Shop buddies!

[Pandora Valis]

Pandora found it was high time for a new book and to see if there were any other that she might have that were interesting. She was dressed rather simply, a corset over a dark pink dress with black accents and her apron since she just stepped out of her stop. This time though, to save her poor ankles, she brought something for the randy cat that liked to sneak up on people.

Walking inside, she would crouch, "Lucifer...I got a toy for you..." she called out as she rolled a ball made of nothing but catnip and catnip extract out onto the floor for him to attack instead of her. Best gift she could offer the feline to spare her ankles anymore attacks that he might wish to give her.

She would straighten then, smoothing her skirt and apron some as she would start to look around while waiting for Hayden Faragher to pop up after the bell rang to announce her. Pandora was wanting to also broaden her book horizons and maybe she would be given a good recommendation.

It wouldn't take long for the Lord of the bookstore to accept the peace offering from the tiny mortal that had brought it to him. Drawn to the smell of catnip, a black dart, shot from the shadows, jumping on the ball, where he proceeded to roll onto his back then, as he chewed on it. His back legs coming up to scratch at it, before he twisted and got off, running off with the toy, and disappearing into the stacks of various books. 

Much like the many stories within it's walls, Lucifer's pleasures was like stepping into a different world. Books shelves liked the walls and the majority of the space, while tall stacks of books littered the floor. It was both a labyrinth of treasure, and a death trap. There was no rhyme or reason to the books, as Hayden was a poor organizer. You literally had no idea what sort of book you were to find on a shelf as they were all random. Only Hayden seemed to have any sense as to where anything was, as she'd read most of the books in the store, and knew where she put them down. 

Hayden wasn't anywhere in sight, as she was currently in the upstairs apartment, destroying her closet. She was so stupid, WHY did she say yes to Ethan? Why did she agree to go to such a glamorous and elaborate event such as a ball with him?! She had nothing to wear! At least nothing that would work for a ball full of nobles. One glimpse at Hayden and you would be able to tell that she was not of noble birth. At least...legitimate noble birth. No, she had to be cursed with being the bastard daughter of a noble who had gotten his maid pregnant and then forced her into a life of prostitution in order to support herself and her baby. 

She'd left the door open to the upper, one room apartment, and heard the bell ring from the store below. With a frustrated huff, she tossed the dress she'd been holding, though lovely, on the bed and walked towards the door. Going down the stairs, she navigated expertly through the stacks of books until she could see the front, and seeing at who had come in, she let an exasperated cry out. "Paaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!!!!!" She said hurrying over. "I've done a terribly stupid thing, and I need help." She told the shorter woman as she got closer. Walking around the counter, she threw herself on her stool and laid her head on her arms as she put her head down on the surface of the desk.

Pandora would look to Lucifer as he took the offering and attacked it with gusto! It was perfect and she had the special bath of catnip just for him and he would be gifted with it each time until the cat associated her with treats and would show love to her and not others. It made her grin and giggle a little at how she was attempting to train the cat without doing much work.

Hearing Hayden though, she would look to her and head over and then immediately behind the counter and place a hand on her. Now she was worried, was she sick? Hurt? Did someone make her upset? Oh no, Pandora was now worried, "What happened and what stupid thing? You know I'll help you just need to tell me what happened," she told her quickly, wanting to assure her that anything could be fixed and taken care of with a little help.

Gently, she would rub her back in an attempt to calm her down enough to get some information from her.

Hayden didn’t really have friends. Lucy had taken her in four years ago, and she’d been as feral as the damned cat, but Hayden had learned to trust the woman, and it was around that same time that Pandora had started her shop up next door.

The younger woman had been a blessing in disguise and had even reminded her of sweet Eden who was still back in Candlelights. Over those first few months, Hayden had learned to trust again, and now would consider Pandora a friend. A large annoyed groan, sounded from her before she raised her head and looked at the little woman. Her stress at the situation she’d gotten herself into was making itself known. “I agreed to be a date to the Masquerade ball the Lee Frye’s are throwing, and I have nothing suitable to wear among nobles and other various snooty pantses!” She exclaimed. “One look at me and they’ll know I’m a commoner. I’ll probably get tossed out.” She grumbled, her upper lip curled for a brief moment in a sneer, before it fell away, and she was returned to her despairing fate. “I’m an idiot for agreeing to such a thing.” She whined.

Pandora would smile and then let out a little gasp at hearing that she was going as well! It was easy then to forget she called her a snooty pantses as well since she was noble but really, Panda didn't care at all.

"Well I have a solution to fix that. I have a date as well and I need to go dress and jewelry shopping and you are going to come with me. I will provide our make up and perfumes, I have those at my shop but stop fussing," she told her with a little smile as she grabbed her hand and gave it a squeeze to reassure her. "You are not an idiot and I can help you, I promise, it will be just fine ok? Come on, close your shop; I already gave Lucifer a treat and he's happy as a clam right now and might be a bit high for a while actually," she told her, that last part fading a little as she spoke. Who didn't find high cats cute and funny? She knew that she did!

Pandora was going to take Hayden to the best dress shop and get her an entire outfit and make all the other nobles jealous of her. She knew that she could show her how to walk and be a little proper without losing who she is in the process.

Hayden watched Pan curiously before the other revealed what her intentions were, and her blue eyes went large. She furiously began to shake her head at Pan. Absolutely not! She couldn't ask Pandora to go through those sort of lengths for her, for a dress she would probably only wear once. She couldn't do it!

"Oooooh no. No, Pan I can't accept that kind of generosity! It's too much. I'll come up with something, I just-I just don't know where to begin." She tried to tell her. It was hard for Hayden to accept any help from anyone really, given how she was raised. She had to work hard for what she wanted, and she'd seen what gifts had done to the other girls at the brothel. It made her sick to think about. Not to mention, that despite Panodra being a noble, she didn't want an easy hand out either. She wasn't a charity case, not that she thought Pandora thought that about her. It was just...hard.

"You drugged my cat?" She blurted, narrowing her eyes in confusion, as she leaned up to look over the counter. She saw him go zooming by with something in his mouth, clearly content with whatever it was. She trusted that Pan had given him some sort of Cat friendly treat. She glanced back at Pan, chewing on her bottom lip as her brows furrowed. "Really Pan, I'll be okay, I just...Might need help with my hair." She said with a small smile.

Pandora was quiet, she just let Hayden protest for the moment while she let out a little hum while patiently waiting for her to stop telling her no. She wasn't going to listen to her and so then Pan would have to come up with another way to get her out in a sneaky manner.

"Hayden, come on, at least come and look at dresses then. I need help finding a dress that will look nice and that Lord Bolton will like on me and so I won't look silly so you can at least look and see what you might like as well," she told her with a little sweet smile. She would hold her hand and squeeze again with a little bounce.

"Oh it's for cats anyways he'll be fine. It's a special blend just for him," she told her with a bit of a grin. "I will help with your hair and all of that but still, come on, please? I don't ever get to shop with anyone," she would ask her, giving her a sweet little pleading look to come with her and just not say no. Pandora was relying on her sweet angelic face to get her way right now, hoping it would work.
