Queen's Guard

Stefan didn’t like the idea of leaving Alexandria’s guard. Even at her insistence that she would be fine, and that there were other guards close by who could step in while he was out, he still felt nervous-- ever since the night King Edward had attacked her. He did not trust others to do what he knew he could.
He stood silently as the two women said their goodbyes and Sylvie made her way back towards him, requesting her sword. He smiled and held it out to her to take. “I have one of my own… If you try anything, you won’t have time to realize what happens to you next,” he lightly warned her, though there were friendliness and warmth in the tone of his voice. Perhaps a hint of a joking manner, despite how very serious he was that he would take action, regardless of who she was, if she had any plans of harming the queen or anyone associated with her.
He bowed to the queen before closing the door behind him and Sylvie, gesturing to the woman to lead the way to where her belongings were. “You said your belongings are nearby, then?” He questioned her. He had only been listening partially since he typically tried to give Alexandria her privacy as much as possible, usually only half-listening, unless there seemed to be a real danger at hand. Part of him could tell that Sylvie was telling the truth and just needed some help. If the lady could fight well enough with the sword she carried, he would feel better than the queen kept her around as one of her ladies. An undercover guard, of sorts, he supposed.
“So, that’s our queen… She is lovely and I do hope you can be trusted to not harm her… The woman has already been through enough as of late.” He walked at the same pace Sylvie did, not wanting to walk ahead of her or fall behind her. “And Claire…” Alexandria had decided to place this woman with Claire until they arrived back in Aralore. He hesitated for a moment, realizing he was already beginning to become protective of both Alexandria’s ladies, but more so Claire. She was a sweet lady. “She is kind and sweet...and if you so much as go and make her feel uncomfortable, or make her cry…” He didn’t finish his sentence, but there was a warning tone in his words.
