. S h e. had been avoiding Brennus, even though she had been looking for him. Since their last encounter, she hadn't seen him. And that was weeks ago, maybe almost a month ago. She was beginning to believe that he might have left Avalendor and she was thinking of him as a coward for leaving them and abandoning his duties as military commander at such a needy time. She was angry with him. But there were many things that she needed to speak to him about. And she could not take avoiding him anymore. She hadn't once gone near his manor, and it was not like he came looking for her either. He knew where to find her, yet he hadn't done such. She knew that he was avoiding her, and she wanted to know why. So tonight, Nemesis actually found her way to his manor. She did not even bother knocking on the door either. Delicate fingers curled around the door knob and she'd hopefully be able to push the door open if it was unlocked. If it wasn't, she'd pull a pin from her hair and pick it. So either way, she found her way inside his manor. Once inside, she slammed the door shut, the loud noise echoed through the walls and she'd yell out loudly in a hateful, angry tone. "Brennus White... If you are in here I swear I will kill you myself... Show yourself right now..." Piercing green eyes shifted around, looking to see if there were any light brighter than the rest of the area, indicating his presence perhaps. Eyes wandered up the stairs, and she tried to listen for any sign of .n o i s e .
Been nearly a month since Brennus sought out to seek Nemesis. What was done was done. He avoided her, purposely avoided her because in his mind it was exactly what the witch wanted. He was giving her that wish and he figured that night was a mistake for she could never show any man any love. Her heart was cold as ice and not even hell could thaw it to life. A loud noise startled Mr. White as he sat upstairs in the study, then feather quill falling from those fingers once that voice trailed through the manor and smacked him aside the head. What the hell!! Head slowly turned towards the doorway before he slid back from his desk. " You and what army?" He demanded an answer from her as he made his way over to the door way and leaned against the frame. The man wasn't scared of Nemesis and if she wanted to know, he was actually working on some very important matters. Arms came crossing over his broad chest as he waited for the with to come barreling up the stairs to confront him with whatever she had on her mind.
. N e m e s i s. finally heard his words and they made her eyes narrow. She glanced up the stairs before she would finally make her way towards them. She climbed the steps very slowly. One hand remained on the banister, while the other hand held up the bottom of her black dress so she would not trip over it. "Avalendor's and all the allies that I managed to get to fight on our side." She found her way up the stairs and turned, finding him leaning against the door frame. She held herself back from lashing out at him and attacking him right then and there. She wanted to so badly. To rip him apart and throw him to the birds. Her eyes narrowed hatefully at him and she folded her arms over her chest. Her teeth gritted together as she tried to think of what words to say. Full lips finally parted and her words were hissed out like a snake, right through her teeth. "You bastard... I could kill you right now with my own hands..." Maybe not, Brennus was much stronger than she was physically. But she'd find another way around that to kill him if she had to. She moved closer to him and that door frame and stood dangerously close to him. Her arms dropped down from their folded position around her torso and her hand lashed out and slapped him right across the face. He deserved that. But he deserved a lot worse than just .t h a t .
Brennus heard that comment about her having an army and rolled his eyes. It was a funny concept, really. Even with an army Brennus was a very intelligent man. That's why he was the General Strategist. Without a trustworthy and competent leader an army was useless. Those hazel green hues flaked with a hint of golden widened as that woman climbed those stairs and headed straight for him. What did she want at this time and hour of the night? Nemesis didn't need a single thing. He evil stare was given right back and then it happened. Her words and the slapped sent a stinging sensation of pain to shoot right through his face and chest. Head snapped to the side with the impact before it slowly pivoted on shoulders to stare directly back at her. Hand rose as back of palm rubbed across his face before lips broke to speak. " What in the God's name was that for woman?" The physical Brennus stood up tall and prou and stared down at her. " What is your problem? You can't be hitting people for no damn reason." Was Brennus mad? Oh hell yeah he was mad and was about to eat her for dinner.
. S h e. stared at him still, eyes narrowed at him. Her lips remained parted, mouth opened slightly as she looked at him in disbelief for what he had just said. He didn't know what that was for? She raised a brow at him and shook her head. "You're joking right? What are you doing with yourself, Brennus? None of the commanders have spoken with you...Half of them don't even know you exist. You've been replaced as commander because they all think you've abandoned them..." She grinned but her grin was more of an angry, sarcastic grin as if he were foolish in her eyes. And he was. "Where in the damn underworld have you been? Locked away in here? Avoiding me? Is that what you do with all the women you sleep with? Take them then just leave them? Stay away from them like you don't give a care?" She narrowed her eyes at him again. So tempted to spit in his face like she had many times before. Her eyebrows furrowed slightly. It hurt her to see him, really. Because she knew what was coming. She hadn't seen him in a month and had been dealing with all the things she kept bottled inside her for this long. She shook her head as her eyes actually started to well up with tears. "I hate you, Brennus. I really do. You're no different than they are...And for a while I thought that you would be... " Her face scrunched up slightly as she would almost start to cry. But instead she lashed out at him and started hitting him in the chest several times with both her hands. Like she was losing control of herself and taking it out on him. And she'd start screaming. "You said you wouldn't do what they did...But you are! I hate .y o u ! " .
