CURRENT RESIDENCE (Which land in Elysium will they live?): Aldsage - The Drach Clan
APPEARANCE (General info, Height/weight, Eye/Hair color, build, etc.):
Lorcan is a tall and very muscular individual. His body is in great, tip top shape and has it’s fair share of battle scars. But what man from the Drach clan, and a son of the head Dragon wouldn’t have scars? His most noticeable one (when he actually wears a shirt) is a four inch long scar on the right side of his neck where he’d narrowly dodged a blade. He has two scars on his left shoulder where he took an enemy arrow. Clearly it was not enough to slow him down.
He has dark brown hair he keeps fairly short. Oftentimes shaving the sides of his head so the top is always longer. Lorcan inherited his mother’s bright blue eyes that turn a dark almost stormy grey color when he’s angry. Despite his rugged appearance he takes great pride in his beard and keeps it nicely trimmed and oiled.
Lorcan is hardly ever seen wearing a shirt unless they’re in the thrall of Winter, so his skin is a deep tan kissed by the sun. He embraces his clans warrior lifestyle and wears a lot of leather. He wears a beaded necklace with an arrow head dangling from it. It falls right on his sternum. He also wears a shirt leather cord around his neck with a tiny corked vial. The glass is stained and old so no one knows what exactly is in it, and no one has gained the courage to ask about it.
The Drach's have some tattoo customs, especially for their warriors. On his spine he has a series of rune tattood to show his various achievements as a warrior. After each achievement you get a knew rune added until your full spine is covered. He also has a dragon, or his "scales" as the clan call it tattood on his right shoulder blade. On his left bicep there is a black band signifying those in his clan he was once married and his spouse passed.

PERSONALITY:
Lorcan is a man of very few words. He rarely speaks unless spoken too or it’s needed, and then you better shut up and listen. His voice is deep, and holds a lot of conviction when he wants it too. He has an intimidating presence that makes even the most skilled warriors hesitate on occasion. The fact he doesn’t talk much just adds to it.
Lorcan is first and foremost, a man of action. Doing what is asked of him with no questions asked. He has little thought of others unless they are his family, close friends or others of his clan. He is a man of duty, and has a great pride in not only his clan but his family as well. Lorcan is a protector first, and a warrior as a very close second. He has the mentality that he must do the hard things so his sisters will have a safe place to grow up. He’s willing to kill others without a second thought, because he knows his clan will be in possible danger if he doesn’t. He’s gained a merciless mentality from his father as well as from watching his oldest brother murdered before his eyes. One act of kindness had cost him his life, and since that moment Lorcan took on a no mercy attitude towards any threat.
Despite the hard exterior, and if you dig down reaaaal deep, you’ll find the softer side to Lorcan. It’s only ever shown to his little sisters and only when they’re all alone. He’s a gentle and attentive big brother, and it’s only with the girls or Turke that the man actually smiles. He’s become more of a father figure to his siblings then his own father. Lorcan secretly loves kids. Especially babies, and it’s a rare sight when he will sit with all the clan children to retell great battles of the old dragons before them. Kids instantly gravitate to him, and he shows a patience with them that no one else would receive.
Lorcan misses nothing, as he is constantly observing and taking everything in around him. It’s made him a valuable warrior and has earned him his place as his fathers second in command. He’s a methodical fighter. Taking in his opponents, before he strikes to gather possible weaknesses. He takes great pleasure in drawing out a fight, tiring his opponent before he does the killing blow. He’s intelligent, and has many ideas for the Clan, but hasn’t brought anything up to his father, knowing he might be struck down. Despite his obedience and loyalty to his father, he constantly questions his motive (he only ever speaks in private with Turke about it) and whether or not his father's actions are really for the good of the clan, or for his own personal gain to be the best. The clan means everything to Lorcan, and he has no tolerance for traitors or those who would abandon the great Drach Clan. Family is also everything to him, and there isn’t nothing he would do to ensure their safety.
Lorcan is a man that has experienced great loss and betrayal. It’s hardened him to the point that his brother Turke is constantly worried about him, missing the brother he was from before. But due to that loss it’s made him a stronger, albeit sterner man with high walls that he lets no one penetrate.
HISTORY:
Lorcan was born the second son to the chieftain Kaige Drach of the Drach Clan, and to Karin Rivers. The two had wed soon after Kaige became the chieftain, and had their first son soon after they were married. Years later they welcome Lorcan, and a year after they welcome yet another son, Turke. Kaige was a proud father of three boys, and it was clear how much the chieftain loved his sons, and his wife despite his hard exterior. Lorcan was almost four when his mother became pregnant again for the fourth time, and Kaige had high hopes for another boy.
