He tried a little of everything but not more beyond that. He didn't foresee anything stressful occurring any time soon thay would make him lose his meal but he didn't like to gamble.
Pearce smiled. "Duck, hmm?" He'd have to see about getting some sometime for Briella to make with Zander. He imagined Zander wouldn't approve of that straight up. "Briella, if you c-can write me the ingredients you need, I'll be sure to get everything the next day." At least then she had to work for it.
The nobleman raised an eyebrow. "No favorite thing to eat?" He asked, watching the two of them playfully harass the other. Adorable trouble.
He was a little surprised by the first name in front of his sister but it certainly wasn't a secret they were friendly. "I don't cook, no. B-but I like scones." Not that he managed to eat something like that most of the time.
Breeze was very very interested in the chicken. But she was well enough mannered to not jump and of course to pretend she was entirely a bystander in the moment. Pearce chuckled lightly. "Don't tease her like that. She hunts small animals."
And Pearce dreaded when the cat brought her kills to him.

Zander knew all too well what his sisters magic was. Not that she understood, and he was willing to continue having her believe whatever it was that she did. The last thing he wanted was for her to be worried or confused about how different she was from the people around her. He also hadn't told anyone that he was a Mystic since they fled from Teronna. After seeing what happened to his home he couldn't handle going through it again.
Briellas eyes lit up at the idea of being able to cook the thing she loved the most with her brother again. "Okay!" She stated excitedly with a bright smile. Though Zander didn't like the idea of Pearce doing more for them the idea of getting her to work on her writing with the reward of cooking with her was a good plan. That was something he couldn't deny at least. Scones wasn't ever something he'd made before though it could be interesting to learn "I'm sorry." The girl muttered with a small pout.
Once they were done eating Zander told Briella to go play. She instantly made her way over to Breeze and crouched down beside her. Briella ran her hand gently over the cats head and whispered softly to it, her eyes occasionally darting back to her brother and Pearce. Zander shook his head at her with a smile. "You better not be revealing my secrets!" He called teasingly before turning his attention to the noble.

Pearce knew the siblings had come here as refugees from something in Teronna. The man was aware of current events and some of the internal conflict the kingdom had. But as close as he was with Zander he hadn't asked. He figured the boy would tell him if it was important and when he was ready. In the meantime, it was stress the brother and sister didn't need so he didn't bother them.
He wasn't sure how to read Zander's expression but he blushed anyway. It was difficult for him to not want to help others and to make them happy. And it was just a meal. To him it didn't mean that much or cost that much. "I mmmeant it as a j-joke. Breeze won't eat you." Small animals. Clearly they hadn't gotten it. Aw well. He smiled awkwardly.
He was admittedly a lot more conscious of his stammer around those he was less familiar with. And around his students. He might not teach public speaking but reading required pronunciation. He felt self-conscious even more with Briella around children were notoriously inquisitive and many found his poor speaking ability amusing or at least odd for a someone who claimed to be a teacher.
Breeze rubbed her head against the girl's hand and then puddled at her feet. She was quite attached to the nobleman and both really wanted that chicken but also clearly preferred the fun of the hunt. The cat was convinced both Pearce and Zander should eat more and was curious if Briella wanted to learn to hunt. Secrets were not something that occured to the cat. Lying wasn't a very natural thing to do, after all.
"More than one, hmm?" Pearce teased softly. He hadn't eaten much but he at least felt more at ease.

Briella nodded excitedly at the idea of learning to hunt with Breeze. There had been far too many nights she knew her bother wouldn't eat so that she could. Perhaps if she could help bring in more food then her brother wouldn't have to worry so much. She could be of some help. With that idea in mind the two jumped up and ran off to find some poor mouse or rabbit to hunt down.
Zander didn't pay much mind to her running off with Breeze. He felt she was safe enough inside the walls of the garden and now he had some private time with Pearce. While when they first met Zander had been very aware of the mans stutter he barely noticed it any more as it was. Briella had asked him about it a few times but he simply explained it was just a speech impediment. Something the man couldn't really control. Though it seemed a little more under control when Zander had him alone.
The redhead wrapped his arms around Pearces neck with a soft smile. His past wasn't entirely something he liked thinking about. He hadn't told Pearce about any of it because he worried that the man might think differently of him. Aralore was supposed to be a fresh start. Though there was a pat of him that knew he'd need to tell him eventually, but not just now. "So how about a little celebration tonight?" He teased with a grin.

