FACTS ::

• The first-born son to Arden deGrey and Anne Demarais-deGrey, William's childhood was simple and he was groomed for life at court. He didn't mind the politics so much- in truth, it often intrigued him- and found himself working towards becoming Tresteria's Ambassador later on.
• As the oldest brother, he was often watching out for the others and didn't often get into too much trouble by himself. It was usually when Wesley wrangled them into some obscene situation and they all got caught.
• Attending court led him to meeting his wife, Catherine Durand, when he was twenty-four. With flaxen hair and slate-blue eyes, Will was immediately smitten with her and they were wed a year later. Within their second year of marriage, Catherine became pregnant with their first child, and it was from that moment forward, their life became rocky.
• Catherine started to become very ill and there were a couple of close calls. But no matter what the doctors did, they could not save her once she had given birth to Olivia. On the day that was supposed to be one of the happiest of his life, he lost the woman who had been everything to him.
• Forced to raise Olivia on his own, William still felt alone in the process, despite his mother and brothers always willing to pitch in. And it wasn't as though they had been doing anything wrong and were wonderful with his daughter...but it was still hard. There was a loneliness in his heart that no one else could fill, no matter how much love he was surrounded with.
• This was how he came to meet Margery. She was the first woman to truly give him the time of day, although there are times he wonders why and what her motive is. He likes her well enough, but he didn't love her. Still, he found himself proposing against the wishes of his brothers, and every now and then wonders if he'll ever go through with it.
• William knows he's the less attractive deGrey and is often overlooked, but he is never one for the limelight.
• Has learned to play the lute but not many people know this because he doesn't share it.
• Is an exceptionally good ballroom dancer.
• Although he hasn't had to use it, he's been trained in the short sword and could probably still hold his own in a fight.
• William doesn't get angry easily. It takes a lot for him to raise his voice.