It was the middle of winter, and a blizzard had rolled in the day she went into labor. Lorcan didn’t remember much from that night, but he knew he had gained another brother, Jannik, and had lost his mother in the same day. Kaige was devastated, and Lorcan wonders to this day if the loss of Karin was what drove him to be the man he is today. Lorcan and his brothers had a brutal upbringing. While Aemon, Lorcan, and Turke could take the strenuous activities and harshness their father gave them to try and turn them into the perfect warriors, Jannik could not.
Lorcan tried to be the best older brother he could be. Taking time to work with Jannik off the clock so to speak, but his baby brother always seemed to have his head in the clouds. What was worse is he would sneak off to go play in the woods, and Lorcan caught him singing one day. Coming up with his own little tunes about butterflies and doe eyed girls. Their father soon learned about Jannik missing out on training, and quite literally beat it into the boy that he was not to sing, and play lutes like he so desperately wanted. He was a dragon. Not a singer. Despite this, Jannik persisted. His stubbornness rivaling their fathers, and the two would constantly be arguing. The result was always a beaten Jannik. Afraid his brother would push their father too far, Lorcan tried to reason with him. Tried to secretly protect him, but Jannik was too headstrong.
During this time Kaige had remarried. The woman, Gwen, was barely 20 when they wed, and it didn’t take long before their half sister Hanna was born. The fact Gwen had given him a daughter, was something that displeased Kaige, and it was evident that Gwen wasn’t the mothering sort. Between the wet nurse and the boys, they had given Hanna her name and looked after her as their parents took no interest. Hanna was soon followed by their other sisters Violet and Sienna, and their mother became more and more agitated. It didn’t take long for them to realize what Gwen was doing either. She was a greedy manipulative woman, and while others could see it, Kaige could not and was blind. Not willing to hear anyone speak ill of his wife, even his sons.
The year after Sienna was born, Jannik had finally done it, and Kaige was in a ripe foul mood. He’d taken whatever joy Jannik had with his music and destroyed it, and Jannik had quite honestly lost his shit. The result was essentially Kaige giving Jannik an ultimatum, he could do what was expected of him, or he could leave. Out of respect for his mother Kaige wouldn’t lob is head off.
Lorcan had expected Jannik to finally give in, and Jannik had seemed like he would finally submit to their father. Lorcan had even taken him aside and promised him he would do whatever he could to turn him into the warrior father wanted him to be. The promise fell on open ears, and the next morning, Jannik was gone. A hole where his baby brother had been in his heart formed, and Lorcan could feel nothing but betrayed. How could he not? Family was everything and Jannik had abandoned them.
Years slowly went on, and Lorcan helped raise his sisters when he finally met Maja. She had been a beautiful woman, with hair as red as fire and eyes the color of moss. He’d never thought he could love another as much as he loved her, and the two were wed. Life was good, and for once Lorcan didn’t think anything could go wrong. He was terribly mistaken.
Maja was pregant, and Lorcan was thrilled to finally be a father. Kaige had informed him and Aemon about the “peace” treaty with the Morelings, and what was to happen. Maja had gone into unexpected labor days before, and Lorcan become distressed. The baby was still to early, and there was something terribly wrong. No amount of healers could prepare him for the worst day of his life as he held his dead wife in his arms still born daughter. Lorcan had fallen into a void, becoming the shell of a man he once had been. When the treaty came, it only worsened.
Despite their victory in destroying the Morelings in their entirety, even capturing the chiefs daughter, there was still great losses on both sides. Lorcan had watched his brother murdered before his eyes after showing mercy to a man they had plans on turning into a slave. The man had attacked Aemon the moment his back was turned, plunging his hidden knife into his brothers neck, and Lorcan lost it.
He didn’t remember much from that night, just that he was covered in blood and had gone back to sit with Aemon's body. Turke found them that morning with Aemons’s head in Lorcan’s lap, his eyes closed and looking peaceful. Lorcan’s eyes were dead, and void of any emotion, and it took three clansmen and Turke to move the brother pair home to give Aemon a proper burial.
In the three years that followed Lorcan has recovered from his grief and lost, but it’s changed him. He’s much more quiet, and merciless now then he once was. Threw himself into improving the clan, and Kaige made him the new 2nd. Taking over Aemon’s position. Today Lorcan is content with making sure the clan survives and doing what he can to ensure their safety.
