She better not let him in on this secret of hers. If he knew how much power he truly had over her (and it was all completely and naturally on accident), he would have more "tricks" up his sleeve. Of course, that would mean that he would have to stop being so easily swayed by her. And let's face it, he kind of liked to be at this point.
The both of them would be risking a lot. As much as Cian had been thinking about the possibility of his family finding out, that they might be furious, he didn't really stop to think what they would do. Did this feud go so deep as to make Arieen and Desmond DeGraff want to disown their own son? It seemed, in all honesty, very ridiculous. This hatred between the families couldn't be that strong or real- wasn't it just pettiness and all that other nonsensical madness? It couldn't be possible. They would never.
He knew he should care more, but he was struggling to care any more than he already did. Not because he didn't love his family dearly, but there was also still room left in his heart for another.
And so he kissed her fiercely, because he wasn't sure when he would be able to again. He knew the moment they climbed back down and returned to their horses, he could do nothing but watch her until they got too close to Ethion. Then it was back to pretending they didn't know each other existed...and that seemed like a very impossible feat. His fingers were in her hair, arm curling around her waist as she leaned into him, and he barely pulled back when the moment came to an end. Just as this little escape had to.
Blues were slow to open, hearing her soft chuckle which brought on that grin, albeit a little slower than usual. Cian knew he had to release her from his arms, knew they had to leave, but he wasn't listening very well to the logical part of his brain. "Well-" He was doing it again, where his voice dropped an octave and he leaned forward to whisper against the curve of her ear. "Normally, you don't."
Again, logical part of brain- not listening to it clearly. He was only human.
Oh, his mother would beat him for that insinuation, and it was perhaps why he was laughing lightly at himself when he drew away. Taking one of her hands within his own, he slowly began to lead her down the rocky hill beside the waterfalls so that they could find their horses.

’Normally, you don't’
Well that was just cruel. It was a good thing the guardsman still had his arms wrapped around her as Aoife felt her knees go a little weak at his words, even more so by the gentle tickle of his breath against her ear. She stood, dazed for a second or two as she fought to persuade her brain to cooperate- to string two consecutive thoughts together rather than the flustered mess her mind was in that moment. It seemed as though several long moments had passed before the mystic managed to gather her thoughts- though it can’t have been more than a second or two before she was lightly tapping Cian’s chest and putting a few inches of distance between the two of them- enough so he could see the way an eyebrow quirked upwards.
”Then next time, maybe don’t leave it until two minutes before I have to leave?” She suggested, a slight smirk twisting at her lips. Despite the smirk and despite the way Aoife was trying to make her words seem light and carefree- the flush to her cheeks was impossible to hide and she couldn’t quite soften the way she had had to take a steadying breath before speaking. Damnit, he had to know what he was doing- what effect he had on her.
As much as she hated it, Aoife did have to go- following Cian back the way they had come and back to their waiting horses. The ride back seemed to slip by so quickly, all those days where time had seemed to drag on- and now an hour was passing by in what seemed like less than a minute. Parting ways just outside of the city- the mystic guided her mount back towards the house her father kept, unable to quite keep the small smile from her lips.
