FACTS ::
- Elayne always seemed ahead of her time, sticking her nose in a book to learn as much as there was possibly to learn. This led her to healing, becoming an apprentice to the doctor of the small town of Ethlund in Teronna.
- Fell for and married Victor Ayres when she was twenty years old. Their marriage was a simple one, but it didn't feel loveless to her.
- When the Marquess of Attenvale's wife went into labor nearly two weeks early, Elayne was called upon to aide in the birth. It became quite clear to her that the child and mother would not survive unless she delved into her magic...which was forbidden in Teronna. Before she could finish weaving her magic, a maid caught her and Elayne had to flee. She later learned that the marchioness and unborn babe did not survive, and Elayne was blamed for causing it with the magic she wielded.
- Panicked, she immediately went home and explained everything to her husband. Her magic was a secret she even held from him and he appeared to handle the situation well. They made a plan to leave Teronna as soon as possible. However, late into the night, one of her most trusted friends and maid in the household woke her up in a fright. Victor sold his own wife out to the authorities, and soldiers were almost at their door.
- After a scuffle with her husband, Elayne fled into the night with very little provisions before she managed to board the first ship that would take her that didn't ask questions. A couple weeks into the trip, while headed towards Aralore, they hit a devastating storm which has left Elayne stranded on Aldsage.
- Elayne is a very strong-willed woman and often lets her mouth run without thinking it through first.
- Has a fresh scarring wound on her dominant hand, across her palm from the knife Victor tried to threaten her with. She fears it will not heal properly and her means of providing for herself (medicine and surgery) will be gone. Sometimes her hand shakes as the nerves were slightly damaged.
