I can see the flowers and the greenery
I take a breath of air, I feel free
Spent so long, was busy chasing happiness
When all I needed was a little peace
Face Claim: Lydia Graham
OOC Name: Magpie
CHARACTER NAME: Rosemary Jean McIntyre
AGE: 23
CURRENT RESIDENCE: Teronna
APPEARANCE: Rosemary is a tall (5'8) thin young woman who is often told that she looks much younger than she is. Her dark hair is about shoulder length, and vaguely wavy, although it refuses to hold a curl. She has freckles on her cheeks and shoulders which multiply in the summer when she is able to spend more time outside. (helpful fullbody reference)
MARITAL STATUS: Single
FAMILY MEMBERS: Father: Nicholas Edward McIntyre, Mother: Emilia Jean McIntyre, Eldest brother: Lucas Alexander McIntyre, and younger sister Lavender Marie McIntyre.
POSITION/OCCUPATION: Lady In Waiting to Princess Cera
GRAMARYE GIFT: Rosemary has had a “green thumb” since she was a child. It started with flowers in the garden, but now they have a greenhouse filled with plants that she has cultivated. With focus she can push things to grow at immense speeds, from seed to full grown plant in a matter of minutes. The larger the plant the more energy it requires. If she is not careful she can run herself to exhaustion by using her own energy to 'feed' the plants. She can also revive/heal a troubled plant.
PERSONALITY: While comfortable around her family and friends, around strangers Rosemary is practically silent. She’s a good dancer, and when she does speak she speaks wittily, but she primarily keeps her thoughts to herself. She’s extremely uncomfortable around unknown men and flinches when touched by them. She loves to read, write, and garden. She spends most of her time at home in her greenhouse with the plants, talking and singing to them, or reading books under trees in the garden.
When at court, she stays near the princess and her other ladies whenever possible, as she feels most comfortable with them. She appreciates Cera's confidence and wit, although she sometimes feels like she has to be a voice of reason to rein in the others from getting into trouble. If she has time to herself, she spends it in the gardens.
She understands Cera's reluctance to be married to a stranger, and her frustration at being trapped in the castle so often, and will invite Cera to her own home whenever possible. She wants to help her friend have some freedom in her life.
I needed someone to depend upon
I was alone, I was emotional
LIKES: flowers, sunshine, being barefoot, people who speak softly, being treated like an adult
DISLIKES: crowds, drunk people, Magnus, being shouted at
HABITS: Rosemary is a quiet young woman who tends to purposefully put herself at the back of crowds or along the wall at a party. She does not like being the center of attention. She spends time outdoors whenever possible. She will flinch away from sudden movements or unexpected contact.
SELF IMAGE: Rosemary has has it drilled into her that she is plain, boring, and awkward. She does her best to follow social graces, but no matter how well she does or how polite she is, her parents still complain that she is not doing enough. She feels that she is beneath notice.
REPUTATION: Not much is said about the quiet woman who trails around after Princess Cera; most people notice her only in passing since she doesn't speak up around anyone but the other ladies.
HISTORY:
Rosemary is the middle child of three, daughter of one very haughty Lord Nicholas McIntyre and his chatty wife Emilia. She is the 'black sheep' of the family purely by virtue of being an introvert. She has always preferred the company of plants to people, and tends to shrink when faced with strangers. She will open up if treated kindly, but it does take time. Among her friends she is a kind and gentle young woman who brings out the best in others, but few see this side of her outside her circle.
She was previously engaged to Lord Magnus Bournemouth, but after three months their engagement was broken off with no explanation to anyone outside their immediate families. Gossip suggests that Lord Bournemouth is a volatile man whose temper has led to more than one person being forced to leave court. These rumors are bolstered by Rosemary's increased nervousness around men--while she has always been a shy person, her reactions to being touched unexpectedly are more akin to terror than simple nerves these days.
