Alexandria removed her robe, exposing her underclothing before she stepped in front of Claire and allowed her to fashion her corset over her torso. While all of her scars on the lower half of her back were slightly covered, the rest were exposed, showing a glimpse of her past as a slave--something not many knew of, save for her ladies and her husband. Maybe Orin had an idea, but for the most part, Alexandria kept her scars hidden. She stood quietly as Claire laced her up, but she smiled when she admitted to missing Teagan. "I do too," Alexandria admitted. She stepped into her dress and helped Claire pull it up over her form and she turned again to have Claire lace the dress up for her. She laughed softly as she was bombarded with a couple of questions. "I know what you mean..." She responded regarding missing people you normally wouldn't think you would miss. When Claire questioned her about Cassandra, Alexandria thought for a moment. She had confessed about her relationship with Orin, so she was fairly certain that she missed Aralore, as well, if just because of Orin, but she imagined no one else knew about this besides her and Aric now. A simple nod was given. "I'm sure she is. She gets to see her sister again, after a year of being away." She smiled. "I'm not certain if she will be coming back with us... Her husband does not appear to be doing too well... And I suppose she may not have reason to come back without him." She frowned slightly, hoping that Cassandra would be able to come back someday, if not just because she wanted her, but also because she knew Orin would, too. Alexandria wondered where Aric Demarais had gone off to and if he would be back in time to get ready for the funeral. "Hopefully Aric gets back soon so he can get ready... I'm not sure if he did already or not before he stepped out this morning. Did you see him before coming here?"

"That must be nice." Claire said softly. She thought of her own brothers and a sadness settled around her. They wouldn't miss her, they barely remembered she existed. She was sure when they returned home from Aralore it would be Teagan waiting impatiently on the docks to greet them, with some of the other palace staff. Her mother might be there just to see Claire was in fact well, and hadn't done anything to embarrass the family, but that was it. Teagan and Cassie were as close as Claire was going to get to sisters. She helped settle the dress on Alexandria's frame. She wouldn't admit it to her queen, but she also thought of her as an older sister. Claire definitely looked up to her that was for sure.
"Oh no! I hope he's okay. Maybe I'll see about asking Cassie if he likes sweets or something. Bring him a care basket." She said thinking allowed. She could talk to the kitchen staff, see if they could whip something up. Or maybe she could go down and make it herself. She did make a mean muffin if she set her mind to it. Maybe she should make everyone muffins? As a thank you for Queen Eleesa's good hospitality. That was polite right? No one would mind? Surely Alexandria wouldn't mind her disappearing for a few hours, especially if she had muffins! Yes, good plan Claire. Yule was happening too, and though it was a bit different then how they celebrated in Aralore, presents were still a thing. Everyone liked presents!
She was brought out of her Christmas thoughts when King Aric was mentioned. "N-no! I only saw S-s-Stefan." Claire stammered out. Remembering that infernal booger. She could feel her face heating up from embarrassment all over again. "Shoes?" She asked. When Alexandria gestured in their direction, Claire would hurry over and fetch them for her, before coming back and helping her put them on. "I'm sure King Aric will be ready in time, he's probably seeing what he can do to help." She said. It seemed reasonable to her, but she also wasn't a King, so she didn't know what Kings did when they slipped away from their wives.
A sneeze suddenly hit Claire. She was bent over when it happened, the force of it caused her stumble back and fall on her butt, before a loud "ACHOO!" She sneezed again and could practically feel the projectile fly from her nose, before it smacked against her chin, as gravity hit. "Not another one!" She practically shrieked in horror. She quickly dug her handkerchief out, and tended to her nose, being sure to wipe her face extra thoroughly. She could feel another sneeze coming on, and she sneezed into the handkerchief. This was so embarrassing... Her face grew red, and there were tears beginning to spring in her eyes. "I-I'm s-s-orry I'm so s-snotty!" She blew her nose, trying to keep the tears from spilling over. She would not cry! Not in front of Alexandria! She was strong! She'd be fine. She wiped her nose, and sniffled. Hating how sick she got as her shoulders slumped as she sat on the floor.

Alexandria couldn't help but smile as Claire thought to bring Henry a care basket. She seriously doubted the man would be able to enjoy it, but she didn't have the heart to tell Claire that. "That's very sweet of you, love."
Once her dress was on and laced up, she brushed her hands down the front of the skirt to straighten it before pointing at the shoes that were near her wardrobe on the floor. She nodded to Claire at her assurance that Aric would be back in time. She helped get her shoes on and then it seemed as if she was done and ready.
And then Claire fell into another sneezing fit. Alexandria watched with concern and frowned, especially when she seemed like she was about to cry and dropped to sit on the floor. She rushed over to her and placed a hand on her shoulder. "Hey now... Don't get upset love... It happens to the best of us." She gave Claire a gentle smile and crouched down in front of her. "Come on... You will get sicker sitting on the floor." She wasn't certain if that was true, but the floor could tend to get cold. She helped her back to her feet and led her over to a chair. "Are you sure you will be alright? You really do not need to attend the funeral..." She urged her, giving her a concerning look. She thought she was an understanding woman and hoped Claire did not feel obligated or worried that she would be upset for her not being there.

If it happened to the best of people, then what did that say about Claire? Was she the bestest person in the entire planet, or the complete opposite with the amount of sneezing and sickness she got? The world only knew…
She took her handkerchief and wiped away any traces of snot that might have lingered while she tried to get her tears under control, and took a slow breath before she allowed Alexandria to help her up off the floor. She walked over to the chair like a dismayed child. She sat down on the chair and held her hands in her lap, raising her head slightly to meet Alexandria’s gaze. “I’m okay, I’ll just...Rest a bit, and then be good to go!” She told her. If she could sit and rest for a bit then surely her body would take care of all it’s sneezing…
Once Alexandria agreed, Claire would rest in the chair of as long as she dared before she finished helping her Queen get ready, and then would head off to the funeral with her.
