PERSONALITY :: Theron tends to hold people away at an arm’s length, never letting too many people get close to him. He is polite, respectful and seems to care about others, but there seems to be a mysterious side to him that no one really knows about. He doesn’t talk about his past very much (nothing too significant, at least), or of his family. At times he can seem very stand-offish, uninterested and distant. He doesn’t trust others well or give them the time of day until they prove to be deserving of it.

ABOUT THERON ::

• Theron was the eldest and only son of Zane and Amara Vestalis, born in the Merine district of Noistar, his father was a well-known Marinai and it was expected of Theron to follow in his footsteps. He was six years old when his younger sister, Brylee was born. He loved her and swore to protect and be the best brother he could be to her.

• His parents were very much like most people from Merine. They were hard-working, rough around the edges, and stern-- especially his father. He did not grow up in a household that was nurturing and emotional, but more strict and tough-loving. But there was never any doubt that his parents cared or loved their children. There was respect and loyalty in their household.

• His parents were never wealthy and at times struggled financially, but they always seemed to make things work.

• When he was of age, he enrolled in the Naval school to begin his study and training to become a Marinai and follow in his father’s footsteps. He thrived and became top in his class and groups, but never let this get to his head.

• During a Holiday period, Theron and his family wanted to go out to sea and sail the ocean to get away for a while. It was a chance for Theron to show his family the skills he had learned in his training.

• It was during this sail that would change his life forever. His father was pushing him, ordering him about, which resulted in a harsh, heated argument between father and son. It was during this argument that Theron made a careless mistake that knocked their ship out of control. The seas were choppy and the wind was heavy, which did not help matters. The ship capsized and the family was thrown into the sea.

• Everything had happened so fast, and all Theron could think of to do was find his sister and make sure she got out of this alive. But he failed. She and the rest of his family drowned.

• He spent the rest of the evening and into night swimming and floating on a makeshift raft of broken pieces of the ship towards a nearby island. Once he made it to land, he laid there on the shore in complete shock and devastation over the unexpected loss until he passed out of exhaustion.

• When daylight hit, he found himself in an unfamiliar home, being cared for by an elderly man, whom he later found out was a retired doctor. He welcomed Theron into his home and helped him get back on his feet, instantly becoming a mentor-type figure to him. It was during his month-long stay with the man that he suddenly took an interest in learning medicine and he decided he no longer wanted to be a Marinai.

• Theron nearly decided to stay on this land to help the old man as he aged and to learn more from him, but one morning, the man did not wake from his sleep, and once again, Theron was on his own. He was only seventeen.

• He finally returned home to Noistar. But being in his family’s home was too painful. Being in Merine was too painful, and he wanted no part of sailing or being a Marinai again. So he packed up whatever belongings he had and moved himself to Venitzia, finding himself joining the Protettori and training to become a Venitzian guard. It was there that he met his best friend Gavriel Bellanti , of whom he trained with and eventually came to consider his brother he never had.

• He still works on studying medicine to become a doctor, but with the little money he has to his name, and the little free time he has, it is taking him a bit longer than he would have hoped, but he hasn’t given up.
