FACTS ::

• The third-born son to Kaige and Karin Drach of the mighty dragons of Aldsage. Life as a Drach was far from easy, but Turin powered through it without hesitation or question...because to do so was forbidden and risked angering his father.
• His mother died bringing his younger brother, Jannik, into the world. Kaige eventually married another woman, Gwen, whom Turin completely despises. Frankly, no one likes her, but she birthed three girls, his half-sisters, whom he adores and loves with his whole heart.
• When he was twenty, Jannik left the clan after an altercation with Kaige, abandoning the clan and thus banished. Turin often thinks of him and misses his younger brother, feeling as though he'll never see him again. He managed to do the one thing that has every so often filtered into his head- leave.
• Turin wasn't privy to the details of his father's attempt at "peace" with the Morelings and was thrown into the fray when the slaughter of the entire clan of lions suddenly happened on Drach turf. Kaige managed to slaughter every single Moreling except for the chieftain's daughter, Jayna, who was forced to be a slave to the dragons.
• During this skirmish, his eldest brother, Aemon, was murdered by a Moreling he had shown pity to, leaving behind a wife and children. It was only a few days before this that Lorcan's wife, Maja, had gone into early labor. She and the babe passed away, no matter how much the healers tried desperately to save both.
• All of this caused to Lorcan to withdraw into himself. He was a husk of the man he once was, not speaking for months, and Turin constantly worried for him. Even presently, when his brother's mood somewhat improved, he still worries he'll fall down that dark hole.
• Turin finds the need to be the jokester to help lift his family's spirits. Sometimes it's tiring, but he never lets that show.
• He and Lorcan have, numerous times, forced themselves between Kaige and their sisters during the man's rages, taking the beatings. The brothers are fiercely protective of the girls and will do anything for them.
• Has gained the nickname "Turke" because of a run-in with a wild turkey when he was but seven years old. It had been chasing a frantic and terrified young Jannik, and when Turin tried to intervene, the mad bird tried to pull his eyes out with its beak (or so he says) before ferociously chasing him throughout the village until he miraculously managed to kill it. He's had several encounters with turkeys ever since and claims them to be the bane of his existence.
• Although he hasn't said it, he actually respects Jayna Moreling for surviving what she did and still has to endure. His own fear of Kaige has kept him from trying to help her escape, something of which he is quietly ashamed of.
• Would much rather go fishing than go through the constant combative training that is required of him.