Brennus was still shocked that Nemesis slapped him straight across the face. Brennus has been hiding, locked away and in reclusion without a reason. His yes narrowed as he listened to what she had to say about the commanders not seeing him and about him being demoted. Head came to shake before he fired right back! " Like in bloody hell they cared! You're the first person to come looking for me. If they were truly concerned they could have came here looking for me!" Brennus was being defensive tonight andhe had every right. No one cared that he disappeared. They just assumed he abandoned everybody. Did it cross anyones mind that he could have been killed in his manor or died mysteriously? No! They all excuse him of being a coward and hiding first thing! Boy, Brennus was hot with maddness and hatred now and her sweet deadly words wasn't doing anything to calm down hhe beast inside his soul. " Why in the hell would you care, Nemesis? You slept with me for pity because you knew I wasn't going to leave you alone." Chest was quickly pounded against and he grabbed her by the wrist and pulled her close. He wasn't about to let her walk and beat on him. Spinning around he pinned her against the wall and stared into her eyes. " For awhile you thought I would be what? You are the one playing with me.. you never really liked me. I think you were just jealous.. " Then it happened, he pushed her against the wall with a thud befor stepping back and away. " I took a stupid chance on you... you've been avoiding me as well! You have -no- idea how I feel."
. B r e n n u s. grabbed hold of her wrist, stopping her beating from going any further. When he turned her and slammed her against the wall she winced and yelled out, almost startled. It was not a good thing to do to her since she was carrying something delicate inside of her now. And any wrong and harsh movement could destroy it. When he finally finished, she shook her head and yelled back at him. "It's not their jobs to baby sit y ou and come seek you out....It was your job to keep in touch with them and keep them informed of how things need to be done. You're a sorry excuse for a commander. You only care for yourself..." She struggled against him, trying to break free from his grasp. She was avoiding him. But she had two good reasons to. But he was avoiding her. What were his reasons? She coughed, still trying to pull her wrists free from his grasp. "Let me go!" She shouted out at him. "I carry your child inside of me now." Her words were blurted out in more of an angry manner, moreso because he was restraining her and wouldn't let go. She wouldn't tell him of the second reason she had been avoiding him. About her vision and his foreseen .d e a t h .
Brennus was eyeing the woman with very narrow eyes. He figured she was always playing games with him, fueled from jealousy about how Brennus felt about Alexandria. Her verbal lashing did little to hurt or upset his feelings and he kept his grip firm and steady. Was it true that Brennus only cared about himself? Oh, he would have something to say about that! " You only care about yourself too! I haven't seen you coming to find me after that fateful night!" Then he heard something he was NOT expecting and that grasp was quickly released. He couldn't believe she had told him that and it came to a great surprise. " What?" A step back was taken. He didn't know how to react.. didn't know what to do. " Are you certain?" The question came very quietly as he headed for the window to stare out and think about how dramatically this could change his life.
. N e m e s i s. was hardly jealous of his feelings for Alexandria. She knew that his feelings for her were pointless as the queen would never be with him now. She knew about her and Thais, she had even seen Thais propose to her in a vision once. But she also had a vision that Brennus would try and ruin that, and ruin Avalendor with his own selfish greed. Was Nemesis selfish? Did she only care about herself? Hardly. She would not have slept with Brennus if she did. She had sacrificed her own. . . life, to try and stop Brennus from his plans to ruin things. She smirked at his little outburst and shook her head at him. She wasn't going to waste her breath convincing him wrong. It was useless. Brennus wanted to blame everyone, fine. She had her reasons for avoiding him. And she even wondered now why she hadn't just continued avoiding him and had decided to burst into his manor like this now. She kept her eyes narrowed at him, even after he released his grip around her wrists and walked away, moving towards the window. She watched him, the dark, beautiful features of her face showed no emotion. She slowly moved into the room, arms moving around her torso. She let out a sarcastic laugh. "Of course I'm certain. Do you seriously think I'd make up something like this?" Her eyes continued to narrow at him and she'd shake her head. "The last thing I'd do is come up with an excuse to be stuck spending the rest of my life with you." She shook her head again and moved towards that window, standing next to him. She stared out of it for a long moment before turning pierceful green eyes to look back at him. "You need to leave Avalendor...Go back to Scotland? Before this war starts. I don't want you here." She looked back out the window. Her eyes were welling up with tears almost but she tried to hide them from her. She didn't want to tell him the real reason and she'd avoid it if she could. Without looking at him, she continued to speak. "You're not wanted here. They've already replaced your position and you will become a nothing... Go back to Scotland where you can make something of yourself. I don't want you staying here because I'd be holding you back...And I won't raise the child in a house of hatred. I won't do that to my son as I was brought up... Amongst hate." She shook her head, her teeth clenching together behind closed lips. "Just go..." She lifted her eyes to him again, narrowed. She was trying to save his life. She did not want to be responsible for another death that she could have stopped. Her own father's death and her unborn sister's death she had foretold before, and never stopped them. And now, here she was stepping in the way of fate again, knowing very well that somewhere down the line she'd suffer a punishment for this. She shook her head again and shoved Brennus back. "Just leave! I don't want you here!" Her eyes squinted as she fought back the tears from falling. A small cry escaped her lips and she turned away from him and just headed for the .d o o r .
