The captain waited for Ronan to finish his observations and guesstimates about a stranger's preferences, content to leave him to it. He was the prostitute, after all, not Bastian. Maybe he knew a thing or two. Maybe it was just better to leave man to his opinions. He raised an eyebrow at being called handsome but made no comment.
He didn't need to. Not right now and not...well, Sebastian didn't often encounter moments where he felt like he needed to do anything so primal. Doubt you're interested in men. He'd been taught like most that men were intended to be with women and women were intended to be with men. The man had never really seen the attraction, at least, not as often as his soldier comrades seemed to. For a long time he had thought he was...damaged or incomplete. A certain healer he tried not to think about all too often had shown him he'd been looking in the wrong places. OR maybe that he was looking too hard. Regardless, Sebastian didn't bother forcing anything and paying for sex was a waste of his money.
"So...you bought me the drink. Does that make you my client?" he asked, in what might have been excellent flirting and teasing if he sounded at all interested. It was more...politely depositing a thought that he wasn't expecting an answer to. The captain gave the man another curious look and then stretched, cracking his shoulder blades as he got up from the chair. "Thank you for the drink. I think I have spent enough time here."

Ronan didn't like making assumptions about a persons sexuality. Especially not with men. He knew he was wrong. That he was sick or broken. At least that's what he'd been taught to believe his whole life. Men weren't supposed to be with other men that was why they visited him in secret. That was also how he'd been attacked more times than he would have liked to admit.
The last thing he wanted was to insult this man by insinuating that he might be interested in the company of other men. It was already nice enough that he didn't seem to mind that Ronan did. The question on if he was now the client surprised him a little. No one had asked him that before. "I don't know if I could afford you." He teased with a soft laugh.
When the man stood to leave Ronan became a little sad. He was actually enjoying their conversation. It wasn't often he talked to people outside of the brothel anymore. Other than his brothers but they rarely liked visiting. Not that he could blame them. This was a well known brothel after all, it might look bad for them to visit. Still, he pouted a bit as he set his glass down. "Leaving already? I was enjoying the company."

The captain had spent a great deal of his life keeping his life to himself and he would do his best to continue to do so. It was admittedly rather lonely. But not the sort of loneliness that drove men to establishments like this.
Sebastian snorted in amusement as Ronan suggested he couldn't afford the captain's services. Honestly, the smaller man likely earned more than the guard. Whether he saw any of it was different. "Right answer," he said, nodding once in agreement. He pushed his chair in as the other man pouted. Not an attractive expression. He hesitated and then despite himself said, "Pouting might be what your clients want, but it does not suit you." And then he turned and stepped out of the main space to the podium to collect his coat and sword before heading toward the door.
