Society
- Question first and shoot later if at all possible.
- The chieftain and their family takes on the "Oisen" surname and reverts back if the chieftain line changes.
- They are a very "keep to themselves culture". They don’t shun outsiders but it takes time for that trust to build and to know they are worthy for trust to be given.
- Punishments will match the crimes- thieving will cost you a hand (horse theft an entire arm, happens again it's your head). Thieving is honestly the worst that could be done as that is the more frowned upon sin among the clan due to how much they value trust. The chieftain is the main one who will dole out punishment and sometimes have the tribe vote as a whole depending on the crime.
- Abuse crimes are not tolerated either, they will result in a flogging as well as being branded and shunned in the clan, then forced to live as an outlier. This goes for both men and women- no one is exempt from this.
- Clans members are encouraged to get tattoos to show various achievements and accomplishments in their lives; marriage, family, growth, etc. It's not required but encouraged.
- Men and women are considered rather equal in regards to owning land/items/running a business.
- Land is passed down in the family but new land can be claimed and settled. Family land goes to the oldest child, or in special circumstances, is willed (must be written and marked by both the land owner and chieftain) to another.
- The people of the clan know all the tricks and how-to's on how to care and treat horses. Experts are good with multiple types and know how to get the best outcome with their horses.
- Spring time, during the height of foaling season (and sometimes it’s seen as good luck for clanswomen to give birth on the same day as a mare), they have a large celebration. A two day festival where they sacrifice the best horse. The blood is used to bless the lands, the horses graze, and the meat is prepared in special dishes where they are shared and passed around.
- All people in Clan Oisen know how to fight and are very good with mounted weaponry/tactics, and defensive techniques as well as trap making.
- They are the best clan suited for cavalry combat in Aldsage, considering their lives revolve around horses.
Courting/Marriage/Funerals
- For a man to propose to an Oisen woman, he must offer her a new horse as a sign of his love/betrothal.
- Weddings are big events- even bigger if it involves the clan leader. Weddings will involve various sacrifices to the gods and the couple should have their wedding clothes blessed in the blood of the first sacrifice after the gods for luck and fertility.
- Marriage is a blessed union between a man and woman but if the husband and wife are in agreement they can allow another man or woman into the marriage to grow their household. They would all be considered married to one another and share responsibilities. This is normally discussed between the people that are involved.
- Cheating is crime enough to allow the cheated to divorce the cheater and take half the property/belongings.
- Funerals are a celebration event. A pyre is built in the ocean and lain with the fallen person which varies on how they died. For example: a woman in childbirth has various fertility, love, and the mane of her betrothal horse lain with her and the child if they did not survive; a warrior would be laid to rest with their weapons, horse, and anything of note. A worker/horse care person receives a respectful funeral as well, just a little more down played but with just as much respect.
Horse breeds they raise up so far:

- Andalusians
- Appaloosa
- Ardennais
- Belgium
- Clydesdale
- Draft
- Dutch Warmblood
- Frisians
- Fjord (the "sacrificial horse")
- The Fjord horse is the sacrificial horse of the Oisen clan. Nature long since deemed that horse to be sacred and special, and so the special herd is raised up by someone trusted by the chieftain to keep them in the best health and well cared for. Their location is highly protected and anyone caught messing with them is likely to be punished.
