APPEARANCE: Cy is fair-haired, with the sun lightening his hair even farther in spring and summer when he is able to spend most of his time outside. He dresses practically at all times, and his hands are almost always covered in soil. He is fairly muscular because he handles his small farm on his own as much as possible. People who interact with him will notice that he hardly ever makes eye contact and spends much of his time looking at either the ground of his hands.

PERSONALITY: Cy Ogden is a kind, gentle person, although many are not aware of this fact. He hardly speaks to the people who live in the main settlement when he comes there to sell his produce because he is uncomfortable around people he doesn't know well. The people he talks to most are his parents and his mother's best friend Lilac. He does sometimes babysit Lilac's grandchildren when her family is busy with the harvest. Outside of those few, he spends most of his time with his plants and his cows.

HISTORY:

Cy lived a fairly boring Sigferth life until he was 25; he grew up with his parents, helped on their dairy farm, and generally did what was asked of him. Back then he enjoyed working at their stall in the market to sell the milk, butter, and cheese they produced. He would spend time chatting with customers and playing with local children, although he was still fairly shy.

At 25, he fell in love with a woman named Lavender. She encouraged his courtship and gifts, spending more and more time with him until he proposed by making her a flower crown from lavender and white roses. She laughed in his face and told him that she had never been interested in really marrying him. She had encouraged him because she liked the attention, but she was a talented healer and would never marry a farm boy who always smelled like animals. He was shocked and tried to argue, and she insulted him further, saying that no one wanted to talk to him anyway because he was dull and stupid. She married one of the sons of the clan leader and refused to speak to him again. She spread rumors that he had been basically stalking her so that people in town did not trust him.

Cy had already purchased land and a small cottage, thinking he would be moving in with a wife to possibly have children, so he moved out there on his own. He now has a neatly organized little farm with two cows, chickens, and a variety of vegetables and herbs. He took Lavender's insults to heart and generally assumes that most people do not want to talk to him.
