Withdrawing the knife, he wiped it on the prisoner's clothing as the man gurgled and struggled for breath that would not come. Eventually, the last of the air in his lungs slipped from frightened lips in a sigh. Eoin paid no more attention to him while he wiped the blood from his face on his sleeve.
Offering a light shrug, he sheathed the blade at his side. "Most likely. It makes sense for them to be awaiting word from the assassins. It's just a question of whether or not they will actually wait for spring. They'll know we're aware by now..." But moving an entire army and having to provide for them in the middle of winter would be tough. Even for Saelis.

As Eoin cleaned the blood off of himself, Orin stepped up to the prisoner to check that he was in fact dead. He never assumed anything like that. He was dead, and there would be no other information to get from the man, but he had hoped they got what they needed and that the man had been telling the truth.
He nodded to Eoin as he confirmed that he believed the man was telling the truth.
Orin had a letter to write now. With a heavy sigh, he placed a hand on Eoin's shoulder and urged him out of the cell. When they were back at the guard's station, Orin spoke. "Dispose of the prisoner's body. He is dead." The guard nodded, a bit shocked.
He turned to Eoin slightly as they walked. "Thank you for your help." What else could he say to the man right now? "And uh... Let me know if you need anything?" And he truly meant it. It was the least he could do for the man. Even if they never did see eye to eye on things.

He still didn't know if he had been too quick and brazen to kill the prisoner, but he couldn't help but the feeling of suspicion that the Saelisian would have tried to kill himself the first chance he got. The man was a dead man either way.
Grey eyes were staring at nothing now, Orin's voice barely breaking him out of his thoughts as they left the cell. "I am here...for whatever it is you need," he answered him, finally blinking. Even if his tone was low and even, he meant it. It didn't matter what happened between him and Alexandria now- that was something he had to move on from- but he was Aralorian. He'd do anything for this kingdom.
Finally looking to him, there was just a subtle hint of amusement in his gaze. Sure, they may not have liked each other, but perhaps there was at least some respect between them now. A firm nod, he slapped Orin on the shoulder before turning to leave.
