WHAT ARE ALTERS?
Sometimes you just need that wee side character to help a story along, but dedicating an entire forum account just for that one character you may or may not play a lot could be a little too much.
Fortunately, someone has created a wonderful plugin that allows you to use "alters" which are attached to whatever account you assign them to. And for a role-playing forum, this is perfect.
Our NPCs will be attached to our player/OOC accounts (so if you don't already have one and want some NPCs, make your player account first). This makes it easier to keep track of these characters and easier to assign/manage them.

Just fill out the form below and paste it into a thread on the NPCs [aka Alters] board, similar to how we do our regular character applications.

HOW IT WORKS
- Just sign into your player account.
- Create/reply to the thread you want to post your NPC/alter in.
- Type up your post.
- Before hitting "reply"/"create thread", click the "Alters" button at the bottom right of the text window. A pop up will show with all your assigned Alters. Click on one then submit your post. Instead of showing your player account avatar and info, it should show your NPC instead!
- It will look like this (both of these were posted from the same account).
HOW TO GET AN ALTER
Just fill out the form below and paste it into a thread on the NPCs [aka Alters] board, similar to how we do our regular character applications.
- HOWEVER, only create ONE thread. For example, Kate would have "Soleil's NPCs", and with every new NPC she'd like to submit, she would just reply to that current thread. I will be flagged (I'm tagged in the application) so I will know when a new character is submitted. This will just help keep things less crazy. <3
- Please only submit for NPCs that you think you'll really need. Apparently plugins can run out of space, but I do have an extension just in case. Consider combining children or even relatives into one account or something, but you certainly don't have to. If we get a huge influx of NPCs and it becomes a problem, we can condense later on.