Rabbit or squirrel was preferable but a mouse or small bird would due too and those were a bit more common. Of course, first theu needed to work on Briella's footwork. She was rather loud. Breeze was an easily distracted teacher, however, always alert to small movements and noises and anything that was fun to chase.
Breeze generally kept inside the walls, at least during the day.
Pearce was always aware. He was certain he hadn't had such a problem when he was very young but he'd done it for a long time and it was worse when he was nervous. It was quite the tell. Zander specifically was a lot more rrassuring. Sometimes.
He smiled as Zander settled his arms around him and pressed a soft kiss to the young man's cheek. "Th-thank you for dinner," he said quietly.
At Zander's suggestion his face and neck flushed red but hw nodded slightly. "I...uh...if you w-want to?" So much 'not the point in Zander living here' but Pearce certainly was willing to offer the boy his bed any time the other wanted. Which...maybe that was too generous and vague but he liked the boy a lot, including his large appetite. "Anytime you like," he confirmed. Even just to sleep together, though he knew Zander usually wanted more than that.
He stayed in his seat for a while longer, letting his stomach settle and wrapping an arm around Zander, enjoying the moment of closeness.

Briella tried to follow after Breeze in a silent manner. With a huff she removed her shoes and placed them neatly under a bush before following after the cat again. When she heard the same birds from earlier above her head the girl smiled as she looked up at them. "Hi friends."
Zander idly ran his fingers through the mans hair and smiled at the kiss on his cheek. "Any time." He purred before returning a kiss to his cheek. It was nice to just be close to him. To just enjoy a moment together without worrying about going back to the citizen manor or getting his sister. "She knows by the way, that I like men." Briella had known since she was six that her brother was interested in boys when she caught him kissing one in their barn one night. She never batted an eye to the idea but her brother still insisted she didn't need to see things like that anymore.
As it started getting a bit darker Zander stood with a stretch. "Briella! Come back you need to practice your writing." After a short moment the girl came running back holding her shoes in her hand. Zander gave her a confused smile as he pulled leaves and a few twigs from her soft blonde hair. "Where the hell did you go?" He asked with a chuckle. "Breeze was teaching me to hunt."

Breeze approved of the lack of foot coverings, it did help. She was amused at first that the girl bothered to greet birds. The cat was a higher being than those house sparrows, after all. They were food. Talking to food was...funny. and pointless. The cat stalked after other prey however. Something more grounded.
Pearce enjoy Zander's hands in his hair and on him just in general. It was certainly relaxing and nice to feel normal with Zander. It was enough to get over the mild anxiety of having both Brogthamons staying with him. Near him. Maybe Zander with him.
And then the young man mentioning his sister knew...there was a flash of anxiety again. Less because at least it seemed likely the girl didn't care. But knowing her brother liked men and knowing he liked a specific one...that was different. And even he could appreciate that Briella was a child and they could be discrete.
Pearce shared the confused smile at the girl's reappearance. Shoeless, and like she had crawled through a bush. "Teaching you to what?" The nobleman asked, wondering if he had misheard. He was more than aware of Breeze's activities. But for Briella to follow her around...he just hoped Breeze wouldn't be annoyed with the girl.
He was suddenly aware that the cat wasn't here. Still hunting, probably. He grimaced uncomfortably.

"To hunt!" She repeated with a small excited bounce. "Breeze thinks it would be good for me to learn but I was too loud with my shoes on so I had to take them off." Zanders eyes widened a bit as he quickly lifted his sister into his arms.
"Alright mo stoirín, that's enough of playing with the cat for one day." Though he doubted Pearce would suspect magic he also didn't want to think Briella was strange. She was a child, children were weird certainly, but he didn't want him to worry she might antagonize his cat. As he placed Briella on his shoulders he grabbed her shoes then looked back at Pearce. "I'll be back with you in a moment." If anything he could deliver the writings from his sister to the man. Though he did have every intention of spending more time with him.

The girl certainly had a vivid and creative imagination. Following the cat like an apprentice to a master hunter. Pearce smiled awkwardly.
Zander's look of something more than surprise didn't go unnoticed. But he wasn't sure what to make of it. Zander seemed quite the protective sort. A d he did try not to antagonize the nobleman. Maybe he worried his sister was behaving a bit too oddly. But she was young.
He nodded and pushed up from the table. "Don't rush. I'll be in the library when you are ready." With some calming tea and a good book. They had spent plenty of evenings together and were apt to spend plenty more in the same way. Pearce wouldn't begrudge the boy time with his sister. As the two left to settle i to their new home a bit, he did exactly what he said he would.

