Angel
He didn’t think twice about his sister’s desire to wear his clothes or study the same things he did or practice self defense. Apollo wanted and expected his sister to be able to do anything he did. When Angelica wanted to be called Angel instead and insisted he was a boy, Apollo supported him immediately without blinking. It seemed rather obvious to him that he’d always had a twin brother. He often defended Angel against their mother and step father, or covered for him.
Alexander too did his best to protect them, but he fell sick and passed away when they were ten. Apollo caught the same illness then, and barely survived. Without their brother and once Apollo recovered, Angel suggested they run away. That anywhere might be better, that the two of them could do more to take care of themselves than their family ever would. Apollo agreed. So they ran.
The pair lived on the streets, begging and stealing for years, getting far away from their old home. Without Alexander, it wasn’t even that. One day, they were cornered in a tavern by guards, but a mercenary and his men stepped in to defend the pair. During the ensuing fight, Angel and Apollo were stolen away, brought into the fold of the mercenaries who had defended them more than their own family had. Apollo was wary of the Chargers for a long time, but he didn’t want to leave Angel and he didn’t want to turn down food and education and clothes and a safe place to sleep. Still, he was certain he would never trust anyone as much as his brother, adopted family or not.
While Angel was taken under the wing of the second in command, Apollo had to learn to fend for himself. And he did rather well. He took to doing whatever he could to protect his family (Angel and the Chargers) and slowly became one of the more skilled and experienced scouts, not just on the physical end of tracking and preparing for battles but when meeting clients and entering new towns.
Currently, he travels with the Chargers and his brother, helping him scout clients and towns. In his spare time, he has continued to hone his skills as a pickpocket and small time thief.