Zander didn't bring up the issue with the cat to his sister. He didn't want her to feel strange for simply enjoying herself. Though he did worry about what she was doing hunting with a cat. Once they were back at their new home he pulled out her writing book and sat with her as she wrote down the recipe for the meal she'd told Pearce about.
As it got late he carried her up to her bed and tucked her in with a soft smile. "Oíche mhaith ceann beag." He stated softly before quietly making his way out with the paper in hand. Zander entered the main manor and went up to the library. He knocked three times before entering with a soft smile. "She's rather proud of this one." He said with a chuckle as he made his way towards the nobleman.

He was almost asleep when the knocking drew him back to the brink. He hadn't intended to sleep yet, after all. Not until he and Zander had talked a little about...well...not their relationship exactly but Pearce still wanted the young man to know he wasn't here just so Pearce could sleep with him. He blushed at just seeing the man again.
Pearce blinked at Zander, confused by his words for a second before he shook it off. "Oh, the recipe already?" He smiled and straightened himself in the armchair, holding out a hand for the paper. He'd be the judge of how proud anyone was of it.
"Will she be alright by herself?" Pearce asked. It was a new place, and he didn't want either of them uncomfortable.

Zander handed him the paper with a chuckle. When he'd read over it it had seemed good enough, aside from a few minor spelling errors. There were also some doodles of rabbits on the sides with little hearts or flowers. She was still an easily distracted little girl after all. He was aware that Pearce hadn't invited him to live there as a ploy to get him in bed. It wasn't as if he needed an excuse for that.
Though it wouldn't be as if it was the first time that was all a man wanted him for. It was what he had grown used to but with Pearce things felt different. His question made him smile. "That girl could sleep through a hurricane." Though he knew she was afraid of thunder storms while awake she was an awful heavy sleeper and he never worried about her much. Given that she was so close as well e knew he could check on her quickly if he needed to.

Minor spelling errors. And her K's were a mess. But it was legible and rather impressive. Pearce smiled a little at the drawings. He wasn't much of an artist himself and he certainly didn't fault the young girl or anyone else the things they needed to do to focus.
"It's rather good," he admitted. "But I don't think we're having duck tomorrow." He set the parchment on his desk. He wasn't aboit to demand complete perfection but the spelling errors could be fixed. And he imagined Briella would be motivated to improve quickly enough in exchange for good food. And lessons often worked better with subject matter the pupil liked...so apparently cooking might be a theme for a while. Too bad Pearce knew nothing about cooking.
He covered a yawn. "A hurricane?" He chuckled. "I'm a little jealous." Pearce was a heavy sleeper too, but even he couldn't sleep through a storm. Not when thunder shook the house and wind slammed against the windows. Still, after certain activities he was even less inclined to pay attention to the world.
"Do you want to...to sleep with me tonight?" He asked. Not the first time they had but Pearce was suddenly uncertain if he had explicitly asked before.

"That's fine with me, though she might be a little sad." He said with a small chuckle. It seemed that Pearce was much more tired than Zander was. Not to say the boy wasn't starting to feel sleepy but he was used to staying up late. He moved to stand straddled over one of the mans knees with a smile. "Though I'm sure she won't be too heart broken over it."
Zander watched as he tried to cover a yawn and chuckled. The redhead took his hand and idly ran his thumb over his knuckles. "Do you even need to ask?" He teased before tugging him up from the seat. "Come on, it's getting late. Let's go ahead and get to bed." He said softly before giving him a quick kiss on the lips. It wouldn't be the first time they shared a bed together though it felt a bit different some how. Maybe due to the fact that it was his first night living at the manor. Knowing he wouldn't need to worry about where his sister was or if she was okay. He could relax and just enjoy the moment with Pearce.

Pearce bite his lip at the thought. He didn't want to upset her or anything. Zander's reassurance helped a little. "I d-don't...she'll have to earn it. S-soon," he said. He was certain of that much. If now a little more anxious about tomorrow.
Pearce had had a long day, as he did most days. And reading at night often saw him put to sleep. Staying up late was not on his to-do list.
The nobleman smiled as Zander showed his affections. So maybe he didn't need to ask. At least, not after this time. Pearce blushed.
He stood and was already moving to kiss the boy when he leaned into one. "Sounds lovely," he agreed, taking Zander's other hand to pull him into a hug before leading them out of the library and to the staircase and up the steps. It did feel different.
The nobleman pulled his bedroom door closed behind them, pausing in front of it for a moment, just looking at the younger man, a faint smile on his lips. "I can't believe I get to sleep with you," he said with a smile.
